- It has been an exciting twelve months for Kiko, full of personal growth and new frontiers. Reintegration is a gradual journey for every orphan, but we are immensely proud of the progress he has made in a year. As he continues to explore his independence, we will be there to support him every step of the way.

Established in 1977, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (SWT) operates the world’s most successful orphan elephant rescue and rehabilitation program, rescuing and hand-rearing orphaned elephants and other animals that have lost their mothers, all too often as a result of human activity. But we do much more than this. Through our Aerial, Anti-Poaching and Mobile Veterinary Units, we safeguard the natural environment and provide immediate assistance to wild animals in need. We also secure irreplaceable wilderness areas so that animals will always have space to roam and work with local partners and communities to ensure people and wildlife can live alongside one another.

Giraffe have such beautiful eyes. Don’t let them become extinct, they have done nothing wrong and do not deserve it.

With all the attention the elephants get, it's easy to forget that they help all other African animals just as tirelessly. I wish I lived there to help in their care.

What beautiful footage thank you. Giraffes are magnificent majestic creatures...nothing else in nature looks like them, they are unique and wondrous. It is so sad they're still poached and hunted. It's a hard life living alongside natural predators, without humans to contend with. I'm delighted they both look so well and content in your care.
