I am watching this video for the first time; I am a year late, but it was very fascinating to watch! I look forward to trying these natural healthy powders in my handmade soaps. Thank you for this lovely demonstration! :)
Grades experiment I did the hibiscus the other day and was wondering why this happened lol so happy I came across your video I got the same brown color
yes it was indeed very strange. I made an experiment with hibiskus with melt and pour, and it turned out blue. here is the video if you would like to see :th-cam.com/video/kb7d9WlrpUs/w-d-xo.html
I tried your tip. I made a soap with spirulina and it was really beautiful, but after some days it started to lose the strong green color. Do you know a way to make the color not fade? Or do you know some natural color stabilizer?
I have the same question myself. I wonder if I infuse a base oil with the spirulina and let it sit for 6 weeks and then add a clay-maybe french green clay, - if that would help the color last longer. Clay helps anchor fragrances and I wonder if it would help the color last longer. The above video just shows her mixing the color in the oil - not infusing the color in, so after 6-8 weeks of curing, I wonder if any of these colors survived the SAP process
I'm very grateful Sara for this video. 💛I was wondering how some soapers create turmeric (curcuma) soaps without speckles. I'm happy you got speckles too so I'm not alone with this. ❤️Madder seems to be great colourant, I will definitely try it one day too.
Yes absolutely! It’s all a point of an experience. I will try an infusion soon to see if it comes out smoother. Madder is great and I liked Paprika and Spirulina too.
@@sarassoap yes, this is the effect from my spirulina testing batch from last week - still stinks hahaha but I put a lot of it. If I remember I will check the measurements for you tomorrow if you want.
@@katarzynaderkacz39 That is very interesting that the smell survives saponification. Would love to hear about it and also maybe it Fades after some time? Really appreciate your infos. Hugs
Hello. I would like to learn about soap making. And I want to learn if it could use natural colorant. I'm very newbie in this, so i have some questions about how to color the cold processed soap. Is the herb belonging to pigment? And if we pre mixing it with oil, is these oil counted as part of total oil in the formula or not?
Hello. Nice that you are learning how to soap. You can mix herbs with oils before and you could take it from the total oil amount. Although a small amount will not hurt. Hope this helps. Hugs
Have you tried the soaps? Will they leave color on your skin? I know Trumic can be very strong in coloring, so I wonder if it'll leave yellowish stain on your skin..
Hey Sara, you are located in Switzerland, right? Therefore you have to follow EU cosmetic regulations. I'm wondering, where did you get your recipes assessed? Thanks for sharing :)

Gorgeous colours! Will the colours come out the same with melt and pour soap base?
Hello and thank you. I have another video natural colorants for melt and pour here th-cam.com/video/kb7d9WlrpUs/w-d-xo.html
So you have to mix color with oil first? This is really nice that you did this video. How long does it take to cure the soap, 4 wks?
I find it better like with pigments
I made hibiscus soap a month ago and was surprised even like you with the change in color 🙂
Hi Yamenei! Yes it’s incredible isn’t it? Thanks for your feedback. Appreciate it. Hugs

Have you made full batches with the spirulina? If so, how much for a 2 lb loaf?
Hi Sara. Cool experiments! Never heard of mother root powdwe, it gives a beautiful colour. Have u worked with alkanet root and indigo yet?
Madder root is a nice colorant indeed. Indigo is in my list to try definitely. Alkanet why not. Hugs

Hi Sara,
Is the notebook available to the public?
Hello! Yes it is available here amzn.to/3zx4S4L
Where can I find hibiscus 🌺 powder
In a drugstore
How did the colors disolve when used snd what about allergies??
Allergies are always a possible.
Can we get a digital download of the book since it isn't available through amazon?
it is amzn.to/3OPxTmx
würde mich intressieren wie die farben der seifen jetzt aussehen
My Hibiscus turns dark also almost black...maybe it's the hydroxide...I'm glad you did this experiment...I love using spices for colorants.❤️
That is so interesting. Thank you so much for the feedback, appreciate it. Hugs
How can get this collorss
You can check the description for options
How is the feeling of peprica when u apply it , is it burning ur skin?
no i haven't experienced this
How its affect to quality of the soap?
If you mean how the colorant affects the quality of the soap. It doesn’t
@@sarassoap thank you so much for your information 🙏🏻
How to get a blue natural color

What oil did you use to get such white soap base please?
Coconut oil

I still habe them to see how the color turns out after time. I didn’t try it yet :)
can I get the soap recipe book please
🥰🥰🥰
The spirolina doesn't smell like fish? I heard parstly powder can make nice green
Good question. I wouldn’t say fish. More like algae I guess but I can’t smell
anything after saponification.
There is blue spirulina. I’m not sure how that survives in soap. Indigo might be cost effective. Spirulina will sell more I think. Thank you
Yes you are right on the price of indigo, but I didn’t know about spirulina
Hydroxide change all your colours either black or fade one....I have experienced several time.
Great
You didn’t include the link to actually buy the natural powders online js
correcting it now. thanks
I added colour in the distilled water and later added NaOH to it. I tried twice and my glass bowls cracked. Why is that?
Yes you never want to add lye in glass. Always use Stainless steel (no aluminum) or PP5 plastic
@@sarassoap Thank you so much. But the question remains. Can I add colour to water and later add NAOH if I use a steel vessel?
Paprika could be skin allergic
Thank you
Would have been nice to see how the color lasted after 6-8 weeks of curing.
Very good idea. I will make a Video how they are after 2 years

Hello Maria. You can send me an email with the specific question. Thank you
@@sarassoap hey sara I did send you the mail but you didn’t respond
Most of the natural colours seem to fade after curing period. They are entirely from what you see the next day.
Thanks. Please next time, identify and describe what each color looks like as it doesn't always come across in the video.
Thank you for the feedback
Most of these packaged stuff are not totally natural thus defeats the purpose...
I totally understand what you mean.
