They not only turn a profit, but pay their workers a decent wage. Even before CA mandated a $20 an hour minimum for fast-food restaurants, In & Out was on average paying $19 an hour. Some In & Outs pay even more due to the cost of living in the area. The managers can make upwards of $125,000! That's real money.

So many logical and sensible ideals have kept their menu low and the quality up --- no costly advertising, no mobile service that could overwork the employees and distract from the loyal customers right in front of them, and giving their employees above average wages and benefits that keep them faithful to their job (less turnover can be costly). Cheers to Lynsi keeping it simple, a great business model. Thanks for the great interview.

Best burger for the value. Five Guys can shove it. Thanks for keeping the burgers cheap and the culture alive. My car broke down once and In N Out employees literally came out and helped jump start our vehicle. Now that's service!
Met her and her family at a regional picnic when I worked there in 2007-2010. They rented out a water park and brought out trucks exclusive for employees and a guest. They would give they entire store the day off and bring in a back up crew to cover their shift. Only place I one could get an in and out hotdog. She was as genuine and kind as they come and they even invited me to their church.
I worked at In N Out. The training was fantastic. We learned about the family environment and dedication to the customer (we wouldn’t be there without them.). Quality- Friendliness - Cleanliness. It’s a great first job for a teenager. They paid more than other fast food restaurants and gave everyone gifts for Christmas. The environment was positive and proud.
In N Out success is based two principles: simplicity and employee satisfaction. Employee satisfaction always transfers to quality made food. Keep the menu simple. Don't change it up. No need to add gimmicky menu items. Lastly, they always manage to keep it affordable.
I tipped my hat for Lynsi and the In and Out folks. The only burger joint that I go to because you don't raise your price even though others do, ESPECIALLY during Covid-19 you were the only one opened until the government shut you down, and you were the first one opened while others still hesitated to. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!!!
Major respect . We homeschool and we did a tour few years ago of there restaurant in North Dallas. Amazing group of professional people. You could see they were proud to work there and loved what they did. something you don't see much anymore . Way to go Lynsi
1970 you could see the giant IN/N/Out sign miles down the freeway, take the off ramp, and her dad figured out a way to use those (useless) little patches of triangle shaped grass at the end!! THAT is one of the key things that got them their market share. You had two little "outhouses" and drove through, one for prep, one for service and product. When I left California forever in 1978 buddies would "have a burger" for me in LA! Never forgot the good times, good energy. Keep it up, we need it now all over the place more than ever.
In N Out is successful because it values both its customers and employees and treats them like human beings. That’s what’s great about family businesses and is what gets lost when businesses become corporatized where people become numbers
It's the only "fast-food" (although it kinda seems wrong to classify it like that, when it is soooo much more) company that I feel a sense of loyalty to!!!! Please don't ever change! 🥰 I ❤ IN-N-OUT!!!
Great family friendly product and company. It has been in Southern CA all my life. I grew up in Pasadena CA. Thanks for your service, I just now prayed for Lynsi as she leads her staff.
I live in Florida but travel for work. Every time I go out to the west coast, I google if there is an In & Out close to where my hotel is. Love that place.
Overrun by old Spanish old Mexicos nowadays I say the food is pretty old cheap and basic with an old school milkshake from the borders of old Mexico 🇲🇽. 🤡
Best part of In-N-Out is the faith foundation!! It what makes them successful. Not to mention, the best fast food burger on the planet!! "Animal style double double"
My parents knew the original owners and my brother was friends with their sons. When I was a kid I remember going to the original location. It was the only non homemade burger my dad would eat. Unfortunately my parents and my brother have passed, I would have liked to of heard of those early days.
This woman is a beast. My sister and I work for my father’s company. New people don’t know that until they work for us for months. Doing everything like others have to. Let you know changes they need to be made, or things you’re doing well. And also when you can out work others. You know you’re doing something right
she puts the employees first, then the customers and when you do that the employees go above and beyond. She also lives by a rule most companies dont. "If you can afford to make less, make less"
Good for and her family’s business! I’m from the east coast and whenever i visit my family and friends out in California, In n Out was always our first stop once we leave the airport. When my sister moved out to Cali for school in the early 2000s, she would always joke around about working at In n Out. She said their starting pay was $15/hr. And that was back in 2005. In n out was always thinking ahead and always thinking about their employees. No fast food biz was offering that high of a wage… especially when the minimum back then was $6-7/hr
I think In N Out is the perfect example of how a corporation can be run fairly for employers and employees; and how paying employees a fair wage makes them work harder and better...all ships rise with the tide. Their prices are fair as well.
The northernmost In-N-Out up in Oregon opened almost 6 years ago and is still just as busy pretty much everyday now as it was when it first opened. They know what they’re doing in terms of slow-and-steady expansion.
Out of all the fast food choices here in the Bay Area, In and out is the cheapest meal for a family, has the best quality burgers, and invests the most in communities by paying and developing lots of employees great wages and delivering great customer service without faking service surveys just to please investors. This is what mom and pop restaurants used to be before they were driven out, and even large ones like Mcdonalds, before shareholders and executives became more important than customers, employees and communities. They also show that the price inflation from the big chains wasnt simply because of wage increases, but because of corporate earnings targets. If all companies were like IN and Out, this country would be in a lot better place, investing in labor and people instead of the shareholder/investor class. Thank you Lynsi and i wish your philosophy spreads to more companies!
I grew up in the 60's 1.5 miles from the original store in Baldwin Park. It was the place to go for lunch when I was in high school. Friends that worked there said you were expected to work hard but we're paid accordingly. The store was as clean as a hospital and ran like a Swiss watch. It was just down the street from a CHP station off I-10 so there were always lots of CHP officers around. Made it the safest fast food place in LA county.
Last month or so I remember going to In and Out and was surprised their prices remain low. Now i know why. In and out remains my number 1 burger and fries go to fast food restaurant. Always good quality and service. That’s a Lady Boss and a great grand child of the Founders.
My first In & Out experience was in 1978, while visiting Disney Land!! I had never tasted such an amazing burger!! Every thing about that burger was perfect! So, from that point forward, I never went to California without having a burger & fries from In & Out!! But, the most amazing thing that happened to me was when,In & Out built a restaurant here in Las Vegas!!😮🥰🥰🥰 It was love at first sight!! ❤❤ Thank you for giving Las Vegas, the pleasure of hosting your largest restaurant EVER!! The locals don’t normally make it a point to go on the strip, but this is an exception!! God bless you and your company!!

