One thing I've learned about servers in France is they usually aren't being rude or mean, rather they are doing their job and not trying to be your best friend. American servers are hustling for tips and trying to be your friend in a phony way many times. I appreciate the French style where they aren't constantly interrupting your meal which is supposed to be your time with friends and family, or quiet time alone in your case.
I'm French and I think they could be a bit nicer still (a smile costs nothing), but I do agree, in the US it sometimes seems fake, somehow I find it worse, just let us enjoy our meal...
it was a shock when I went to the US and the servers were so chit chatty suddenly first I just thought "oh what a jolly guys lol" but then it turned out every server was acting like that and suddenly it became a bit creepy but I mean I'm from Germany where people got weirded out when US company run stores greeted them at the entrance lol
The 3 months I spent being homeless was rough, but extremely liberating at the same time. I got to see more of the country, be free of any real schedule or giant responsibility, any stupid emails. Nobody to worry about. Just me, myself and I. Then again, I slept in my car, stayed in the town I had lived in for years prior, had some friends around, and kept busy. I had it way easier than you did. Even then, I only lasted until the start of fall. What you're doing is incredible, even if you don't realize it. My only suggestion, from someone who's spent a fraction of a time in the 'nomadic lifestyle', don't prolong it any more than you need to. If you ever get to that point where you're not enjoying yourself anymore, if things feel too taxing or you feel like the days are passing you by and something's missing, like it's not fun anymore, I hope you can transition to the next part of your journey seamlessly Keep living life unbound to the human construct that is a clock. No matter what happens, I hope you find what you're looking for.
Nomadic is the only real way to live you only do anything else if you can’t handle nomad life and living in a permanent structure quickly makes you unable to be nomadic anymore
My gosh I found you, you're the guy stuck in my head since 15 years when I first saw into the wild. That part of me who just want to wake up one morning and go away. Thanks for existing outside. love ya
You probably wont read this, but that was beautifully put. Most days i just want to leave everything and see the world has to offer, glad channels like this exist
What you describe at the end is 'bonking' - I quote from the internet here - In cycling the term 'Bonk' is used to describe a sudden and dramatic decrease in energy levels during a ride. This can happen when the rider has not eaten or hydrated properly and is a result of the body running out of fuel. It is also known as “hitting the wall” or “bonking”. So get yourself some small snacks or something and eat a little regularly. Also you need to take sips of drink regularly too - otherwise you'll 'bonk' 🤪
Second this. You need carbohydrates or your body will run out of energy. Been there many times, trying bringing like a coke or something sugary but stable like gummy bears with you and eat them before you start getting tired to keep this away.

Watching this gave me such a strong sense of longing. I've tried twice to move to France and each time i've returned home to the states. Your shots are beautifully comforting and your approach is really refreshing. Much love and appreciation from Orlando, Florida. Well done!
I dont know how I feel watching ur video. One side I feel extremeley happy for you to be able to live that life and be free, but on the other side the atmosphere of your video let me feel very depressed. Keep going, I like it
yes it can either be drifting across the surface because you dont know what way to turn or you sink into the depth of the moment and everything becomes intimate to your own being
I love the video. And we'd be friends if our paths crossed. But I do question how much of what we do we only do because we can show it. Not that there is something wrong with showing what we do. But it does make you question your motivations, and how much your level of enjoyment is dependent on showmanship. But I guess its that way for everyone from the ballerina to the painter.
Def reccomend a sawyer squeeze for water if youll be in the country side a bunch! Weighs nothin, duper small, can screw it on top of a platic water bottle and just keep reusing the water bottle. Can purify some rank water too haha. That way if youre near like a pond or a river you can have some water on hand so you dont dehydrate. Safe travels out there

Brilliant, good luck . You'll never settle down again, you have become a homeless nomad in this world, a true voyager . I remember my time long ago when I lost my fear of being homeless and i felt free for the first time in my life. Keep faith in the momentum of your mind through that beautiful landscape. Your journey has just begun and you will meet the magician and know you have arrived .

You’re very interesting and easy to listen to, you don’t really say anything important lol, just the things u say and how u say it just makes u seem familiar.. You seem like you’d be a good friend to travel with and listen to ur stories.. hello from South Carolina .. pizza looked amazing btw..
I thought the same thing. Which is great for me since VH said he's never making another video. This dude is a lot more cinematic with his shots and overall has a more wholesome/comfy vibe.

My touring bike has straight handle bars like your bike. Drop handlebars put a crick in my neck. Enjoying your touring adventure. I have zero interest in touring Europe or Asia although in the States there are too many cars and about 90% of them just have one occupant. That’s not sustainable.

I spent a few months in North America...there is good thing and bad things just like in France...but it's not necessarily a place where I've seen a lot of kindness and friendliness. I didn't see much of a difference with France or even any of the other countries I visited. Like Paris, which I've visited many times...nothing negative has ever happened to me.. It opened my eyes to the fact that France isn't this hostile, arrogant land of anti-foreigners, something I myself had begun to believe, since I have very little interest in French internet content.
I do 12 weeks at sea fishing in New Zealand, 8 hours on, 8 hours off all day every day and 6 weeks off. Can confirm the tips of shoes make a great pillow 🇳🇿 😂❤
I sleep outside a lot and I find I don't realise the creeping effect of poorer sleep quality. After a while I start to get aches and exhaustion in my body. I have sleeping tablets with me to help me catch up on sleep.
I live in France and have a friend that owns a vineyard in Provence (Pourrières), so the scene instantly struck me as «Provençal». Whattya know, next thing I see is a pizzeria from Trets, which is one of the few towns I passed through when I visited them. For all I know you might have slept next to their vineyard, on that quaint little road! Another thing, which for some reason I can't stop thinking about ever since I first realized it, is that every shot someone takes of themselves riding or trekking through somwhere, they eventually have to go back and get their camera lol. It was an enjoyable watch
This is the kind of finding I hope to find when I open TH-cam.
These are the rare jewels I've came back for.
