Just to clarify, if you listen to the guy talk, the cylinder liners have 110k psi strength, and they run 80 psi of boost. But of course if they guy holding the mic knew the difference, he'd probably be doing something more useful than holding a mic.
Zach Brown in order to get click baited you have to actually bieleve the title and thumbnail or else you just be clicking most people who aren't upset at the title understand a car can't make that much boost..
Cocaine Fish Your name is cocaine fish but have a pic of a dolphin. Therefore your pic is a misleading click bait piece of shit. The title is the same as a vine video that you see of a girl with tits. You click on it hoping to see some tits (cause you can see any in person) and get disappointed. You. Is. A. Titty. Baby.
+It's that shit that comes out of oranges.... [it was all sarcastic] In other words I don't have an F650, and as if it could even turn up to this thing! lol.
Why did it only go 12.16 at 75 mph if it had all this work and running at 130 psi of boost? I noticed it was all over the place and the driver was working like a slave to drive it, but I thought it would lay down a better number than that...
He lets off at like the 1/8th mile and you can here his motor not pushing anymore, to me it looks like it was getting to unruly so he left off to gain control again
I know he was working it and looked like it wanted to get out shape, and then he shut it down and they called numbers... I scratched my head a second on that one
He didn't even get to the 1/8th before he shut it down it was prob doing 100mph 1.5-2 seconds into the run. He could probably hit 7s with that build. These are just shakedown runs for these guys anyway. Breaking in a new build.
I'm a mechanical engineer. The guy in the video is referring to the high strength steel cylinder walls inserts that have a 110,000 psi yield strength. Yield strength is a measure of the amount of stress a material can take before plastic deformation occurs. The truck still makes an amazing 80+ psi of boost tho. And for anyone who doesn't know anything about boost pressure: Boost pressure is the pressure of the air/fuel mixture going into the engine. Think of an air compressor.
Are you really that clueless or was it just a clickbait move? lol. The cylinder SLEEVES are capable of withstanding 110,000lbs per square inch. That is not the level of boost he is running.
Take that money and put it in a gas/alcohol engine and vehicle and run 6's all day long. I never understood the big deal with trying to go fast in a diesel, but it was pretty interesting to watch.
+Eric Johnson First off not completely true. Torque will snap you hard off the line. A build turbo diesel pulls like nobodies business. Second, diesel trucks aren't exactly lacking in horsepower. People just look more at the torque. of you build a hot rod car to 1000 hp and a diesel truck to 1000 hp they both have 1000 hp just the same. But that diesel has twice as much torque. I'll take that any day.
Tyrone Jackson I agree, they make good horsepower but they weigh more. I'm not saying diesel sucks but I'm saying dollar for dollar a gas/alcohol will beat a diesel on the strip every time.
+Eric Johnson Ha Ha Ha ....i can make 1000hp with 5.9L cummins for about 3000 $ and it will last for ever ...The V8 spark ignited engine ....loll ....bring on the $ to do that ...for a few passes ...and i still can haul my boat with that pick up an beat that Vette on the 1/4 mile on the week end...!
all that money spent in that truck and you still need to left a hand out of the steering wheel to push a shift button? paddle shift are available even in go karts and fords!
this guy came out to test and tune at Kil Kare raceway in Xenia last year.....you have to see this damn thing, the video is good, but doesn't do it justice lol.......crazy
+busa pilot it looks like he has too much boost intern to much power which meant that he couldn't put it down on the ground and only went in the 12s at 75 mph. this thing is clearly capable of 8's maybe upper 7's
Actually, when I first saw it I thought it was a re-purposed pulling truck. The chassis and clam-shell body gives it away. Just change the tires, gears and suspension and send it down the track
Also, why is he doing burnout in the water in second part? That just throws water up into the wheel wells. It can then drip down onto the tires and cause wheelspin
Why not use a launch control solenoid setup for the brake? That's not only dangerous but impossible to be consistent with the setup they have. Driver is having to do way too much other than drive, get that stuff figured out and it should be interesting.
Yeah, hand throttle wtf? You can hold the brakes and throttle and clutch with just yer feet..but what makes more sense than a hand throttle is a hand BRAKE...DUH
I'm surprised we haven't entered into the next ice age with the shit these trucks pump out. lol. You can't see the truck for shit after 60ft. Looks violent as hell too. I can see why some people like diesels, they produce crazy torque figures too but it's just not my thing. Not knocking it though. Each to their own and all that.
The diesel smoke actually isn't near as bad as it looks, it's mostly carbon which just floats back to the ground and gets absorbed back into the soil where plants can use it, the harmful emissions that it puts out are actually in a much lower quantity compared to a gas engine of similar size.
+TwilightTheShooter It's far worse than just carbon. It's a mix of a bunch of carbon compounds, including nasty stuff like Benzene compounds. Not to mention that those particulates are horrendously bad for your lungs anyway, before considering that they are known to be cancerous. Diesels should be kept on the road for hauling loads, and even smoky pickup trucks are just a sign of lazy tuners who would rather use excess fuel instead of a decent compound turbo setup.
"It'll do 0-60 in 1 second." It ran 75 at 12.16....and pay no attention that he's almost losing control at 75. Shakedown run or not, this should read: "My son's going to crash it before he breaks into the high 8's and I sure hope nothing bad happens to him."
I understand but its one of a million different things we do to add green house gases. I'm truly concerned about our planet & the negative effects we have on it, but, I loooove cars. I'm so torn lol
Sounds terrifying. I fear for the generations to follow. The generations before us starting rolling us in a direction we can't change & it seems to be a cliff. Our species should survive, though, not without loss of life. I think fear may be the reason why those with the greatest wealth in the world have an overall contingency plan. Hopefully more will be saved than all those damn conspiracies say lol
Just because you can see the smoke doesn't mean it's worse than petrol. I'm pretty sure the only reason it's smoking that much is because it's running off diesel.
I think they mean 110,000 pounds of thrust not boost. Nothing man has ever made can han handle 110,000 lbs of boost. That would literally send a tank into orbit. No joke. Turbonetics made a huge turbine that produced over 20k lbs of THRUST.
When they light the afterburner it gets 110,000 lbs. of thrust. But once it gets past 60 malla narra ram air takes affect and it becomes a turbo ramjet.
Why do they produce so much smoke like that... I know because it's diesel but i mean what are the physical reasons? I have a diesel and it hardly blows any smoke how come?
What is this supposed to run? I worked at New England Dragway over 20yrs ago during one of the Truck meets. There was a guy that ran 9's w/a modified GMC pu that had a Detroit in it w/2 nitrous bottles in the bed that was shortened. Put out a lot less smoke too. Pretty sure it was a mostly steel body as well.
So I am learning about all this race and performance stuff and I guess 110,000 lbs is a typo then? Oh well the way he says "sixtymilnour" at 2:21 makes up for it.
Anyone who knows the Royalty family know how dedicated to this sport. They love diesel engines more than gas. Merritt was big in tractor super stock pulling in the 70's/80's. So his son Steve had to inherit some bad habits hanging around the pulling crowd. He also one a 50,000. race in a borrowed dragster. I'd put Stevie in anything that I wanted to go super quick. Give that crew time... they will get that truck figured out. And when they do, let's hear from you Candy Ass MF'ers out there.
All he needs is to reposition the sureshift... he went slightly off his line waiting for the rpm so he could hit the next gear. Within that split second he was in the gravel trying to slap another gear before he realized where he was... if he's able to keep eyes on the tarmac and shift that beast would be flawless!!
Is that right? It only ran a 12.16?! How disappointing. I was expecting much quicker. My gasoline 6cyl Buick does 10s and I can drive it on the street without any issues.
+Cjray1117 in this application they expect to run only like 30 seconds per pass,, so the block really doesnt get much chance to get hot it's likely towed back to the pits,, and back to the line where it's started off a cart
Wahoo 110,000 lbs of boost !!!!!! hmm lets do some math .6.7 liters X 61ci per liter , that's 409 ci . 110,000 lbs of "boost" / 14.7 ( one atmosphere ) = 7482 .. 7482 x 409 = 3060138 cubic inches of theoretical displacement . Divide that by 8 cylinders = 382517 ci . divide that by (14.7 x 238 ) and we find that each cylinder needs 109 gallons of fuel to fire one time . yeah I think that fuel cell might be a tad small
I think you added to many zero's,maybe 110lbs of boost.i do wonder how many turbo's it would take to build that kind of boost.knowing no engine could withstand that kind of pressure, cool truck
Seems like he's got alot going on behind the wheel. Plus the truck hooked up something fierce and its making a whole lotta torque coming off the line. Tires broke loose and shook real hard and had to stay away from the wall too! Thats just my two cents✌
Video good. Comments hilarious! This one really brought out the teknishuns who know more than you (or the guys in the video). Lol don’t start reading unless you got plenty of time.
I clicked this video think this truck had a jet engine lol 110,000lbs of boost, if that was the case what clamps would hold the intake and intercooler piping together lol..... 80 psi boost is so ridiculous I love it
The fact that some people in the comments actually believed that an engine could hold 110 000 pounds of boost is the funniest part of this video. Stick to farming guys
Just to clarify, if you listen to the guy talk, the cylinder liners have 110k psi strength, and they run 80 psi of boost. But of course if they guy holding the mic knew the difference, he'd probably be doing something more useful than holding a mic.
Most people can't read and are shit-for-brains at listening comprehension.
130psi, 80 to launch
Custom motorcycles
@@craigmurphy4649 Right on !!!!!!
100% the turbo, intake and valves cant take more than 20% of the claimed boost
misleading title
Phil Washburn
Ya think?
Click bait piece if shit
Zach Brown in order to get click baited you have to actually bieleve the title and thumbnail or else you just be clicking most people who aren't upset at the title understand a car can't make that much boost..

