    RIGHT?!! The Covergirl Clean Matte BB leaves my skin flawless. I love it. I love my IT CC as well but it's nice knowing I don't have to always spend nearly $40 whenever I run out now that there's a great $8 find!!! 😉🤗👍🏼

    I have dry skin and the Cover girl matte bb cream has become my holy grail! It makes my skin look flawless yet still skinlike and best of all it dries right away, no more sticky tacky face.

    I have both and they're both good foundations BUT the biggest difference is what makes the It cosmetics so popular is it has an spf of 50! Not to mention all the other ingredients that are supposed to be good for your skin! The covergirl bb cream is nice no doubt and definitely lasts better on my oily combination skin but nothing can compare to the It cosmetics sun coverage and other skin care in their products! If you're wanting something to wear outside in the sun on vacation that feels nice, protects your skin, and lasts then It Cosmetics is bomb. Cover girl is a nice foundation but that's it-- in my opinion these products just don't even compare I wear them for totally different reasons expecting two totally different outcomes. UNLESS Covergirl added some kind of SPF to theirs and honestly it would have to be a lot to rival a 50 SPF there just is no comparison in my opinion.

    • @TheGlamourIndex
      @TheGlamourIndex  7 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      I agree. Like I said in the vid, they are not ingredients dupes. I was mainly comparing the look of them on the skin for people, like me, who don't care to wear an extra sunscreen underneath of the product! I just don't want people to waste their money on it if they're just buying it because of how it looks on the skin when that can be duplicated in a cheaper product. (: Thanks for your opinion!

      @MtnSnowflake 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You would have to layer on FAR more of the Covergirl cream than the iT Cosmetics cream to get good sun protection though.

    • @HeyitsBri_
      @HeyitsBri_ 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Kar4Jax why don't you just use a moisturizer/primer that is nourishing with an spf. Then they would be the same by that logic

    • @HeyitsBri_
      @HeyitsBri_ 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Montana Snowflake layers don't equal sun protection it just equals how much coverage the makeup gives. It's the spf. Just use something underneath with a higher spf.

    • @denissekattalakis6575
      @denissekattalakis6575 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think you should use something under your foundation for true protection. You need way more sunscreen that the foundation could have. However, I still think that the it cosmetics would be better for the same reason because it has physical spf which not so many foundations have and I wear physical SPF, so I wouldn't worry about my foundation reacting weird with my sunscreen and I would have extra benefits.

    I've recently purchased the Covergirl BB cream & I LOVE IT! I get super oily & this holds up better than any higher end foundation! Can't go wrong for 6 bucks. Thnx for sharing to reassure me I DON'T need to splurge on the IT cosmetics! :)

    Really like the cover girl BB cream, but hate the It cosmetics CC cream. I tried the It cosmetics with and without primer, with several different application methods, and nothing helped. I always wound up with a hot, greasy mess. While the It has many good skin ingredients as well as the spf it doesn't really matter if you hate the finish. Good review!

      If you have oily skin, the iT Cosmetics cream, regular formula (there is another formula as well) isn't going to work for you.

    I love my It Cosmetics CC cream I think I am on my second or third tube though I don't use it everyday, it is my go to quick coverage option or if I am going to out in the sun all day. That being said after having it for a while and using several tools to apply it I have found the best way to apply this is with your fingers as is with most CC and BB creams, if you want full coverage that is. A nice synthetic brush will give you the next best coverage and a beauty sponge with give you the sheerest coverage.

    • @westernairesmom
      @westernairesmom 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree. The best application is to pat it around to blend it--just like you would with a sponge but with your fingers--and after pressing it into the skin to finish blending the rest of the way with fingers. If it's really hot it can get more dewy than I like so I'll mix it with Urban Decay's One and Done which mattifies it a bit. People can't tell I have any foundation on and think my skin just naturally looks that good. ;-) I'm over 40 with normal/oily combo skin.

    • @TheGlamourIndex
      @TheGlamourIndex  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't try applying it with my fingers! I wish I had known that. :/ I never apply products with my fingers, just assuming it won't look good. Thanks for letting everyone else know, though! XOXO

    I really like the covergirl clean matte bb cream. covergirl also has the ready set gorgeous oil fate foundation that applies almost the exact same as the covergirl clean matte bb cream. I like both exually. I have the lightest shades for the covergirl products and they are still 2 shades two dark.

