Only just discovered Cass, what an incredible woman! Watched a documentary about her, can’t believe the way she was treated by not only the media, but her own band mates who were suppose to be her friends! They were just jealous because Cass had the talent, and they didn’t. RIP Mama, your music will live on forever ❤
I love how she stares down the camera just before the end of the first verse (it hangs them up, to see someone like you) It seems she knew she was looking in the wrong camera but continued until she stared down the correct camera as if it were intentionally directed at someone who didn’t think she would make it alone. It also felt like she was sending a positive message to viewers as if to say “They said I couldn’t do it, and it pisses them off that I actually did it and YOU TOO can do whatever you want! Just be yourself.”
This may be "her own kind of music," but her kind is my kind, and so many millions and millions of others'. If nobody else is singing along, it's only because there's just about nobody else up at that level, remotely near her angel level. She's a taste of Heaven here on earth, only granted to us too briefly probably because Heaven was missing one of its sweetest voices and most beautiful hearts.
I was born in 1972, I remember hearing this now that this came back at my 51st year it still breaks my heart to hear somebody sing my pain knowing how much we have to make do on our own.
I think about her songs all the time! She was awesome and really was so unappreciated. I get emotional when I think about what she went through. 😢 her voice is unmatched.
@@dodeukiJohn Philips of The Mamas and the Papas taunted her brutally for her weight. Among others. She struggled to lose weight and went through dangerous weight loss ”cures”. And started to use heavy drugs. Her heart couldn’t cope with the drugs. She was a single mom.
I've commented on other Mama's & Pappas you tube songs that they were my favorite 60's group even though I was born in "60 so I don't remember everything about the 60's.Cass Elliot had such a beautiful voice so sad she died so young. If she was around today she would of been helped.RIP Cass.
Это бесподобно! Можно слушать вечно❤ Какой талантище! Как жаль, что мама Касс покинула нас так рано. Думаю, она ещё не раз порадовала бы нас своим чудесным голосом! Вечная память и спасибо за свет, который ты излучала!
We're still listening, Cass.
Yes, Please
yes, we’re still listening.
❤
And it's 2023❤
Absolutely! ❤️❤️
55 years later, we’re still vibing 🙌🏼❤️
R.I.P Cass! Your voice was distinctive ,carried Mamas and Papas, your solo career was too short. At least we can still remember you!
I have said that she carried the Mama's and the Papas many times.
So beautiful ! So talented ! - 'LEGEND' 😢💔🙏
@KeithMather-r4g Some voices stick in your head, Cass is one if them. Her first single was one I wrangled off my brother.

This style of music, ‘sunshine pop’ was the pinnacle of everything American in the 1960s, it’s just amazing and stays timeless ❤
You know someone had a beautiful and amazing angelic voice when the microphones from 54 years ago still sound like a angel is singing
Somewhere in eternity
Mama Cass Elliot is still singing
You transcend generations.
Don’t call her mama!! She hated that :))

Live vocals. Incredible pitch
This is a live vocal from Cass Elliot. As a singer, I promise you she is not lip syncing this performance. I love her voice so much.
I was just about to post an identical comment. ❤singer here also
You don’t have to be a singer to hear that it’s sung live. I can clearly hear it’s live vocals.
@@koningkoe Isn't she great?

as a fellow musician, I totally concur. Cass was so amazing !
I was 10 years old when I fell in love with Cass's voice. Even my 40 year old parents enjoyed listening to her.

No one has ever had such a beautiful and powerful voice as Cass Elliot. Her music will be loved forever.

One of the songs from the soundtrack of my childhood. 👱♀️💜
Still one of my favorite artists, second only to the Carpenters. Cass and Karen Carpenter had voices that compared to no one else.
