@@pushpander5753as mentioned by another comment, toothpaste is abrasive, so you are essentially polishing your watch. Some kits for car headlights use a similar paste with abrasive materials in it.

I only do it once. Remove only small scratches, I have not tried to do it for large ones and I definitely do not recommend it for frequent use