The PMS so you actually think there's fish out there doing cocaine ? That's how click bait works buddy .
"That's a 60 mal n' arr"
Amen
Not for non car guys who complain about that smoke and monstrous sound,I love this ,this is my dream ride
I like how they lure you in with 110,000 psi of boost lol..80 is still very impressive though
Anyone who is impressed by 110,000 psi of boost" is either dumb enough to know boost and also stupid enough to believe it
Clickbait
80 psi is absolutely nuts
He said 80psi at launch, the waste gate is set to 130psi
maybe if he flipped his tow mirrors up it would have pulled harder
too complicated to launch they should make it more easy on the kid so he concentrates on the run.
I was thinking the same thing. This entire video led up to a couple of burnouts and a bad run.
this, 100%.
My Ford 351 Cleveland F650 on Orange juice and Nitrous, can almost beat this beast!
+Carat Cranker lolol noi t can't. He coasted half way down the track
+It's that shit that comes out of oranges.... [it was all sarcastic] In other words I don't have an F650, and as if it could even turn up to this thing! lol.
wow, he really needs to mount those switches on the steering wheel, that's some wild driving. impressive.
Why did it only go 12.16 at 75 mph if it had all this work and running at 130 psi of boost? I noticed it was all over the place and the driver was working like a slave to drive it, but I thought it would lay down a better number than that...

