You made me laugh about the snow in Omaha. OH BOY did we get snow. I have 9 to 10 inches. For a forcast that said 1-2 last night to 10 inches the next day, wish I could do my job like that and not get fired. Glad to see you doing things for your self and spending time with the family. My dad was OTR and he was so tired when he came home that he didn't want to do anything and with his health issues when we were teenagers he couldn't do the thing you do with your kids. Keep doing what you are doing and we will be here for you.
The tramper looks really good 👍 the camera shots that you get are really nice 😊 the lake stories are really sad 😞 Your supper looked really good and tasty 😋 You have really made the camper nice and cozy, plus we agree that using propane is a lot safer and easy to carry for sites w/out electric and water. 😊👍😁👋🦮🐕🦺🥶🥶❄️🥶
Way back in a time long ago, a friend and I and our wives used to motorcycle camp with our old Shovlhead HDs. We both built our own trailers for the bikes. Before a trip, we would get together and decide what to load in the trailers. That way we had a ton of stuff and no duplicates. When we would set up camp if possible we would get two picnic tables and put them together. We had a cannon to cover the tables in case of rain. We each brought a Coleman stove giving us 4 burners for cooking. Breakfast would allow us to have two frying pans and a coffee pot and one pot for grits. I know, yall don't eat grits in your part of the country. We had a setup like no other. Lots of room for clothes, food, two coolers, air mattress's lanterns. You name it, we had it. Some good old days back then. I am 70 years old now and those camping days are gone. Savor the time Kurt. At your age you have a long way to go.
I built a custom trailer for camping. Gas stove in a drawer, 30 gallon water tank, little air compressor for the portable shower, foldout toilet seat storage for the tents/camping gear and clothes and coolers etc. Even have a spot for my atv! Even went black diamond cut covers and matching rims like my truck. Looks like a big box and an atv on a trailer.
I do have to say the camper looks a whole lot nicer than when you first got it. It sure looked cozy for you. The nicest finishing touch has to be mom's super warm afghan. I'm so glad you are able to get out and enjoy things the way you had hoped. Thank you for sharing the trip. Stay warm, and God bless.
I am glad you have the carbon monoxide warning. I know Buddy heaters are supposed to be safe indoors but it it flames it makes gas. The camper is a great way to get some time alone and in peace, when you learn how. I used to love throwing a sleeping bag and some chow, getting on a good horse and going to the hills. So much peace. Enjoy and havagudun Kurt.
I have the same camper and will be redoing my interior ceiling also. Plus I will also repairing rear lift mechanism as it came through the roof. As soon as winter is over.
Kurt what exactly is not functioning on the furnace ? To start with make sure you have 10.5-13.5vdc and make sure you have 50% propane or more in the tank Also check igniter is clean and propane orphis and shield around it is clear and clean of spiders and such because propane attracts them if these don’t work I will give you some other things to try
I know you say you don't read books and I understand so in my opinion (and we all know how those are) if you find a genre of book you like the escape of a book helps turn the brain off it let's you escape and when your done for the day the mind os quieter. Again just how it works for me but I thought I'd give my two cents. Excellent content thank you for the time you put into it!
Have you considered a Webasto-style diesel heater? Every truck that I've had with one would keep the sleeper warm/hot enough to bake a turkey overnight and it only uses about a gallon of diesel in 12 hours. There are foreign-made replicas available on Amazon.
@@aaronpatterson2369: Yep, an actual Webasto runs about $1200. The foreign-made knockoffs are less than $200. For a big truck that's going to idle all night and use 8-10 gallons of diesel, at close to 4 bucks per gallon, you get your money back on a real Webasto pretty quickly. For a camper that won't see constant use, I'd be tempted to go with the knockoff. In either case, it's a good idea to install a top quality CO2 detector.
Just loved your winter camping. My dog was in my lap and when you tested your Co2 device, she just trembled at noise. Funny. I hope your dogs are not effected in this way.
Many will question you about your decision to take a break from 🚛. You know you better than anyone else. EXCEPT SARAH. Taking a break and do. Less stressed. Many Americans are committing suicide. Young and old trying to do what's best for others or thinking what someone might think . So in the end they give up ⚰️🪦. Keep doing you and your family and when it's time you'll know it. Enjoy your children. Soon like other children they'll be gone. Doing what you and Mrs Sarah have taught them. B SAFE Mr SCHIMDT 🚚💨💨💨💨
Before you give up on the furnace check with a camper dealer with a good shop. I had a pickup camper a little larger than yours and never used that much for the furnace.
Real nice video. It's good you got some things fixed, and cleaned a little, nice meal and some stories. Yeah, I had a friend that drowned. Very bizarre. Young guy, healthy and then....goes under...and gone. How does that fn happen? I don't know any other details. I saved one person from drowning years later, and then a family member had a water related accident and died a couple weeks later. I would have saved them all if I had been there.
Good video Kurt! Nothing like cooking a good meal in the camper and enjoying it. (Bag or fresh, doesn't matter much. Good is good) Seems to me like you are missing the mountains WAY too much. When the kids get done with school, hook a wagon to that W9 and move out here to Wyoming. We've got room for you and the wife. That KW will haul loads just as easily out here! Stay safe!
That is one thing I love to do: Get away by myself and just enjoy camping in the middle of nowhere. Sorry your tank ran out. That happened to me 2 weeks ago. Had to rely on those little green one pound tanks for my Little Buddy heater. That was not fun.
Doesn't anybody use matches to light fires anymore? Throughout the video I could imagine how peaceful it was and thought of the relaxation I'd have with just a good book (a habit I've taken up since retirement) plus access to TH-cam. Oh, and probably a radio during baseball season.
I found going somewhere with no cell service works for me to be able to shut the brain off. Luckily, I only live a couple hours from the rockie mountains up here in Alberta, Canada
Yes the front of them campers do leak or one did leak it leak along the seams on the roof were the sheets of metal were overlapping to you may need to seal the whole roof we used some white like paint sealer that is used to seal new caravan s from factory caravan sales shops may have it on site for sale
Nothing wrong with those skillet meals a tall. I eat em probably more than I should. I doctor them a bit with sauteed onions and peppers and some mushrooms thrown in for affect
Hi from North East Kansas . Weather man blow it here said 3in got just what it took to cover ground they even Closed School I'm the 777th like on this video
Hey Kurt, I watch a fellow up in New Brunswick, " Slim Potatohead". Screwy handle, but avid winter camper. He reasoned through a variety of small camper heaters, issues with electrical demand, condensation, fuel consumption, safety, convenience, fresh air supply, output. Dickenson are much used in marine applications, mostly stainless construction. Not cheap, but very effective. Slim is also a Dork in his way, and he went out of his budget comfort zone making the decision to purchase a Dickenson. @$1500, almost 3 times your camper cost. The chimney retrieves combustion air as well as exhausts gasses, (closed vent) th-cam.com/video/jg8rjOQXvMU/w-d-xo.html. If this link does not work, this is the Video title that should find Slim's review. 3 Improvements, Now the RESULTS! Winter Camping in an RV Part 5 He has install vids as well. I looked up Dork for meaning. Noun. A quirky, silly and/or stupid socially inept person, or one who is out of touch with contemporary trends. Often confused with nerd and geek, but does not imply the same level of intelligence. Been a daily viewer since around 8,000 subs. 77 year old driver out of Montana years ago. Love God.
Question has anyone ever came up on you while out camping and second do you Cary a hand gun of some sort for protection while your out camping for protection if so could you show us what you cary for protection
Too bad the wind is blowing 200 miles per hour or you could have a camp fire. My favorite part of camping is the bacon, eggs and coffee in the morning cooked outside.
Hi Kurt, i was just wondering if you are going to still keep trucking. I have followed you for some time. First time i have made a comment. So again, are you still going to do trucking or are you done?