If you look at In-N-Out and Chick-fil-A (hands down the 2 most successful fast food franchises) they both keep customer service and employee happiness in the forefront and they remain at the top. Looks like others need to reevaluate and remember what it STILL takes to be great. If you treat your employees the same way you treat your customers it will decide what you become.

I lived in Phoenix, AZ . Love In and Out. Employees always happy. Glad they are not going public. 😊
In and out is the only “fast food” place that doesn’t sell out, man this makes me want one
I love In-N-Out, I’m getting my moneys worth, the ingredients are fresh, and the workers are honest and hard working.
Chicagoan here that has only had In and Out a small handful of times. I love it! I dream about it!
Itasca here- please calm down Buona is right next door.
KC here. First place I go after landing in LA is In n Out!😁
its crap imo! also i think many aspects of their company are unethical and illegal!

In N Out is hands down the best burger chain in the world, no one else comes close. Thank you Lynsi, you are doing a great job!
Only a Californian can tell you: eat those truly fresh and excellent fries first and fast - they don't hold up well after cooling off.
Correct.
Asking for them well helps a bit to fight the sogginess
Yep. Best right when you get em.
animal style fries brah
Get it well done and even the next day they are crisp(obviously not warm) and not soggy and taste like cardboard like McDonalds!
Proud to work there is what I’ve always experienced, too. I live in a place that has many of them.
Soooo thankful such a great woman with integrity and ethics took over the family business!
In N Out is successful because it values both its customers and employees and treats them like human beings. That’s what’s great about family businesses and is what gets lost when businesses become corporatized where people become numbers
Lindsey has her heart in the right place and the customers will notice it and come for more - good job
As a california native who moved up to seattle for work, i'm happy to hear that in n out will be coming up to WA state
Do you have Mexican and Asian foods there? Or are they hard to come by? I’ve never been to Washington.
@@meep2253There are Mexican and various Asian foods, but Seattle does not have a large Asian or Hispanic population as California.
I LOVE In-n-Out. Please don't EVER change!!
Shes such a wonderful person
thanks for treating employees and customers like 👪 family.❤
It's the only "fast-food" (although it kinda seems wrong to classify it like that, when it is soooo much more) company that I feel a sense of loyalty to!!!! Please don't ever change! 🥰
I ❤ IN-N-OUT!!!
The best fast food on the planet. The freshest, cleanest tasting food as well. In and Out is the King 👑 🍔
You know you’re doing something right
I have all the respect for her, Just for the fact that she has managed to “Keep the quality fresh.” - A BIG Thank You!
she puts the employees first, then the customers and when you do that the employees go above and beyond.
Literally in the drive thru at In-n mout San Bernardino Ca. Drive-thru currently under remodel due to high traffic area. Service is always great.
I think In N Out is the perfect example of how a corporation can be run fairly for employers and employees; and how paying employees a fair wage makes them work harder and better...all ships rise with the tide. Their prices are fair as well.
Every business should be run like this. Treating employees and customers fairly and the family is still extremely wealthy. This is a great lady.
I love In-N-Out😋😋😋😋
I grew up in the 60's 1.5 miles from the original store in Baldwin Park.
La puente here now in Colorado
Her story is so genuine and inspiring. Make you love in n out that much more.
I personally know Lindsey and both her children from when we lived in Cali. Our children went to school with her kiddos where I often taught both of them. Her son who’s 17, is soooooo friggn precious. He’s going to do good with this company!
Grew up eating In-N-Out. Live on the east coast now and every time I’m back on the West Coast, I grab a double double animal style (or two). I hope they never change.
With all the "regular" fast food places driving up their prices, you can get a great burger for a more than fair price. In N Out is where its at.
As a Californian who lived in Seattle for 23 YEARS…….Everyone I knew in Seattle (and Washington state) absolutely HATED everything about California, L.A., and In-N-Out burger!! I’m surprised they’re opening there! In-N-Out is THE BEST!!! ……and yes, I finally moved back to L.A.! 😎😁👍
same boat love LA but hate everything else abt it 😂. Also in WA state but miss living in Van Nuys. 😢
@@MarkZ_1985 …….Move BACK to L.A. one day! Life is too short! Yesterday I was in Studio City at the Starbucks on Ventura Blvd watching Ferraris and Lamborghinis drive by, and people watching as they walked by, with all the funky, colorful outfits……L.A. is a unique, eccentric place…..and the weather’s great! 🥂😎👍
