T-ara didn’t follow trends, they set them 🙏🏻
literally, even for THAT big group
t-ara is a group cameleon as they called and since the start until the very end they really prove that
"Number 9" marked T-ara's "renaissance" era as they returned to their debut lineup of OT6 (and they even performed their debut song "Lie" on a music show at the same time). I believe it's based on the song "Love Potion No. 9".
"Sugar Free" is interesting because while it didn't gain much attention at the time (due to the Korean public more or less ignoring T-ara due to their 2012 scandal), I've noticed in recent years that it tends to be most reactors' first T-ara song, probably because that EDM beat is just so nice lol
"Tiamo" gets its name from "ti amo" (Italian?) and it's actually a fan song for their fandom, QUEEN'S. It's also their last release as OT6 because their next song, "What's My Name?", got delayed by management so that Soyeon and Boram's contracts would expire first :( Anyway, "Tiamo" is about how the QUEEN'S stuck by T-ara's side over all the years and hardships.
Members:
-Boram (N9: long black hair with bangs, SF: lighter brown hair, T: shoulder-length black hair/ponytail) - the oldest and shortest member, often called the "fake maknae" due to her youthful looks
-Qri (N9: red hair, SF: hair with blue extensions, T: brown hair with lighter tips) - the current leader, considered the "lucky charm" of T-ara because she has the 1st part in all of their most popular songs
-Soyeon (N9: ponytail, SF: sings the main chorus, T: long black hair) - the main vocalist, was well-known at debut to have been part of the pre-debut lineup for SNSD, but left months prior to debut as she did not feel ready yet
-Eunjung (N9: shortest hair, SF: short black hair, T: brown hair with parted bangs) - her specialties are high notes, rapping, and acting, as she was training as an actress before joining T-ara
-Hyomin: (N9: long black hair rapper, SF: bleached hair, T: brown ponytail) - lead vocalist and rapper, known for bringing the "sexy" to the group
-Jiyeon: (N9: shoulder-length brown hair, SF: long black hair, T: brown hair with exposed forehead) - the maknae and visual/center/face of the group, she was also training as an actress before joining T-ara and is a good friend of IU's
Here's my thought on choreography: there are the crazy complex ones that are there to show the group's abilities as dancers/performers. BUT there are also moves like the one in "Sugar Free" that are simple and catchy that just makes the average person want to get up and dance when it comes on and it's ICONIC.
Yup, those classic "simple" point dances are so iconic of 2nd-gen :)

as t-ara and their management always been saying wayback then during their rookie days ..t-ara is a group that will offer hook songs and easy dances that would make koreans can't resist nor avoid humming and jam to their songs once it released
@@justinjyeung and the fact that a lot of those iconic key dance moves of the 2nd gen girl groups were choreographed by Bae Yoonjung (the dance mentor on Produce 101 that scared everyone xD) and her crew
T-ARA earned their title CHAMELEON OF KPOP because they can jump from any concept throwed to them and slay each one of those and that made me love them more.
Gosh this reaction is giving me crazy nostalgia. T-ARA will forever hold a special place in my heart :') Fun fact: They were known as the chameleon group because they could pull off so many different concepts so well!
To me #9 was all the best things about T-ARA with out all the fluff. Sugar Free is great too. Eunjung with a slit dress never gets old. Actually, Eunjung in anything is amazing. When Jiyeon debuted as the maknae she was also acting and many people said she was one of the most beautiful idols "in person". I've heard that kneeling choreo in #9 you liked was apparently an issue for Jiyeon because she injured her knee falling off a scooter when filming a drama very early in her career.

I love this batch! Number 9 is also my favorite T-ara title track (and when they really amped up the sexy imo). You’re absolutely right about Sugar Free; I can’t keep myself from dancing to it years later. And Tiamo is just beautiful and a lovely way to end their journey as a full group. I’m so glad you mentioned Jiyeon and Boram’s voices as they often get overlooked due to them not being power vocalists, but they really do have beautiful tones. Can’t wait for next month’s journey LOLOLOL 😈
It's sad you heard all of the songs already in all your mv reactions for T-ara :( I would have loved to see your shocked face when sugar free started playing after ti amo LMAO. But I still had a lot of fun watching you react to T-ara. T-ara, SNSD and KARA were the first girl groups I stanned in 2008-2010. To this day, Kara, snsd and T-ara are my fav girl groups and that will stay like that for me cuz they brought me all so many memories and joy at those times where I was struggling. T-ara went through really hard times and they didn't even deserve that. They suffered for years and still are to this day by their own country. T-ara and SHINee never follow trends. They MAKE trends. So does Kara and snsd. They are just originals and legends. Thank you for giving so much of your time to us and reacting to "old" kpop groups and songs. As someone who doesn't enjoy the songs of right now in kpop and having most of their ults disbanded/hiatus, I'm enjoying watching your throwback kpop reactions! Thank you for the hard work 💕

Eunbi for Hyomin, Yena for Eunjung (fitting since Eunjung was in a MV with Yena's brother), Yujin for Jiyeon, Chaewon for Soyeon, Nako for Qri, and Chaeyeon for Boram

Number 9 is my fave among all their songs since the beginning.. I don't know but this song just got me listening over and over.. but I liked all of their songs and I listen to them most of the time that even my mom liked listening to them also
If you could also like to react to their song "Good Person" (supposedly they are the original line up for t-ara - jiyeon, hyomin, eunjung, jiwon (later debuted as a member of spica) and jieun but jieun and jiwon left and replaced by soyeon (should have been a member of snsd), boram and qri.
