I can’t wait to start doing roller only nowthis was bizarre at how much it wants to make me throw again every time I watch anyone just gets me pumped to try out all the amazing teaching skills you have!!! Thanks to everyone’s support to every disc golfer, keep the energy strong my friends! (Force be in ones self)
Seriously one of The Best DG tutorials I have ever seen. Real pragmatic application stuff here. Clear and understandable. And Yes--EO's Enthusiasm Prevails. Thank You Eric! And thank you Dynamic Discs!
Glad I came across this video, as rollers are the weakest part of my game. Ironically enough, my go-to driver for anything but a headwind is a Sidewinder. Going to try some of these techniques with it and see what I can do. Thanks for the tips, Eric!
Any chance you can do a video on thumbers? I can't seem to throw them hard without the disc completely slipping out of my hand or doing something weird
Overall, a very informative and helpful video. It helped me more given that I bag quite a few of the discs that he uses as an example (Felon, Vandal, Trespass, and Maverick, to be specific). As someone has already mentioned in the comments, anyone who isn’t familiar with these discs have more unnecessary study work to do to figure out comparable flight numbers for these examples; displaying the disc flight numbers would be wise, @DD, at least to better advertise and sell your products. Jmho. Not important at all, but I enjoy seeing that I’ve got the exact same bag and color choice that Eric is rocking, although I guarantee my bag is unnecessarily way heavier (Combat Ranger).
Some great insights. 9:06 is definitely not a thumber roller (the disc is the wrong way round, and the grip on the disc facing left was a death throw one)
Flippy discs will turn more in the air and while rolling they will flip over and Curl. Overstable discs will have to be thrown with more anhyzer if you want them to not cut. That's all you need to know. Try with your own discs, as he said, you can use them all.
@@mortendmortensen I get it. I just want it to be more tutorial friendly. This is a "Disc Golf Beginners" video, not an "enfranchised players already know" kinda thing.
I use my putter as a roller all the time. The trick is to throw it just low enough that it bounces off the basket and rolls 50ft away down a hill into the water... roller!
Funny I searched rollers today and yesterday I hit a dog. I did not see the dog when I threw but had several people watching me from the fairway. They said the dog was sitting there waiting and ran towards the disc. I was throwing a driver and it was probably a 300 ft flex shot. Right as it straightened up it hit the dog square in the head. Maybe the mouth as it might have been going after it but what I remember is it hit it right in the head. It was terrible feeling. The dog just immediately ran the other way and just kept running. The people watching made me feel a little better saying the dog charged the disc. Then I see Eric in this video possible maybe hit a dog too. The only other time I hit a dog it was my dog with a putter. Equally shitty feeling and now I make sure he is behind the throw.
Hi Bobby, I don't subscribe because I'm only interested in these tutorial videos. I don't enjoy the 'is this disc right for you' or behind the scenes at dynamic videos. If I could only subscribe to the instructional videos I would.
Subscribers help them get more viewers, which helps them get more ad revenue. Since they are putting these videos out for free, the least you can do is help support them by subscribing. If a video pops up that you don't want to watch, don't watch it....
I absolutely love how excited Eric was for every single shot, his love for the game is second to none
Great job dudes 😊👍
I'm super good at cut rollers when I am trying to throw an air shot harder than I should with a midrange. Haha
Great tips! Thank you!
Awesome roller guide and insights from Eric, one of the most charismatic communicators in disc golf.

Such an awesome and enthusiastic dude. Amazing style and only the best vibes. Great vid!

Great video thanks for roller tips🤙🏼
This is EXACTLY what I was looking for.

I needed this video! Thanks Eric! Very informative, and I will definitely be incorporating this into my game in the future.
I am NO GOOD at throwing backhand rollers, basically because I didn’t know how to. This was extremely helpful, thanks Eric!
Shout out to BIG Jerm! The trick shot genius! Good tutorial Eric. 👍

Nice video!
It's almost like you heard my thoughts. I was just playing a round and was trying to figure out how to throw a roller

Thank you eric. Rolling like a champ.
Got that hotdog bandit whale sac last week.
Very cool. Tyvm!
Just walked in from practicing...walking back out to practice rollers now...
One aspect that you might've covered was some of the terrain/topographic conditions that make a roller feasible.
Thanks man
Thanks E!
Hey Eric your thumber was backwards, disc direction should resemble extreme BH anhyzer. That was just a super weirdly held tomahawk/FH roller.
I definitely use flick forehand rollers to get out of jail-- just for short distances under 100'. Long rollers are too unpredictable for me....
Some great insights.

I know you're trying to sell your own discs, but it would be nice to see flight numbers on the video. I have no idea what half of these discs are.

Felon: 9 3 0 4 (I think, maybe even more stable)
I think the trespass is a 9 5 -1 2 but idk DD’s stuff
@@jacksonpalmer8955 Again, I can sort it out myself. Just feed back for new player friendliness is all. :) Thanks for trying to help, though!
i like to throw neutral discs on anny and watch em roll on a rope!
To use rollers you NEED to practice a LOT, don't lose your roller disc either ;)

I have a disc with a flat edge rolls like crazy
What distance are you trying to lay the roller down? BH, FH You never said where your trying to land, as soon as possible or more air.

Just roll w it!
No animals were harmed, but were any discs harmed?
I think you forgot to mention felon, convict, outlaw etc.
RIP to my red champ black mamba 😢 😭 😢 😭

Hot Dog Bandit is lookin' cut these days.

@@joking78 Took the words from my mouth. 👍 Well said.
"throw a roller in the first available tree"
I would love to see this from a wooded lie.
I, also, am a lucid ex-felon
Man, I hate it when they BEG you to subscribe...if your content is good, people will subscribe, plain and simple
Will that ever change?? I often click off the video when they say it. I hate robotic follow the herd behavior.
Why would you pick Eric Oakley? Who do you want to teach rollers.
Dynamic discs: get the guy with the weirdest looking form to teach it.
Not really about the form. It's about angles and when you might need certain shots. If you're looking for form videos watch some of Danny's.