    Have tried/used many products since my late teenage years. From drugstore to high end; until I bumped into IT Cosmetics three years ago. For me, hands down the best foundation coverage with their CC +50 Cream/foundation paired with their ByeBye Pores finishing powder. NO MORE VISIBLE PORES!! with that one. For oily skin; stay away from their "Illumination" line. BUT, Cover Girl has some cool stuff; I'm sure formulas have evolved and will probably go purchase that one and compare...why not right? I love make up💃 Great review!👍👍

      That's awesome that it works so well for you! I wish I had the same experience! Yeah, I definitely think CG has come along way, along with most drugstore brands. Like I said, ingredients-wise, the CG is not similar at all to the IT Cosmetics CC Cream. So I don't know if you'll have as much like with it. But I hope you do! Thanks for such a nice comment!

    I have normal/dry skin and I actually really like the cover girl clean matte bb cream. I just set it with a dewy setting spray on those day where my skin is feeling more dry than normal. But it never sticks to any of my dry spots or anything, so that's a win for me! 👍🏻😉

    I think your face looked nice on both sides. I haven't tried the cover girl, but I have used the it cosmetics. The way I get full coverage is to blend it with my fingers (I know, but trust me) then take my beauty blender and lightly tap over it to make sure all the product is blended well. I also have combo to oily skin, that still breaks out in my mid 30's.

    I think for foundations I still opt for the high end ones because they tend to be a lot better for your skin, skin products are the only ones I would invest in! Everything else like mascara, eyeliner, and lip stick I would just get at the drugstore 😁 Great review!

    Hi I'm a new sub. Really enjoyed and appreciated your in depth review. You made it ABUNDANTLY clear re:the difference in the SPF. The comparison was about coverage, etc. I totally am underwhelmed with the IT cosmetics cream" I watch TH-cam all the time , and so far,you're the only one ho also doesn't care for it, although, possibly for different reasons.
    I thought the Covergirl side wore better and looked better. BTW, you're very pretty.

    Physicians Formula makes a CC cream, actually they make at least three of them ranging from $12.99-$14.99. The reviews are excellent. I was excited because I wanted full coverage, and PF has it. I like the product a lot, but have to return it because even their light shade is too dark for me:(. For those of you who aren't pale, light or medium should work well.

    You should compare the new Nyx drop foundation compared to the Rainforest of the Sea foundation. Both have a really thin consistency with surprisingly good coverage and both seem to work well with my oily skin. The claims for the Nyx drop foundation are completely wrong, but if you ignore the "two drops for medium, four the full coverage" type claims it's a good foundation, I just wish their was more product in the bottle. I go through the Rainforest of the Sea foundation super fast so I was searching for a dupe and I think that's the best one I've found so far. Would love to see you compare them!

    • @TheGlamourIndex
      @TheGlamourIndex  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm, I actually never thought about how those two compared. That's a very good point. I tried the ROTS Foundation a longgg time ago. I agree. The claims are whack on the NYX, lol. No one can use 1 drop of that stuff! That wouldn't cover my nose, lol. I'll definitely have to compare those! Thanks for the heads up, girl!

  • @cally2895
    @cally2895 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just FYI IT CC Cream has many citrus oils that cause irritation and are photo toxic when exposed to the sun. Any anti-aging ingredients it does have are negated by the citrus oils. The collagen ingredient molecule is too large to be absorbed into the skin.
    It also transfers easily to phones / clothes / coats. Anything that touches your face and wears off. The citrus is causing damage over time and for many immediately.
    I think the real dupe is all the people who wear this product thinking it’s good for the skin. . They are duped in my opinion.... as well as many dermatologists.
    Thx for your review. I like the covergirl better.

  • @MzNoemi69
    @MzNoemi69 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    A little bit of IT CC cream goes a lonnggg way, including the Undereye concealer, depending on which coverage you want. Usually, one less-than-half a pump will give you a sheer coverage, half a pump is medium coverage, and a full pump is full coverage. I bought the travel size and like it so much that I bought the full size. At $38, you will get your money's worth, it will last a long time before replenishing. However, if I had seen this video first, before buying the full-size, I would have given this a whirl. I bought the BB cream by NYX, before IT, and I used this for quick appointments or going to the store. That is what it is, a glorified moisturizer. So, maybe I'll buy, Covergirl to replace NYX. At $38, you may not want to put this on to run out on quick errands.

