How to Format USB Flash Drive as NTFS for Xbox One Recordings / DVR (Best Method)

Do you want to know how to fortmat your USB flash Drive as NTFS for your xbox one DVR recordings??? This will allow you to use external storage to record xbox one clips that are longer than 1 hour! To use a USB flash drive on the xbox one you first need to format the flash drive NTFS for you to be able to record gameplay as an external storage device. To format the drive you will need a computer available to you. Once the drive is formatted plug it into your xbox one and go to the capture settings and switch your recording path from internal storage to external storage.

Thanks for going through the steps. I hadn't realised you need the 'Storage device' setting step. This solved the problem I was having.
Although, on my Xbox Series X, you can't set the 'Capture location' to External. There is not 'External' option. But it still records the the USB device without selecting this option.

So I have been attempting to record 1 hour clips on my xbox one and bought an external Seagate hard drive 1TB. It then told me to format to a NTFS which I proceeded to do on a windows computer. However, whenever I try and set it as my capture location it says the same message, "format this to a NFTS". I just got a 128GB flash drive for the very reason to record longer videos on my Xbox one but every time I plug it in y xbox prompts me to use the flash drive for media or format it again.
