When I park in my garage at home and close the garage door I do not lock the car… and the ambient lighting stays on for 20 minutes, even though the car has been turned off. I have even chosen the shortest interior lighting switch-off delay time. I worry this will drain the 12v battery. The only solution I have found is… to lock the car. Do you know any other way to shorten the ambient lighting on time once the car is turned off without locking the car? Thanks again! I love all your TH-cam videos!
Thanks Mark for your kind comments! I’ll keep the videos coming! No sadly not I’ve noticed that when filming some of the EQ cars, the lighting does stay on longer but don’t worry. The 12V battery is maintained by the high voltage battery. If you left the LED side lights on for a few days, it might drop by only 1% approx if that. So the ambient lights inside will probably such a small amount, you won’t even notice.
@@npoleary Nick - Thanks for your info AGAIN! To give you the background on my question… I just purchased by second EQS 580 2 weeks ago. The first one purchased I had ordered & I purchased it a year later when it finally arrived in July 2022. Well it would not start the very next day and 2 two more times in the eight weeks I had the car. It spent over a month in the service center and they never could fully correct the issue. The High Voltage battery was NOT keeping the 12v battery charged as it should have. I even placed a Bluetooth battery monitor on the 12v battery terminals to watch it closely. In the end Mercedes stepped up and purchased the car back from me at 100% of the original cost - I could not have asked for any better customer service. But then the car was re-ordered to my specifications and it took 6 more months to arrive! I had traded in my 2016 Tesla Model S to purchase the first EQS 580… so my dealership allowed me to drive a loaner car for the 6 months it took to be replaced, which was super kind. Anyway I love my newest EQS and it has given me no problems at all. And yes, out of caution I placed the battery monitor on the new car and the 12v battery as you said, is being kept well charged by the high voltage battery as it should. So I am eagerly finally learning all the high tech in the car and your videos are a huge help. You are a huge help to the new customer, a service I hope Mercedes realizes is actually invaluable! THANK YOU AGAIN!

Hi Nick, does the dynamics have any effect on the car's automatic stop-start, for example, if I turn on the eco, will the car's automatic stop-start turn off?
On some models, if you select sport plus it’ll turn it off 🤓 But I’ve seen most new models just have Eco, Comfort & Sport these days but the start / stop button is separate
@ i put my car in individual and the engine is eco steering is sport and the esp is comfort but the stop-start wont work but i will put everything in comfort and let you know if its not working after that
Is it a new GLC? The one with the vertical screen in the middle? If so, they have a thing called Zero Layer and a Classic View. Just hold the home button and choose your preferred layout 🤓

Thank you! Glad you enjoy the videos! Exhaust sounds are only adjustable on high performance AMG cars. They’re a lot more expensive to buy and run just to change the exhaust sound. And even then sometimes it’s optional equipment. For a GLA 200 (very similar engine to mine) the driving modes would change the engine and gearbox power and responsiveness)

Hey Jerry, it depends on the situation at the time and placement of the sign but if it saw a sign close to the road you’re on, it could change the speed.
No sadly not, Mercedes manuals state this. Basically the air quality deteriorates quickly when in recirculating mode so it re-opens to allow fresh air in.

It could happen if there is a build up on road film / external debris on the sensor at the top of the windscreen or sensors at the star badge at the front if your car has any there. Usually a quick clean would fix it. I’m genuinely surprised mine’s not said anything yet, it needs a wash! 🧼

I have a 2021 GLE 350. My Wipers are 💩 I have Magic Vision. I see on other TH-cam videos the water squirts the full wipe. Mine only dribbles out when the blades are vertical. Is this right? Or should it squirt as it wipes like I’ve seen?
It’ll wipe on the downward wipe to save it flicking up over the car. Keeps the car clean! 😎 But I’m pretty sure if you hold it for a few seconds (think it’s just over 5 seconds) it does a deep clean.
@@npoleary might have to ask the dealership. From new day one it’s been like this. Terrible wiper, smears right in the eye level and I’ve cleaned everything and replaced the wipers after 1 year. The squirt action is nothing like the videos it’s just a short squirt at the top of the come back on the down. It’s very weak and doesn’t really get any bugs off like traditional jets.
Hi Nick, are you sure about the left and right side traffic? I’m in Australia (we drive on the left, steering wheel on the right) but “Auto” goes to right side traffic and if I set it to left side, I get a warning message to check it.
Every car that I’ve got in to review or make a tutorial on, it always says Left side Traffic + I confirmed with Mercedes directly here in the UN and even checked in the manual to make sure 100%. So I know it’s correct for the UK, but for Australia I would still just double check with Mercedes where you are to be 100% sure.

@@npoleary Thanks Nick . Issue was due to car wash . Probably to much wax water used and that lead to stickiness . Suddenly i realised this and sprayed water on it and bang .. it started working.

I haven’t heard of this before but after a quick search I see it’s to do with car interiors etc Sadly I haven’t ever heard or seen a manufacturer release information of this, I certainly haven’t seen anything on Media Pages etc. I’m sure they all take extreme care with the production of seats and car interiors though!

I’ve seen E-Class & CLS with it but also cars with the portrait styled multimedia system (MBUX NTG 7) But double check with Mercedes as specs do vary round the world 🤓
I pay for Wi-Fi in my G wagon as I prefer getting texts through the Mercedes system rather than Apple CarPlay…as CarPlay stops and reads the message, Mercedes doesn’t read it unless you ask it to…

Is there a way to keep the recirculation button to the on position for the 2023 GLC 300 4MATIC US model?

In my CLA 200 '21' I see Beam and head lights on Motorways do not switch automatically though settings are on automatic mode, any suggestion
Is this like auto full beam? If so, it depends on the specification of the car. Not all models have adaptive full beam
