Been waiting like 20 years for Legendary Beast to make it into a mainstream rework. Actually though, whenever I would listen to it I lamented that it wasn't in anything. When Eden was announced and was FF8-inspired my *very first* reaction was I hope Legendary Beast is in the last tier! So man, I was pretty excited. It's been a long time coming.
Legendary Beast probably gets more play in FF14 than in 8. *Squall uses Renzokukan on Griever* Griever starts Shockwave Pulsar and Legendary Beast Starts Griever collapses Extreme starts *Next turn*
The Legendary Beast is extremely underrated and underappreciated, not to mention that it's also underused in FF8 like what DracoSuave explained. It's one of my favourite tracks if not my favourite Uematsu's work in FF8.
He fusion danced with Thancred as well. Dont forget they both were her protectors at one point. The reason why Ranjit was so crazy is because he watched her die before. And it broke him. So he smothered her and refused for her to grow and do what must be done. Poor guy.

Contrasting that, Ran'jit was the MOST involved with her, given that she resembled his departed daughters. It's essentially a paternal yin-yang - both philosophical extremes were played to here.

@@spencerdurette2859 i like to believe that thancred is not part of fatebreaker as a negative component, unlike innocence and ranjit. ryne says this enemy was born from her hopes and fears and how i see it is that thancred represents her hopes and ranjit and innocence her fears. when ryne became her own person and minfilia disappeared, thancred accepted it and moved on, there would be no reason to try and use this now long resolved problem of the past against ryne or anyone. i think that if mitron was able to gather all this info from rynes memories then he mustve also seen that this isnt a problem anymore

This fight on day 1 was the embodiment of a bad time. It was no better a few days later when I had to *heal* it. The fact that I knew what to expect did not change the fact that most of the rest of the group didn't.

YES! So much yes! This is even better than FF8's version! Too bad FF8 mucked the song's timing though. For some reason, someone thought it was a good idea to not have the song start until Griever used Shockwave Pulsar. Even when I wasn't overpowered, I still killed him too fast. I literally had to stall the fight so I didn't kill him before he used the attack and not as a final attack.
I heard this theme and literally screamed in voice chat! Felt like a 15yr old all over again staying up late in my room on school nights, fighting against Griever 😭😭😭

Obviously this is meant to be thancred mixed with Rhanjit...but, It just hit me Fatebreaker is like, a junction between squall and griever gone horribly wrong

From what this boss looks like its a fusion of Thancred, Ranj'it, Innocence, The final boss of mount gulg(for the legs), the dragon being fused with Hraesvalgr, and the last reference being the bottom horns of his outfit which I believe is a reference to Greiver from FF8. There is a lot going on with this design and fight but its becoming my personal favorite of the tier.
Yeeeah no. It's just Thancred and Ran'jit as a Sin Eater. The lower legs as well as the scaly bits are from Ran'jit's transformed state and the dragon is a sin eater version of Guakamatz.

From what this boss looks like its a fusion of Thancred, Ranj'it, Innocence, The final boss of mount gulg(for the legs), the dragon being fused with Hraesvalgr, and the last reference being the bottom horns of his outfit which I believe is a reference to Greiver from FF8.
There is a lot going on with this design and fight but its becoming my personal favorite of the tier.
Yeeeah no. It's just Thancred and Ran'jit as a Sin Eater. The lower legs as well as the scaly bits are from Ran'jit's transformed state and the dragon is a sin eater version of Guakamatz.
The entire boss is Ryne's memories specifically. I think you're not giving it enough credit if you think the design is just as basic as that.
@@mcadogan629 The fight takes place in the gaol she spent most of her life in and the creature speaks with Thancred's voice, but talks exactly like Ran'jit. He doesn't use any of Innocence's powers because by the time she saw him, the Warrior of Darkness already beat him
@@kaihedgie1747 there's no explanation for why there's a sin eater involved with it though. Cause Gaukamatz is just red normally anyway.

After clearing the tier and practically having this fight on farm, everytime I hear “the legendary beast” my mind just triggers thoughts of “PLEASE HEAL ME. THE BLEED. HEALERS. PLEASE.”
