Our trucking terminal had outlets by all the docks. Each truck had an extension cord to plug them in. The outlets were on a timer, so everything was warm by the time that the drivers reported.

They put paraffin wax in diesel to lubricate the injector pump and injectors, otherwise they'd wipe themselves out, but then you have the problem that at some temperature the fuel will gel (or wax as we say I'm GB). We don't have different diesel fuels in GB the refineries are supposed to alter the mix as required for the temperatures.
I used that and either to kill gophers, i'd go probing the ground near a fresh dug outlet, when i stuck the ground and it gave way i knew i had it's tunnel. I'd spray about a 1/4 to about 1/2 a can step back and drop a match, sometimes the ground would shake a little. The gopher would come running out on fire or the gopher holes would stop and that's how i knew i got it.
How ya doing Mr. Schmidt, good ol winter snuck up on ya but that's okay you handled it.
