Freshman will better remember how their expectations were met since it was more recent, and the seniors will have a better perspective on how the school holds up when you are approaching graduation. Asking seniors is very important because classes normally get harder after freshman year, as introduction and core classes are purposefully made easier to lure students into a second year. But job placement matters too, so after freshman year your classes get harder to ensure the school's prestige remains more intact.

Till he asked me if his fraternity was on campus, and I had to look him dead in the eyes and tell him they had been banned years ago after a student literally developed ptsd from the hazing, became an alcoholic, and killed someone in a drunk driving incident.
For reals. I'm baffled about how involved American parents are in their adult children. In my country no one, absolutely no one will be showing up with their parents to university or college. It would be so strange if they did. And only for graduation parents will show up at high schools.
If someone had done this to me, I'd have given them every nitty gritty detail they wanted lmao 10 bucks to waste some time between classes is a sweet deal

Speaking from experience college students will do pretty much anything for money. For example my dad is paying me $40 to repaint the porch, have I ever painted a porch? No but I do need $40
I’m a tour guide at my uni and the most Awkward question I get from some potential students and even sometimes parents is “ so what’s the party scene like on campus?” My response is .. “well I know one fraternity has a weekly that everyone’s welcome to but that’s all I know. Other than that I feel like it’s a pretty quiet campus” then the parents laugh and are like “ good one “ like I’m joking around . I look them dead in the eyes and be like “ no I’m being sereious, I’m straight edge I don’t drink or smoke or anything so people just don’t invite me because it’s not my thing, so I honestly can’t Answer that question any better” 🙃

Anyone curious I got paid 50 euros for 5 hours so idk, more or less 60-65 dollars for a day. The thing is that while I only pointed out the best of the uni whenever a ‘bad’ question like this came up I answered honestly because honestly, even though there aren’t many things that are ‘bad’ about my uni, I’d feel bad for a person to waste a year of fees and the government grant for your first university course just because of that particular thing that they really couldn’t get over it

do the homework, especially try harder since at least in my country, high schools focus on the grades you get in 7th grade the most, try making new friends through interests (e.g hearing someone talk about a video game you know and trying to join in on the conversation) and wear deodorant
as a student tour guide (student ambassador, w/e), i'm usually pretty honest. i dont necessarily describe the school in a horrible light, im just realistic about the experience.
Kind of unrelated but my highschool parking spots were 80$ to buy for a single semester. I only remember it because I lived like 20 minutes away and its took forever to walk every morning. I lived in an extremely rural town with barely anyone there and the price was a rip off

But you don’t have to be alone… I mean I did the tour with my father because I wanted him to see it too, but I asked all the questions and he let me take charge and ask more about the programs and what I wanted to see: nothing wrong with bringing your parent as long as you’re not totally piggy backing off of them

So nearly everyone picked my friend Jake and the others pick other people, but noone picked me 🥲🤣 So the teacher had to put the kids with the other tour guides and me and when around 5 kids came to me one cried and the others just looked sad. So by the time we got outside one teacher said to them if they want to they can go and explore by themselves, and everyone I had did. 🥲🥲🥲 Oh well

I'd do it myself, having parents do it for me sounds more embarrassing than doing it myself tbh cause it'd seem like I was too dependant on them.