    Actually, BB creams started in Korea... and most of them have the same coverage as a our foundations. A lot of people are just used to crap BB creams from here in the U.S. that are basically tinted moisturizers :p The ones in Korea pretty much all have skincare benefits and a better finish on the skin since they're pretty obsessive about perfect skin over anything else.

      My favorite BB cream is by Lioele called Triple the Solution, which is best suited to NC 15-20 pale girls BTW :D Their shade range is super limited, though. It's either that or their regular formulation which is a bit darker.

    IT cosmetics CC cream is almost completely full coverage if you ditch the sponge “blenders” ... use a brush or even better your fingers. I was disappointed at first as well but I tried it with my fingers and it works great. Other people I’ve talked to prefer a dense soft foundation brush. Plus quality ingredients are going to benefit you in the long run. Good to know there’s a cheap version for when I can’t spend as much.

    I like the It CC cream. I'm new to it & trying different applications. Do NOT apply with a sponge; use a brush or fingers. I prefer brush. Moisturize well before applying. Use a primer, but not a silicone-based one. I haven't tried the CG BB cream, but at drugstore price, I will. Hope this helps somebody.

    I bought the whole IT cosmetics gift set and it is ok. I will probably just buy the foundation, in the future, if I don't find something else I like even better. I discovered applying the Bye, Bye foundation with a sponge or beauty blender, did not give it as full of a coverage as I like, because the blender and sponge soaked up quite a lot of product. This caused me to use way more, just to get a medium coverage and it is rather expensive to be wasting! I would have used less even using my fingers to apply!! For me, putting it on my hand and applying it with a foundation brush was the way to go! It blended beautifully and I hardly used any but still got the full coverage I wanted! I do love the ingredients in IT's bye bye foundation. they help with aging and dryness plus protect you from the sun's rays. I did find a BB foundation at the dollar tree recently. Normally, I walk on by that section just because in the past, they weren't even worth the dollar but I did find a BB cream I figured was worth a try. I'll have to track down the ingredients before I test it all over my face but I could tell from doing a swatch on my hand that this stuff is definitely full coverage!🤔 anyway, keep your videos coming. I find them very informative!👍😁

    I've been a mua & esthetician for years & I've worked for many brands I personally love IT CC Cream I think its best for a more mature skin I definitely wouldn't wear a primer under it but still prep your skin with serum or moisturizer & using your fingers is always my best method but then maybe I'll pat over with a beauty blender & set.
    The bye bye under eye is the real mvp of IT though I could use just the concealer & I'm going to try this BB cream with it Thanks for your review. The BB looks great on your skin 😍

    i would still wear a moisturizer with a SPF, under a foundation with SPF, and powder with a SPF. That works for me, living in Cali, during the summer, with a moderate amount of time outside. I also use blotting paper throughout the day and touch up with
    a SPF powder. If I'm outside for a long time or one of makeup face products happens to not have SPF, I'll swap the SPF moisturizer for a full on sunblock.

    BB and CC are very different. BB are made to cover blemishes, and they are Matt and hence they last and cover the blemishes better. As for CC is for colour correcting, for those who have uneven colour skin tone, this is the best, and also if you want to have a natural and a shiny from within look, CC IT is the one to go for. the texture is much more lighter comparing to BB cream. Especially BB cream is generally to cover blemishes.

      I feel like that was the original idea/difference, but makeup companies suck at sticking to the original idea. They get lazy. I've tried a lot of BB creams that aren't matte, very shiny, and have low coverage. Same with CC creams but vice versa. And I feel like correcting an uneven skin-tone is going to naturally happen with something that has coverage. So, whether it's a BB or a CC cream, if it's got any kind of coverage, it's going to correct unevenness. That's just my opinion, though!

