I am French and I don't speak english very well, so excuse me. What I have to say is I am very happy to have found your videos. I bought your book - on second hand site - for 30 slippers. I had difficults to begin, because I dont knit usually, and I didn't understand the technics. But I persevered, and now I am knitting the fourth pair of slippers, for my family, and I am very proud ! They are exactly like I wished it, more beautiful than all I saw on the net. Thank you very much !
I have been researching felting, (not necessarily slippers) but how to knit and felt.No matter how many other videos I watch yours are always the best, the most informative, easy to understand. your tutorials make so much sense. So, now I am going to have to make slippers.Thank you.
I'm in love with you Arne & Carlos... I love all the things you are doing... everything... not just your crocheting and knitting... I love your conversations... I wish I can crochet and knit like you both...
What a lovely and Ideal couple ! Also great teachers for knitting. Thank you very much for sharing your wisdom and love for knitting with other people.
These are the best slippers I’ve made - so happy. Normally I would hand felt with merino roving top. These work out really well. They also look really good and stylish. The felting process sooooo easy. Thank you
Knitting with two threads looks like a super power-like x-Ray vision or leaping over a tall building. Color work is the most intimidating thing about knitting to me. Using two threads is every bit as intimidating. Watching you both do it...I think my brain actually stopped processing for a minute. Incredible.
Sarah Harper incredible. I’m such a new knitter! It is my goal to attempt this by Christmas. Right now, I’m just practicing getting more comfortable with the basics.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom. I have found the Scandinavian knitting technique to be easy to get used to. I am 82 and have knitted in the English way ever since i learned how to knit. I can now do either way and it really has changed my life. I have ordered a copy of your slipper book and can not wait to get started.
You guys are just too adorable. Thank you for the this tutorial. I am starting right now as I am freezing my feet off. And speaking of freezing that Washington DC video was funny.
I got this book for Christmas and tonight I am watching this again before I cast on. The two threads alternating advice is great. Thanks. And a Happy New Year to you for 2019/2020! Going to be Toasty!
Do you Arne and Carlos have tutorials on how to read knitting patterns ? Your knitted works are beautiful. The wool you use gives the finished garments a professional look.
I watched a utube video a while back where a lady had some Sami knitwear from a museum which included an odd glove which had survived over 100 years. She had analysed it’s construction and found that despite being of one colour wool, the areas which would be more likely to wear out, like the palm eg, were knitted with two threads. She also had small remnants of colour work which she recreated. I think you would find it interesting.
Greeting You guys have made my night, I have laughed and smile at the same time. Going to make a these and have some fun so happy I have come across you great video.
The first pair I made - three colour clog - have been raved about, so much so they have asked for another pair! So off I go again. Feedback is they are the warmest and most comfortable slippers ever!
I struggled with the pattern first time round. It is worth doing all the way to the heel first and practice it. The key points are knit with both strands together on the last stitch. Then when you turn and slip this last stitch onto the new needle it is nice and firm. Another point I found useful is that knitting 2 together closes the hole. Then you knit with the 2 strands together. I only figured it out from the video.
I bought the basic slipper pattern for the colorwork boot pattern. Had I known there was a book available I would have just bought the whole book. Not a gripe guys, I love your work. Kind of stuck...
I really enjoy that you are both real knitters with your individual methods! Would there be any advantage in using the twisted two yarn or should I stick with the alternate yarns?
Definitely going to try knitting these. However I think I would need to find that music to knit by - I can't stop tapping my feet to it!!! Thanks again!
You two Are sooooo cute... And you Arne make that look so easy... But it's not easy is it... And I'm growing green hairs trying to do these socks 😢😢😢oh my God what I'm going to do... I really really want to do this
Hi, i love your design. But I have a question. I cannot find a filz yarn just like you explained in german markt. All of schachenmayr wash and filz it yarn will be about 8.00mm (US 11) - 9.00mm. Is it ok when I use it to knit a slipper as your tutorial?
I am doing my first slipper from 30 Slippers book, I love the book but wish you would do TH-cam to show transition to heel flap and knit and purl rows of flap to help see how not to block stitches when turning
Ok the toe decrease is also challenge. I had to work it out mathematically to understand the pattern. Points to note. The decrease is in 4 sections. Starts in the middle of the sole, then the side, the middle of the top and then the other side. Round 46 (medium) if you knit as suggested you get 20 stitches and not 16 to finish off.
There is a small mistake in the french version, but I corrected it, ans now it is just perfect ! I have calculated the number of stitches and rows, and I have done a tuto for larger feet, and I'll do one other for my grandson wich is 7 years old. 😊
Hi Arne and Carlos, i don’t know if you will see this, the video being a few years old already. Anyway I am knitting the basic slippers, and have a problem with picking the stitches on the side of the heel flap, when i pick them and knit they are too loose and it create a few holes along the side of the slipper. Will this be resolve with the felting ? Is there something that i can do in the future to make these side stitches more tight? Thank for the advices they will be appreciated.
Hi guys! I bought your book and knitted the slippers with fishermans wool on s11 needles and within 18 mins of the washing machine they shrunk to a child size ( I made mens large) The gauge was correct, was this wool not appropriate ?
Benene Lane As we write in the book, all yarns will felt differently. Perhaps you can try again, using a lower temperature and a shorter program. If that doesn't work, you'll have to find another yarn. Finding the right yarn is always a challenge when felting. Good luck!
Hi I’m enjoying your show I just found you which I would have found you a long time a go. I’m looking for the sweater that you are wearing with a round coller around your neck . I look and look I gave up so I’m asking for help thanks Marj

Same here! It scares me!!
LaShay Van Zandt it’s really quite easy when you get the hang of it! I’m 15 and I managed to knit these
Sarah Harper incredible. I’m such a new knitter! It is my goal to attempt this by Christmas. Right now, I’m just practicing getting more comfortable with the basics.
LaShay Van Zandt That’s so cool! I wish you well on your knitting journeys!

Bravi ,io avevo preso il libro delle palle di Natale.
Thank you!
I bought the pattern for basic slippers, but I don’t see directions for the longer cuffs. Do you just knit even for as long as you want the cuff?
Hi Ramone, it is best to contact us through our website regarding any pattern related questions.
Hi there! Does it matter which way you go with the pattern?? Or the colors as you go?
Hi Kasandra, you can get the written pattern on our site arnecarlos.com.

I knit my socks with a heel flap also and could you do a kitchener stitch to close up the toe?
Hi I’m enjoying your show I just found you which I would have found you a long time a go. I’m looking for the sweater that you are wearing with a round coller around your neck . I look and look I gave up so I’m asking for help thanks Marj
Hi Marjorie, the sweaters we are wearing are vintage finds. Welcome to our channel!
The heel is similar to a Japanese short row, right?
