@@usmc-veteran73-77 Most Koreans know well. I know that the United States was able to become an independent nation in 1945 because of the Pacific War victory, and that it fought in the Korean War to achieve freedom democracy in the Soviet and communist supremacy of China. So I think the United States and Korea are not simply friends, but clan countries. If the United States is in danger, that would be our danger. I pray for the brave warriors who have settled in a small country thousands of miles away in order to defend freedom democracy even in the whirlwind of past history. @@jerryfletcher4861 well said my young South Korean friend. I hope there's always peace and never a war again in Korea. I do not think Korea will ever be reunited. The North loves socialism and the South loves Capitalism, like The States. Stay safe, and enjoy your freedom.
Some advice from an old Marine Sgt. Join up when you finish high school. While you're in take college classes and maybe you will be chosen for OCS and become an Officer. The pays a lot better. BUT if you stay in as an enlisted Marine, that's even better. Semper Fi 1973-1977....OUT

Proud of you 11th MEU, great job in the Pacific. I served 13 months on Okinawa during a bad time, April & May 1975. 1st/2nd Bn 9th Marines lost over 20 Marines during Operation Frequent Wind aka Evacuation of Saigon and Battle of Koh Tang Island, Cambodia aka The Mayaguez Incident. I’m proud to claim the title, I’ve been reserves and now active! I’ve been all over the US but never deployed, ive only been to Okinawa, but only for 6 months. I’m a Cpl now, and I’m 2 months out from Sgt and it only gets better with time. Too many young marine focus on the door out rather than the opportunities that are put in front of them. Soon I’ll be back to MCRD San Diego for some fun in the sun and to become a drill instructor. I’m excited for the future and it’s still crazy that within the year I’ll be wearing that smoky, turning your son into a Marine. Also I finally get to see the other end of the spectrum. I still remember boot camp like yesterday, and I never forgot where I came from. Rah Devils
Proud of you Marine. Im an old Marine who did one tour. 1973 to 1977. Speaking of Okinawa I on the island, H&S Bn Hq, 3rd Force Service Regiment during the Battle of Koh Tang Island Cambodia aka The Mayaguez Incident, young Marines from 2nd Bn 9th Marines. During this time, so sad, we lost over 20 young Marines.