robert hutcheson it got really squirrelly and he shut it down at maybe 2/3 track, it ran low 12s shutting down at 2/3 track, think about that lol
He shut it down moron
0 - 60 in 1 sec , 60 - 75 took 11.16 sec , well at least with all that smoke the American Indians on the reservation got the message
+alan scott He shut it down and coasted.
hahahahahahahahahahaha I was thinking the same thing. 0-60 in one second. lmfao
That was the FUNNIEST Comment I've ever read!..Still laughing.. LMFAO!
All 6 judges agree... A PERFECT 10 from each Judge! 🙋
+alan scott,
I'd say they got the message......three states away! lol! One helluva ass haulin' Diesel!

BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHA
+J Tabilisma sixty moar gnar!! I was thinking the same thing when he said that lol
I only saw the youtube thumbnail title, I though it was going to say Flirting with disaster makes 110,000 lbs of soot...
Graham Wilson HAHAHA....basically that too

Love watching these things, a shame the diesel event I was going to cover got rained on :/
BigKleib34 Capital Raceway Sept 20
and that's at 60 mallanar
unicycle master do you mean maulahnarah
But next year we'll get 70 mill naur.
All that screwing around for 75 mph......

That boost hits like Tyson, holy smoke 😈

Fuck that looks scary as shit to drive.
air shift that thing and keep your hands on the wheel

