Great recipe. Thank you for sharing. As opposed to ordering the sesame seeds online, many natural food stores have them available for purchase in bulk. Let’s support local shops when we can.

@@davidthescottishvegan That's a fair point. They may. I was on the board of a co-op (People's Food Co-Op in Ann Arbor). The store tried online during the pandemic, but it never really took off as the pandemic faded.

I have an addiction to crunch as well. It's hard to find healthy things to replace chips.

I've had thin sesame crisps like these. They didn't contain bananas or peanut butter. The sweetener was agave syrup which is still a lot of sugar and none of the nutrients you'd get from using bananas. I've got dehydrators that I use to dry apple and plum slices, so I'm going to try this recipe in them.

Dulse, warmed up in the oven provides the some of the crunchiness and salt and are a good potato chip alternative - for me . Small bags found at Ontario grocers are very expensive compared to New Brunswick.

Thank you Jill ~ This looks wonderful! I sure appreciate all that you share with us.
Tip - I like to wet the countertop with my dishcloth and put the Paraflex sheet right down on the damp countertop. It will hold the sheet in place while you spread out whatever you're dehydrating.
Another thing I like to do - I have an 18" stainless steel ruler and I use that before the item goes into the dehydrator the first time, to score my lines. It's so easy! I just place the ruler where I want the score line to be and "saw" it back and forth once or twice and move on. And my husband knows not to use my SS ruler for anything else ;)

Thank you for this and all your recipes! I too was addicted to crunchy things. Why finally helped me was having a huge greens-loaded salad every day. For some reason it dialed the cravings from 10 down to 1.

Looks delicious! I’m curious though because I was under the impression that nut flours, nut butters, and smashed or blended fruits and veggies would still be considered processed (thus not whole foods). I’m new to this style of eating, and would appreciate a better understanding of what is/isn’t a whole food.