It took me an hour to watch this video. When you turned the flashlight on in your eyes, I lost it. I couldn't stop laughing.
I may not be camping but these videos help me feel relaxed like I am. Thanks for including us in your adventure today.
You should get a wet stone to sharpen the hatchet while the cookies are backing, very relaxing. Almost like yoga😂
"Voila" French cuisine for glamping. Ooh-la-la!
The tramper looks really good 👍 the camera shots that you get are really nice 😊 the lake stories are really sad 😞

We got 7-8". 😲 For once, the weather people didn't lie.
Thanks Kurt kinda like the camping and home time videos.

With the furnace and fridge running it usually would go several days on a tank. My camper was not a pop up so it was better insulated

You should look at one of those Chinese diesel heaters. They work great. Dry heat. Honestly don't use that much fuel
I’m hoping to watch you bake chocolate chip cookies!😊

Cool video. I love camp all year around but I think that is a lot of weight and stress on that outside tire you have the wood under
Amazing as always. why you don't paint your camper same color as your dulle. it will be amazing.
God bless you
Kurt you need to get back in the Kdub and start trucking again you've had to much time off, time to straighten out the freight HAPPY Truckin🤘🇺🇸🤙
You need a thermo tent it supposed to keep the cold out.
Stay warm, nice video. Am I the only one that notices your left backup light does not work?
That Viola meal package says-feeds 2-4 people 😂
I'm guilty of the same sin of not being able to shut off and relax.... As I watch this at 3am

You need to come out to Oregon to camp sometime
The bunk heaters they put on these late model semi trucks here pretty inexpensive and they go right into your camper
As long as you have WD-40 & duct tape, then you are good to go. 👍
I’ve never heard the ice before ..
That's call bubble wrap
What's the name of that shiny stuff ?
Hi Kurt.
Does the add on campa affect your insurance, I'm in the middle of converting a 2016 Mercedes, there's quite a few regs to be sorted.👍
When are you getting back in "THE TRUCK"???
End of march
Are you ever going to show trucking videos Again!!!!! (might need to change the channel name) sure miss them

You and little bud should go out and target practice sometime let’s just see who’s better at target practice
Did you say you were near Appleton? Wisconsin? If so i hope we meet camling sometime. My hubby is a truck driver. You would have a lot in common.
