Do you think you would have liked the game if it wasn't the Walking Dead since it seems like it could have easily been another theme like medieval times or something? Just make the leader a king the weapons swords and crossbows the areas ramparts and courtyards etc etc
I really wanted to like this game, but in the end, I think Tom was a LOT nicer to this game than he should've been. I think this was a poor implementation of the theme, to say the least. The mechanics didn't make sense to me at all, as far as fitting the theme is concerned. And as far as the actual gameplay was concerned, boring is all I can say...nothing but repetition turn in and turn out. Repetition isn't always a bad thing, but here it just equals boring. The huge disparity between each weapons' effectiveness is quite annoying, too.
The weapon disparity is off-set by the amount of ammo that the weapons have. It is hard to find the ammo for the best weapons, while the crappy handgun ammo is plentiful. Sometimes you have to look a bit deeper than one play through.
I tried to play this game but like someone else said the mechanics are confusing. it takes space on my game shelf. I think I might try it again if someone would do a detailed gameplay video.
I like the way you get right into the explanations of the game but sometimes you might go to fast because I get that the leader places the pieces but then does he get to move them again and what happens if walkers are left with survivors I awesome they take damage right
A player could be spending a food for every additional roll with Katana. Well, it requires strength to fight with a sword, so one must spend some energy on that.
ok everyone has thier thoughts and thats fine lol but no happy endings in the walking dead? Its a zombie apocalypse i dont think they exist lol but i dont hate tom for that i just wanted to get that out....
Zombie apocalypse, could happen. Parasites that change human behavior to have a rage like in 28 days, could happen. We already have parasites that make mouses not afraid of cats for example. But the army would easily destroy it I think. It would not go really far.
First off, some of the characters had their time and just had to go (Shane for instance). Secondly, it wouldn't be much of a show if death didn't happen. And third, the comics aren't bad either so no need to say all those things about it no offense.
he didn't say the show was bad, he just gave his opinions on it. doesn't mean someone else can't like it. It seems like people's knee-jerk reaction now a days (especially with children or immature adults) is to say say something is bad or good, when in actuality that's an opinion. He was doing the opposite and giving nothing but objective opinions which is much more mature.
In the comic, Shane died before they even left the camp. The prison genocide? In the comic, the mom, baby, and three quarters of the characters die. The comic is WAY more gruesome and gory. The TV show is like a kid show compared to the comic. Michonne was raped for days in the comic. Which is why she hated the governor. In the TV show, she do not like the governor because of reasons.
The Best Defense is way better than the comic book version. And the Katana is not that awesome. You might roll a lot of 4's, 5's, and 6's back to back, but most of the time you do... there were only a couple of Walkers there anyway.
TheLoyalcitizen I confess. I have also played Batman - Arkham City: Escape. It's garbage too. It seems like Cryptozoic just slaps a game onto any franchise they think will sell.

This comment should be the disclaimer on every Cryptozooic game.
Pelcurus
Gamers vs Evil was pretty good
This review and your comment makes me not wanting this game. I had high hopes.

Arguably the best weapon in the game, the katana, doesn't even need ammo, and there's no fear of it breaking.

There is another version of this game which uses the artwork for the comic book, a giant board and much better mechanics. review that one!
LOL "if you're on the farm you'll have a boring season".
katana fix: on a roll of 1 it breaks.
9:20 "The card might say that 'If your on the farm you have a very boring season'."
Wow. Just . . . wow.
And you say you don't watch the TV show?
So he has to watch the tv show to know that season 2 was boring? because people never talk about Walking dead at work or school am i right?
By the way my picture is GLENN from the show and comics so obviously i like the walking dead so dont be suprised i had to say that lol
How do you play this with the original?
A player could be spending a food for every additional roll with Katana. Well, it requires strength to fight with a sword, so one must spend some energy on that.
whats the best zombie coop?
This one is. I suggest you give it a try if you are a fan of the show.
There's of course no objectively best one ... Carnival Zombie got very positive review here, looked awesome to me, might check the video
Last Night on Earth is a lot of fun.
Dead of Winter :)
Явор Миндов yes I absolutely agree dead of winter is my favourite you should check it out

2nd channel I've looked at with terrible out of focus shots, come on guys.
It's a shame the crappy TV version of this game was reviewed. The game based on the comic book looks and feels much nicer. Check that one out.
Too bad the game is not better. I thought about getting it for my daughter, who is a huge fan of the show.
I won the other Walking Dead TV show board game at a Con. It was my first Cryptozoic published game. It will be my last. It was awful.
Don't judge them forever on their first published game. They have some great ones now!
TheLoyalcitizen I confess. I have also played Batman - Arkham City: Escape. It's garbage too. It seems like Cryptozoic just slaps a game onto any franchise they think will sell.
Screw this game, I can't play as Herschel!
Waste of money
I prefer board games where you don't have to work together with the other players.