The cylinder SLEEVES are capable of withstanding 110,000lbs per square inch. That is not the level of boost he is running.
I was like ohhh nooooooo when he said that
It was a satirical twist to a phrase the owner made in the video. Ya took the title way too literal sir
+rekjavicxxx I should of picked up on it tbf. i mean it WAS just a tad over the top! lol.
Apologies.
+Terrance Adrian don't apologize he knows what he put and he knew it was serious clickbait
No.... There was no taking it too literal... In the title you are saying that they make 110,000lbs of boost. That is lying, sir. >:(
that was some seriously brutal acceleration !!!
well at least the truck looks fuel efficient.
Diesels are very fuel efficient
If you can let me use that engine for 10 minutes i would be able to generate enough electricity for 5 days for my house....
LOL
WOW! That's a lot of boost! My 7.3 only ran at 80,000 PSI. Which isn't much I wanted to get a bigger turbo...
lol
+ALABAMA RTR lol 80,000 psi of boost huh?
WHHHAAT?! no turbo has balls to go 80,000 OR 110,000 PSI! the title is clickbait. the amount of boost a turbo can handle is only 100+PSI for diesel
whoosh
Pidgeon strait over yer head
It makes 130ibs of boost max.
110,000psi is the tensile strength of the billet steel used to make the cylinder liners
No one:
Diesels:💨💨💨
*correction
No one:
People who modify diesels:💨💨💨
That beast is a handful!
Take that money and put it in a gas/alcohol engine and vehicle and run 6's all day long. I never understood the big deal with trying to go fast in a diesel, but it was pretty interesting to watch.
+Eric Johnson Diesels make more torque than gassers can't even dream about making.
True, but HP is what gives you the ET. I think it's interesting but just not my thing.
+Eric Johnson First off not completely true. Torque will snap you hard off the line. A build turbo diesel pulls like nobodies business. Second, diesel trucks aren't exactly lacking in horsepower. Around 0:55 he says "80lbs of boost"
"110,000 psi cylinder liners" is not any kind of reference to manifold pressure
So... it doesn't have 110,000 psi of boost?
all that money spent in that truck and you still need to left a hand out of the steering wheel to push a shift button?
paddle shift are available even in go karts and fords!
+thedog556 flinstones mode!! jajajjaja
+thedog556 the silly part is not the tranny is the shift method
Thats the first thing I saw. Why is he taking his hand off the wheel to push a button to shift.
These guys think a paddle shifter is want is used for making a canoe move.
Needs a mini-me to ride along for help steering.
this guy came out to test and tune at Kil Kare raceway in Xenia last year.....you have to see this damn thing, the video is good, but doesn't do it justice lol.......crazy
Indeed man! Definite must see
+busa pilot it looks like he has too much boost intern to much power which meant that he couldn't put it down on the ground and only went in the 12s at 75 mph. this thing is clearly capable of 8's maybe upper 7's
Now is this a cummins or something else?
I've since moved, but I did live close enough to have my windows rattle. Good times
+RAPODUZTRAZ yes. 6.7
Liners are 110ksi/758MPa UTS steel. Likely heat-treated 4130-4140 Cr-Mo.
whaaaat 12.16? That's slow I was hoping like 8 seconds or something..
Watch the follow-up vid. He runs 9's
+rekjavicxxx Oh okay
he came off it you blind fool.
Ip Tan Oh thanks for pointing that out I didn't realize I was blind.
he come off it half track... you blind? AND deaf?
truck starts at 2:55
110,000 psi would blow the truck off the planet. 110 psi is what is usually run on pulling truck's lol
Actually, when I first saw it I thought it was a re-purposed pulling truck. The chassis and clam-shell body gives it away. Just change the tires, gears and suspension and send it down the track
+bkm72 no. chassis is way different
AZBADBOYz automatic with a trans brake :p
AZBADBOYz I was thinkin the same thing
quadguy112895 4èh uu
Yeah, hand throttle wtf? You can hold the brakes and throttle and clutch with just yer feet..but what makes more sense than a hand throttle is a hand BRAKE...DUH
Screw that, this is what makes it interesting.
I turn on my adblock just for your videos
"110,000 Pounds of boost"
Immediate play and dislike (which I almost never do)
Mile per hour all one word. That's just how it's done at 60 mph
CO2 levels rose 10% that day
4:14 dat launch tho

I'm surprised we haven't entered into the next ice age with the shit these trucks pump out. lol.
You can't see the truck for shit after 60ft. Looks violent as hell too.
I can see why some people like diesels, they produce crazy torque figures too but it's just not my thing.
Not knocking it though. Each to their own and all that.

+VIsubby lies
Too much backpressure at the butthole.
"It'll do 0-60 in 1 second." It ran 75 at 12.16....and pay no attention that he's almost losing control at 75. Shakedown run or not, this should read: "My son's going to crash it before he breaks into the high 8's and I sure hope nothing bad happens to him."
He lost control because of the tire spinning you half twit, he rolled through the end going 75...it wasn't a full run
+jarred Floyd What's with the "half twit" you little nut muncher? You just said the same thing I did, but added that his tires were spinning.
Now that's Cool!!!
Any idea what kind of RPM he made?
***** well its governed at 4500rpm so less then 4500rpm
Not anymore its not lol
Its not governed
It’s a diesel so probably not insane
I like how this guy just tells you everything.
Physics force induced my finger to dislike 110,000 times
The kid that runs this truck must be the best driver in the world.
Don't even get to see a good run ,and ridiculous title...
You obviously didn't watch the follow-up video. Nothing disappointing about that one
Oh yeah? Did it make 110,000lbs of boost that time?
Hook a trailer to that thang.
That looked terrifying!
He probably ran a bad time cause he ran out of gas lol
Ol Merritt's a good guy.. good family.
I love cars, I love racing, but that exhaust smoke is DISGUSTING to watch. Its not worth the damage to our atmosphere.
I understand but its one of a million different things we do to add green house gases. I'm truly concerned about our planet & the negative effects we have on it, but, I loooove cars. I'm so torn lol

