  • Ventrac 4500Z plowing a driveway with the V-Plow (KV552) while in nice heated cab (KW452). Snow accumulations where in the 8-12 inch range with some wind mixed in. This was video was filmed in February of 2020 with the GoPro Hero 8. This was a case of helping someone in need. The owner of the property is a friend, who was laid up and unable to move his own snow at the time. He dose have an open station John Deere 4720 with a loader and bucket that he can use to move snow if need be. I used the Ventrac, simply because it had a HEATED CAB.
    Thank you for watching!

    I’ve never lived where it snows so this was very interesting. Made me realize how much extra work my brother has to exert to live where he does now. Wow! That was a very kind thing to do for your friend in need. Pray he's better now🙏

    It is a nice machine, especially with blower and mower. I have an 8' Blizzard plow on a 4x4 dump truck, so watching this plow was a bit painful; however, you use what you have.

    Nicely done. Kind of an oddly satisfying video

    Probably the best video on u tube showing what that Machine is capable of doing in snow with a blade on it I think when you can get the blower attachment it would take less time with that big of a job and snow amount
    I am very envious of you congratulations on your success with your work

      At the time this video was filmed, we didn't have a snow blower for the Ventrac, but we do now. Where I'm located at, we have had very little snow this winter and nothing worthy enough for TH-cam content. We used the snow blower once and that was at the end of October in 2020 with 6-8 inches on the ground. Since then, we mainly have had freezing rain type storms, so it been just salt runs more the most part. I did take a video with the GoPro Hero 8 using the snow blower, but It just didn't turn out, unfortunately. Thank you for watching!

    How warm does it really get with the heater on the highest setting…when outside is 20 degrees…regards, Tony

      At 20 degrees you’d be hot at the highest setting. You could wear a t-shirt and be comfortable.

    In your opinion is this machine under powered? Or is that low rpms seems to run out of push in a hurry! Been looking at these machines but have never tried one is this the gas or diesel.

    • @westriverlawnsnow3452
      @westriverlawnsnow3452  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I wouldn't say its under powered. We have the Z model and it has the 3 cylinder Kubota gas(32.5HP). If your are or are going to be a commercial user, I would recommend getting the Z because you then have the engine option with the most HP and torque. Keep in mind that the Z is thirsty, about 1.2-1.3 GPH with the engine broke in. To my knowledge the Z is the most popular model, and the Y(3 cylinder Kubota diesel) is second in popularity. The Y will do everything that the Z will do, just slower. Working on Hills/Slopes are what really seem to bring the Y to its knees. The Y burns roughly 0.5 gallon less than the Z. You do the math with 1,000 hours of operation and there is a fairly significant amount in fuel savings, especially with off-road fuel which in my area is roughly $0.40 less per gallon than on-road fuel.

    Machine is pretty nice but a little under sized for that task. When you clear the end of the drive by the road always put as much snow upwind of the drive so the big plow doesnt screw you over. Also never try to go over your same path twice, learn where the scoop works best on a V plow. This will cut your time down maybe by 30 percent. This is from 45 years of my own mistakes. Love the machine but everything has its max and it looks like your right there. Like others have said a blower would be better but they dont give those away either. Every thing considered nice machine and good job.

    blower would be much more efficient vs plow and going over and over same area

      At first I thought, well he's going to clear the driveway. Then I realized he was clearing just about the whole yard.

    for the price, one wonders why the hydraulics are so noisy , always wanted one till watching this video. definitely a blower would be much more practical. hydraulic is definitely a deal breaker

      The cab multiples the hydro noise by a fair amount. The new 4520 has a 20cc pump where as the 4500 has a 15cc pump. The hydro noise from what I'm told and somewhat heard is considerably less. Check out Ventrac's videos on the 4520. I've personally never operated the new 4520, but I hope to in the near future. The best piece of advice I can give you is to, GET IN THE SEAT.

    Got tired of watching toys at work! Way too small for snow removal! A snow shovel would work too, if the customer had the time!
