Interesting! Besides that, I've been getting lousy, pixelated look in mine, even though I scanned at 1200 dpi, don't know why, maybe my flatbed scanner is a bit crappy (well, it is). Cheers and thx for your video!

the real secret is to use a high quality sheet feed scanner. stupid fast and no newton rings, ever.

Great video. I have been using the scan adapter for so long and just a couple of days ago was like "what if I skipped this taping, scraping tape off of the back of my polaroids, breaking one file into four files step?" Love the simplicity of one at a time and also rarely experience newton rings.
I saw in your mirror shot that you're using the i2. I know that we all know that it over exposes, but I recently watched a video that claimed that the meter acts differently depending on what mode your in. It said that if you're in auto, and full sun, you usually want to stop it down 2/3 of a stop BUT that the meter actually behaves accurately if you're shooting in full manual. Have you found this to be true at all? I -2/3 regardless of mode and THINK that that's doing the job, but I'd be curious to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for watching! And yep, definitely experienced that with I-2. Did a video about it a while back: studio.th-cam.com/users/videoFaEVPSZLFBo/edit
But yeah I've been shooting with this camera daily for a long time now and I've gotten used to the light meter weirdness, although they just updated the firmware to supposedly fix it. We'll have to see about that though haha

@@doublenegative4real Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I did watch this video back in the day and the rewatch was helpful! It's your opinion that it over exposes in both auto and manual mode! Copy that and thanks again. So excited for this firmware update to roll out!

If you use your scanner software in document mode you can select multiple areas to scan. This will create an individual file for each selected area. So if you use the scan adapter and scanner software properly the adapter will save you the time of editing newton rings and save you time of placing each polaroid on the scanner individually.
Edit to add that the scanner will scan each selected area at your chosen dpi.

@@sethpotterphoto cool, didn’t know that! The other issue with the adapter is that it’s black which leave a shadow on the edge of my Polaroid frames and doesn’t give me white outside the Polaroid with which to use auto tone or auto color in photoshop if the scanning colors are off

@@doublenegative4real sure 👍. Please take a look at the Polaroid scans in my recent video and let me know if you genuinely see any issues with shadows or off colors because I don’t believe there are any.
