Dude, I worked on throwing a roller today after watching your video. Got 334 ft with the Discraft Undertaker and 323 ft with the Hades. That 334 is my third furthest recorded throw ever!
That's awesome. I've heard that TECHNICALLY distance drivers probably have more distance potential on rollers too, but my best are with fairways as well
If the fairway is good enough conditions for a roller, you typically have more potential to get a disc to go way farther than you could throw it in the air. For example, my absolute max distance is about 360'. But if I throw a roller just right I can easily get well over 400'.
I'm pretty much the only one in our tag group of 16 people that ever throws rollers on purpose. They're a little inconsistent but when they work it's absolutely genius!
Ty give these tips a try. Do you have a video on forehand rollers one of my favorite shots that I can do with either arm. I play around/experiment with Champion Eagles, Rock3's, and Rollo's They each require a different release angle depending on power, I'm trying to figure out which one will go straighter longer with less curve out. Seems the Eagle will stand up the longest and the Rollo curves out 1st. But the Rock3 with it rounder rim is more dependable and doesn't cut one way or the other if you don't get a perfect landing. thank for any ideas..
I don't have a video on it yet- there are a lot of variations with fh rollers, just like other shots. For high power, you'll get a longer and straighter shot by throwing a more stable disc (like your Eagle) on a more vertical angle, but for lower power shots a slower disc like your Roc3 will stay straight longer. Like I said, there's a lot of nuance to it, it's something I'd like to chat about in a longer format at some point
@@ArmoryDiscGolf Your content and commentary are great. One piece of advice. Use ground that is darker, either grass or dirt. The contrast helps to see the disc. Onward!
That was a Lone Star Disc Guadalupe in *Alpha* plastic, not Apex 😬 mb
Yay I just got one of those in Bravo. I like it. Now I have to try this technique

Correction: This is probably the be the best Roller tutorial on all of TH-cam.
Thanks! Hope it helps you on the course
Hey, just saw the edit. Appreciate that 👊🏻
You have some pretty good content. I'm surprised you don't have more followers. I'm going to give a fellow Texas guy a follow!
I appreciate that! Starting small, hopefully some equipment upgrades in the near future will help out as well. +1 for Texas disc golf!

@@ArmoryDiscGolf got few, easy way ,backhand rollers working today ty
My original starter pack DX Leopard is my roller disc. It's so beat up, it can't do anything but flip over and roll. Lmao.... Cool video.
Haha that's the REAL "easy way" 😂
I’ve never seen the grass that short at Audubon before. Most times, not the best grass for rollers it’s usually so tall.
Yeah it was very fortunate timing 😂
Audubon Hole 12?
Audubon hole 12 😎
@@ArmoryDiscGolf favorite course. Spent much of my life there
You know you play disc golf too much when you can tell the course by that thumnail.
😂 honestly that's impressive, considering how nondescript the background is
Don’t you love how easy it is to grow magic mushrooms
