He did put entire heart into it, which is one of the reasons why ff8 remains number 1 for me, but not the only one. No ff after that had the same impact on me. 0:29 - shorten the length of the flute so that it sounds more harsh and put some biting sound on it (play with the volume level). Just try it, I think you will like it as much as I do. It sounds too soft, it lacks power I think. Very cool job! Thank you! It's very pleasant to listen to and remember the gameplay =)

Same Brother, I was too excited after the middle of the game and kinda rushed to the end and wasn't leveled enough for this fight, hadn't unlocked all my abilities in the castle and Griever ripped me into pieces with shockwave pulsar
Biggest problem with FF8 is once you know how to break it, you basically just start one-shoting bosses and you never get to enjoy the full music scores
This song is so underrated because it's only appears once when griever show up and he died so quick so it's like a hidden song. Hidden masterpiece. Even so, it's not an easy song to cover. Someone can cover it but not as BITES as the original. But this one i like it

I recall trying to kill Griever so fast that he wouldn't be able to use Shockwave Pulsar, cause it wiped my party.... Turns out that even if you kill him, he still casts it before snuffing it. Disadvantage of that strat is that you don't get to hear this track like, at all.
love this remake. only gripe is your trills aren't quite trilly enough. idk what the proper term is, but it starts at 2:13. what i'm trying to say is that the notes aren't distinct enough from one another. the trill just ends up sounding like a trombone slur (played trombone for a long time. its one of the only instruments that can pull off a smooth slur without distinct punctuated notes)
Yes you are right! Sounds more like a legato than a trill, just I didn't have a proper articulation for trills and I had to recreate it with a legato cromatism (kind of a passage note) in order to give the trill sensation. The effect is not the same as a realistic trill! Anyway the overall sound of the Remix I think it's good :) thanks for your feedback!
I’ve always been fascinated with what Griever means to Squall. Squall treats Griever like fucking Franks Red Hot, he puts that shit on everything, and i realized why. It’s this toxic standard he set up for himself to “be a lion”. To strive to be completely independent and fearless. To be this stone-cold faceless shell. Quistis said in Trabia Garden that he would always be fighting Seifer saying “i gotta do my best by myself or else i won’t be able to see sis”. And then when Rinoa talks to him about lions in Galbadia Garden she tells him that he reminds her of pride and strength, the qualities of a lion, only for Squall to reply with “I wish”. Griever is the figure he’s constantly trying to achieve, which is why hes always fighting Seifer. He mentions how he only fought him because “he can’t run away”. He finds himself fighting and bleeding for a standard he can’t achieve. Bleeding for the sole sake of feeling stronger and liking yourself more has always been very relatable to me. Yet at the end of the game, it’s not Squall’s fearlessness and independence that saves everyone. Squall will always hold very close and dear to my heart for how painfully close he resonates with me

Tfw you realize Griever doesn't even exist. He was the model Guardian Force Squall made up in his head that Ultimecia turned real by using her sorceress powers.
Am I the only one that viewed griever as an evil Ifrit? Think about it. aside from looking like him, Its ultimacias GF. And ultimacia is in theory rhiona. Ifirit was the first GF squall obtains through combat and thus his first true GF. As we learn after tribia garden, the first GF you obtain basically absorbs your memories and personality and bonds the strongest with you. Wouldn't it make sense that after squall's death in one of the former timelines that Squalls first GF transferred to rhiona and thus Rhionas rage mixed with ifrits vengence created this monster, and since GF effectively control their users memories it drove rhiona to absolute madness and thus turned her into ultimacia. If only the game makers had more imagination. Sigh.
The thought of rinoa never passing her sorceress powers to another and never being able to die and living for a thousand years. The whole time being driven mad by hopeless longing wanting to be with squall and becoming ultimecia just to see him again, even if its for him to kill her and put her out of her misery. That's just too much for me. Such a sweet girl like rinoa shouldn't suffer like that.
Ff8 had the best soundtrack of all the games by far, and I will die on that hill.

Square Enix should had added a config option to switch between the original and your version of the soundtrack on the Remaster.

Jesus, this battle was sick and this theme just made it all for me and the game up to that point. FF8 is just bad ass and so is your remix.
It's still one of the most intense boss battle themes, especially when that shock wave pulsar kicks in, then you know that shit is about to get real.
Fits so well with the view of Griever's battle, him just floating in front of the party and the camera centered and far away.