Just because you can see the smoke doesn't mean it's worse than petrol. I'm pretty sure the only reason it's smoking that much is because it's running off diesel.
That could be true, I don't know the difference when it comes to the raw numbers but diesel definitely gives a better visual perspective lol
That's carbon, shit just falls back down onto the ground
I wish i was as cool as that kid standing there with his arms crossed lol
it's not 110,000 lbs of boost genius ,that is the psi strength of the cylinders he was talking about,he said between 80 and 100 lbs of boost .
I think they mean 110,000 pounds of thrust not boost. Nothing man has ever made can han handle 110,000 lbs of boost. That would literally send a tank into orbit. No joke. Turbonetics made a huge turbine that produced over 20k lbs of THRUST.

This is in the top 5 coolest set ups !!!!
Is there video of the launch from outside?
The most amazing thing about this vid is the guy ran a 12 @ 75mph and he shut down the engine at like the 1/8th mile and just coasted lol
So I am learning about all this race and performance stuff and I guess 110,000 lbs is a typo then? Oh well the way he says "sixtymilnour" at 2:21 makes up for it.

Robert Davis, you must have gone to the same school they did. The word is won not one. one is a number, DUH!
He corrected you on the boost misunderstanding but you still labeled the video wrong?
1,000hp to psi=????psi, help
thats one wild ride if there ever was one!
Havent seen that much smoke since saddams guys set kuwaits oil fields on fire!!!

+Cjray1117 in this application they expect to run only like 30 seconds per pass,, so the block really doesnt get much chance to get hot it's likely towed back to the pits,, and back to the line where it's started off a cart
Oh sweet thanks man!
Holy hell!!!! That launch!!!
Did the truck pass the smog test...or not?
What kind of billet steel is only 110,000 PSI tensile strength ??
Isn't good steel typically 220,000 ??
These guy's sould have named this truck James Bond smoke screen.
i think youll find that knocking noise is just a diesel knock due to over fueling???
He was talking about the cylinder liner pressure rating, not the boost level. It runs at 80 pounds of boost.
Wahoo 110,000 lbs of boost !!!!!! hmm lets do some math .6.7 liters X 61ci per liter , that's 409 ci . 110,000 lbs of "boost" / 14.7 ( one atmosphere ) = 7482 .. 7482 x 409 = 3060138 cubic inches of theoretical displacement . ...and that's at 60 'murr 'nurr!!!! Hahaha love it!!
I remember my first time watching formula one on speedvision POV and was literally glued to the screen ... they banned that too lol
Is it common to put a fuel cell in front of the engine on these drags? It doesn't seem to safe.
I think you added to many zero's,maybe 110lbs of boost.i do wonder how many turbo's it would take to build that kind of boost.knowing no engine could withstand that kind of pressure, cool truck
it sounds like he shut the motor down before he passed the traps? that would explain the eta and mph gap.
Lmfao must be a damn nasa rocket with that much boost 😂😂😂
Did they get Molly Hatchet's blessing/permission to use the name? I know when my buddy had his car called FwD he had their permission.
110000 psi of boost
*CLICKBAIT CONFIRMED*
Seems like he's got alot going on behind the wheel. Plus the truck hooked up something fierce and its making a whole lotta torque coming off the line. Tires broke loose and shook real hard and had to stay away from the wall too! Thats just my two cents✌
The torque on these diesels is just violent looks like hell trying to put it to the ground
Video good. Comments hilarious! This one really brought out the teknishuns who know more than you (or the guys in the video). Lol don’t start reading unless you got plenty of time.
110,000lbs psi strength in the cylinder sleeves,80 psi boost, not bad!
The title is a bit off...lmao!
I clicked this video think this truck had a jet engine lol 110,000lbs of boost, if that was the case what clamps would hold the intake and intercooler piping together lol..... 80 psi boost is so ridiculous I love it
2 stroke this trucks bad ass what a insane build.
There must be a typo on this head line as its impossible to pack 110,000 lbs of boost into any engine without blowing the heads off.
VW watches video...corporate heads explode
The fact that some people in the comments actually believed that an engine could hold 110 000 pounds of boost is the funniest part of this video. Stick to farming guys
110,000 lbs of boost to go 75mph.....impressive!
I know that setup can do better than a 12 second pass.......
Don't tell me what you can do show me what you did see it coming out of that Cummins
bit of a difference between 110,000psi and 130psi...
especially when he says 110k psi STEEL LINERS, not boost...
