- In this video I go through few different scenarios in which the dependent of H1B visa holder who is on H4 can work and the scenario in which the dependent cannot work.

H-4 EADs are only granted to the H-4 spouses and dependents of H-1B holders who have an I-140 petition submitted and approved by the USCIS. Also, if the I-140 is revoked, withdrawn, or otherwise removed, the H-4 holder will not be able to renew his or her EAD when it expires unless another I-140 is approved for the principle H-1B holder.

@@MandarKasture Yes indeed! I was planning to go to USA with my wife on H1B and myself on H4. I was informed that i could work very easily. But the terms and conditions you explained made me realise it is not possible and it will take alot of time.
I feel Canada is much better alternative. Is there anyway to be directly connected with you? I wouldn’t bother you much, but just incase.

quick question man, so If I recieved an offer for a job with H1B visa and convince my employer to fill the form I-140 for me right away. That allow my wife the possibiility to fill the i-765 to get the EAD right? Do employers can fill the I-140 right away ? or do I have to wait some time? Thanks man

Sir, can h1b visa holders work online on free time, any online data entry jobs?
Technically no. H1b is supposed to work only for the sponsoring employer. That said they could do passive investments, trading and such. Anything that will produce a W2 or 1099 (other than the H1b sponsor) would be violation of H1b terms. There is also a thing called concurrent H1b that is intended for multiple jobs on H1b at the same time. H4 EAD holder however can do multiple jobs or business. Hope this helps.