'Seattle Freeze' is definitely a thing. Glad they hate everything about L.A. and California. The more people that hate it the more I get to enjoy it being just a little less crowded.
@@ericcarson342 L.A. is great!….but it’s become a wealthy person’s place. You either make it, and enjoy life there…..or move to Antlers, Arkansas or Bumfunk, Idaho! But like you said, the more people leave, the less time it takes to get around! 😎🥂
BEST BEST COMPANY IVE EVER SEEN RAN food is always fresh and the same always fresh and perfect, employees are top level I say.
They're not the 2 most successful fast-food franchises.
Costco is the same way. We'll paid employees and still profit.
How dare you compare In N Out to Chick-fil-A. Lol
They're not a franchise, and I hope they never will be.
@@DankBuds36 How can you not? Both have the highest loyalty rating by far of any restaurants. Chick is even higher and has even larger lines everywhere. Chick is the highest grossing restaurant per store.
This company has our loyalty as customers. They run the business so perfectly. They’ve mastered great service, great employees and consistently delicious food. We love in and out!
💯This is HOW to run a successful and great company - take care of your customers and associates. Your grandparents, uncle, and father would be proud of you - Lynsi 👏👏
Love Lynsi and she seems grounded in faith and character. I am sure In and Out takes great care of their employees! Her family would be proud.
Shes just not a greedy bch. It's really that simple. Every year; "we've made record profit" says every comoan then followed by "we just don't have it in the budget to give you a raise"
Lynsi sets the bar as how responsible and caring CEO’s should be. Result? 100% success. Thank you Lynsi!
In N Out is one of the only "true to their roots" companies around today.
Thanks Lindsey ❤
First , their employees are of a higher caliber, if you will, clean cut, very friendly and more on the ball than most other fast food restaurants . Food is always fresh and HOT and always made to order, and the restaurant is always clean .
Best burger at any price. Love the food and the company culture. May God be with you all.
Best burger and best prices of any. I had a combo yesterday: burger, fries and ice tea for $9.
I love this woman! I hope it never goes public
The cars go around the block at every store every day. The employees are the happiest and most energetic you will ever see in a fast-food restaurant.
the food is delicious. The staff is sooo friendly.
They just built one in Rialto California, which is like walking distance from my house I been there every day since they opened I love In and out get a 3 x 3 all the time and you can’t forget the lemon up which is 7-Up with the lemonade in and out will never let you down
Would hate to go in the bathroom right after you.
In-N-out recently opened a restaurant in my neighborhood in Webster Texas. This is where I have lunch every Friday. I always have the same thing. A double double burger and a strawberry shake. In my opinion you can’t get a better burger for five dollars and thirty cents. And their customer service and cleanliness of the store is really the best! Welcome to Texas In-N-Out!!
INO is special in all the world, as a hugely successful company built on love, quality and altruism. They don’t talk about their anonymous kindness in the communities they serve, but I’ve heard stories that brought tears to my eyes of instant generosity in response to a family in need. They support and even empower their associates. The training is amazing. Can’t say enough good about INO.
Technology is bad. That's why in n out thriving
lol technology is not bad. they are thriving due to focus and quality.
@@ThriftyCHNR and simplicity
@@JesusIsReal925 No I was correct in saying it was focus. Running a business like that is complex. You hate technology/science because it exposes your religion as a fraud.

Grew up in so-cal. Lived near the mom with sheep on a little farm in Covina / San Dimas. Thanks for coming to Colorado Springs, we love you!
Food is always great and the customer service is always on point because of how the workers are treated and paid. Meanwhile, every other fast food company is crying about increasing their workers wages and warning that the costs will be passed onto the customer because its unsustainable.
in and out is the only fast food chain that still cares. Support them people they are a national treasure.
Just seeing them dedicating and praying the business to God is very telling! God bless In and Out.
I am from South America and have been in California for 34 years and feel like In-N-Out is part of the California identity....
Lindsey, please keep it privately owned. A loyal customer from LA. 🎉
My favorite fast food restaurant of all time!
Thank you for looking out for the customers and always providing great quality food!
I live next to the very first In-N-Out in Arizona, Avondale, and since the day it opened up 25 years ago there has been a line at the driver through ever since. It is the best burger ever!!!