    I love It Cosmetics but I must admit it has always felt like a LOT on my face and by the end of the day, I am ready to get it off! Bc it like, just sits there on my face and shines. Even with a ton of powder, which just makes it heavier. Come to think of it, maybe I don't love It so much after all. I have never tried Cover Girl bc once I tried it as a child, and it turned orange on my face (it was probably the wrong color - DUH) and I've always shied away from it since. That's stupid, I know. Maybe I will try it again. That has been a LOT of years ago! LOL

    This is not a hateful comment, just a suggestion since it happens to me as well. Your pores are probably more magnified because you applied your highlighter a little more on the apples of your cheeks which magnifies your pores. If you apply it on the higher points of your cheekbones that problem should not occur. Again I am not trying to be rude. I had the same issue as well!

    I have more mature skin, I like the it cosmetics cc cream for its ingredients, and it's SPF. However I do find that even with my dryer skin it's got about a six hour wear time.
    It also tends to pill up on my nose and chin, which is kind of disappointing. I have to use concealer in those areas when I wear the cc cream.

      Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, the IT Cosmetics does have good ingredients for sure. But no one should rely on the SPF in makeup. Read the description of this video for more info on that. (:

    The IT CC cream has more skin damaging ingredients that it has good ingredients. Use it if you want premature aging issues.
    Butyloctyl Salicylate - used in facial peels
    Retinyl Palmitate - synthetic vitamin A (never wear vitamin A/retinal in sun exposure)
    Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid - needs a growth factor (water) or will pull water from your skin if air is dry or you're indoors in AC or heater
    Collagen in creams doesn't do anything for your skin - hyped fantasy
    Covergirl BB Cream does not have nasties in it
    Learn to read the ingredient label and GOOGLE before saying yay, this is great for your skin.

    Super late to this conversation and first video of yours I’ve watched (great video btw). I’m also not a giant fan of IT CC. I’m a more ‘mature’ woman than you and my skin is more normal to dry, yet I still find the IT too glowy and just all in all underwhelming esp for the price. So I’ve been on the lookout for a new one. I think I’ll give this cover girl a try.
    I did want to mention something about the spf. From what I’ve learned, and a recent Wayne Goss video confirmed, in order to get the high spf of any product, you need to apply a LOT of it. Like a teaspoon. (Wayne say a mil, which I think is a milliliter and the spoon he demonstrated with looked about like a tsp) Which is really a crap ton of makeup...you should check out his demo, it’s kinda hilarious.
    Since I use retin a and need a lot of sunscreen I can’t even count on IT CC to do the job alone fwiw, I’ve been using Australian Gold tinted sunscreen spf 50 and I love it. It’s fully mineral and leaves a beautiful matte finish. I can wear it alone as a light cover foundation or as a great primer under foundation or bb/cc cream

    I absolutely love the clean matte bb cream. I mix with Australian Gold SPF 50. It is just not good for my oily skin.

    Everyone talks about the SPF in it cosmetics. Personally ..There's not enough SPF 50 to do anything..Lets be real.
    Also I am a mature woman and I tried it and it doesn't work.Also everyone has different techniques so it works for some, NOT for Me...and i'm ok with that.

    • @TheGlamourIndex
      @TheGlamourIndex  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I love this comment. People don't seem to understand that everything works differently for everyone. I agree with the SPF. And unless you reapply throughout the day, it's not doing much. I remember a long time ago, Kandee Johnson said that if you don't get around to putting on sunscreen, wearing makeup is the next best thing for protection just because it provides a barrier. Thank you for your comment.

    • @the_eerie_faerie_tales
      @the_eerie_faerie_tales 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes exactly! It's not enough on its own to actually get spf 50 w/ the small amount we use. It's good for layering though - I do a base layer of regular spf 50, then tinted moisturizer/bb cream w/ spf 20, then powder compact spf 30. Also re-apply spf in some form throughout the day. Still need to get a concealer w/ spf. I figure all together it's better that way 😊

    I tried the Cover Girl but it ended up looking streaky and hard to blend and didn't look natural. I just got the IT CC cream and so far I like the finish alot better. It looks pretty natural on my face, which is an oilslick. I just have to set it with matte finising spray.

    I never use CC cream. I'm just getting started in makeup use. I am dark and have dry skin. Do I use it alone or it has to be under foundation? Does it oxides?

    • @TheGlamourIndex
      @TheGlamourIndex  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can wear it alone, as a foundation, or under an actual foundation! I prefer to wear products like this on their own because I feel as if you run the chance of getting cakey when you layer too many products with coverage. As far as oxidation, it just depends on the chemistry of your skin. Usually, everything oxidizes at least a little. But it depends!
