Besides the tint and red undercarriage light , best set up I've seen on a 470.

@@nkautos How are the breaks on your GX? I heard that this model and its Toyota sibling suffer from too soft, too slow breaks.
If you did some upgrades to breaks or can recommend smth I'd love to hear that!
Alex Zamai When I bought my car the brakes where recently changed so I haven’t had a problem so far. But I do know what you are talking about, there are a lot of people that mention the same thing. There are two options to change the brake problem. The first one is the cheaper alternative and that would be to convert to the gx460 brakes since they are practically the same shell but better components on the inside. The second option which is more expensive would be to upgrade to the RR racing brake kit for the Gx. Hopefully down the road I plan on going that alternative when I get some funds for it!
Love this truck and excited to see what more you do with it. Probably my favorite GX because it's right on the fine line of being off road aggressive yet still luxury and modded kind of like a JDM car. I am only a little disappointed there aren't more videos of the exterior of it in action, even if it's just acceleration or driving over curbs or something.

The light underneath makes it look like a Mexican owned Tahoe 😜. BTW the setup looks great.
I was hoping for the LEDS to be white but took them off a little bit later. I initially wanted the lights to turn on white when the car was unlocked like the welcome lights on the OEM running boards. I still plan on getting a better kit to accomplish this in the future.

Beautiful. Not into the red lights, but it’s your preference and I think it looks great regardless and goes well with the car. I think this is the best I’ve seen. Very clean and still looks like a luxury car. I just bought one last week

Awesome video. Curious so I can get an idea, how many miles and what did it cost you. Was it bone stock? I’m in miami shopping for one. Also how is the leather holding up?
theVRpilot I got it for about average market price. It had 130k when I bought it and it was bone stock when I got it with all the service records. I did drive to Texas to pick it up just because the cars are cleaner down there compared to the ones in Chicago. Everything in the car was super nice even the leather. The dash was replaced by the previous owner a couple thousand miles ago.

We just picked up an 04' GX470 for wifey. Installed sport smoke headlights and all interior/exterior to LED's today. Fedex delivered her CAI an hour ago, install tonight or tomorrow. Subbed to see what else you have up your sleeve. Good work, but did you CAI it prior to the exhaust upgrade?
Wonderful, glad to have another GX470 member! I installed my CAI after I did a custom exhaust. I also included a throttle spacer and recently installed a catless y-pipe. I am currently looking for a nice catback that doesn't have a lot of drone while on the highway.
How did you get the trd wheels and tires size on with stock set up?
I have an 08 GX470 and looking to do this but don't want to lift it
Gerardo Fierro I had to do the fender liner trim mod and hammer down the pinch welds to be able to put this setup on. You should be able to put the 265/70/17 BFGs with TRD rims on without the spacers and not need to trim anything. I’m not sure though because I didn’t go that route. Awesome set up! I ordered the BF Goodrich KO in a 275/70/17 to wrap some TRD wheels. You think those will fit without any issues? Lift kit will be installed at the end of October but looking to put the wheels on this Saturday
Hulk1906 You might have to trim the fender liner just a tad, but you shouldn’t have too many problems!
NK Autos no issues on the back, but I do have some issues in the front with the fenders. Until I get the car lifted in two weeks, I’m making all of my turns wide. I’m thinking do I still have to trim the fenders even with the lift kit? The TRD/KO combo is amazing!
@@Hulk1906 Once you get the lift kit there should be no more problems with rubbing. Let me know how it turns out!
NK Autos the gx has been lifted. I went with the iron man stage 2. Looks awesome, but there was still rubbing in the front even after the lift. Trimming the fender liners was done. The Liner on the bumper still catches when I make tight turns (I.e. parallel parking). I don’t get as much rubbing as I did before trimming so I’m happy.

Did you say 2 in spacers? If that's the case no issues with running spacers that big?
I was running 265/70/17 BFG tires with 17 inch 0 offset TRD wheels. Along with this I had 2 inch spacers. With those specs I had about -38 offset with no lift. After lifting the car the wheel was pushed further into the BM so I had to take the spacers off and I decided to run -12 offset 285/70/17(33s). I had to trim a good amount when I was running the spacers. I would recommend getting some different offset wheels instead of running spacers.
Who installed the remote start and how much was it? Nice to have that in Chicago
ListersRP I installed the kit myself. It took a good amount of time to get everything wired up. I know that most Lexus Dealerships can install the viper remote start but it’s usually more expensive. You will have to remove the dash and splice wires to be able to install the remote start, so if you aren’t comfortable doing it yourself I would try calling a dealerships and seeing what they quote! All together the kit was about 200$ when I installed it at home. If you have anymore questions don’t be afraid to ask!
My remote start was $600 including a warranty. 2 way viper

Joshua Deleon I’ve been wanting to get a group of GX owners together around the Chicago land area for a meet in the summer. I will try and get something together and see if we can make something happen. Exhaust wise, it is 3 inch piping all the way back from the cats with a borla resonator connected to a y pipe with a muffler delete at the end going to 2 3 inch black chrome tips. I got the exhaust work done at a shop in Chicago. The shop is called Garcia Mufflers, the shop if off of Lawrence. They do amazing work there for a good price! I would recommend going there if you are looking for any exhaust work on your GX!

The ones I bought are no longer on eBay. The most important part is to get some hub centric ones with good reviews if possible!
Nice rig. Would you say $17k is a fair price for a 2009 model in EXCELLENT condition with $128k miles? It has recent maintenance records for fluid flushing, timing belt replacement, spark plug replacement, and all mileage interval maintenance. The air suspension works well too.
Scott Watkins Sounds to me like a pretty good deal. Did you check the vin to see if there are any accidents listed? Also make sure to take a look on the undercarriage for any substantial portions of rust. Overall the Gxs are great cars, the only things that ends up killing them is the rust or the air suspension in the rear.
NK Autos I actually just realized that there was a “Very Minor” accident on the CARFAX. Side wipe, rear-driver side. No visible damage and no rust anywhere. Air suspension may have been replaced OEM because it worked very well (all though I’d swap with springs eventually anyway)
Scott Watkins Is it a non-nav/ non ml package? I have the ML package and I am having a hard time finding a compatible upgrade for the stereo. If the car comes with everything you want then I would say you should pull the trigger for it. I truly love mine, wouldn’t trade it for anything. I still have a long list of parts I want to do to get the car to where I want it. I will continue to post on here with future upgrades, I have some cool and unique things in mind.
NK Autos It had Nav but I’m not sure about ML. Is that the dvd screens and what not? If so it didn’t have that....I’ll definitely throw you a subscribe then because I’ll be looking for mods to do too.
Scott Watkins the ML is the Mark Levinsons audio system, it is very hard to upgrade the speakers to aftermarket ones due to the amp restrictions. Thank you for subscribing! If you have anymore questions don’t be afraid to message me on Instagram if you have it!

Maxim’s DIY Garage Thank you for the kind words and the support! I am currently running without a spare tire due to my exhaust and the tire size. It is a little risky for the time being but I hope to get a 5th wheel mount for the back sometime in the future. I visit Club Lexus and IH8MUD often but haven’t created an account as of yet. Powersproductions130 When I filmed the video it was at normal height from front to back. I will have a video up soon showing a leveling kit I got for the front. Hoping to get a lift down the road.
