    Finally, a person who knows what they're talking about! This helped me understanding tenses better, when learning for an English test.

    Great lesson, thanks a lot! You're an excepcional teacher indeed. I've watched nearly all your videos, and each one them is particularly interesting! Would you please give me the exact edition's name/date of this English File so that I could buy it. I'd greatly appreciate it if you could give me the information concerning the book.
    Thanks a lot!!

    7:03 you can say it is past perfect cause it has some effect to present time.

      'English File' is where the exercise is from. There are many editions, but the older versions are the best ones.

    1. Do you ever wear shoes?
    What category of the Aspect scale does the above fall into? Would it fall into the Continuous Category? or would it fall into the Present Perfect Continuous Category? Also, how far back in time would the above question encompass? Would it encompass from the time of birth to the present?

    • @Shishuuu47
      @Shishuuu47 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      tense would be past, present and future (grammatical categories) and the aspects are simple, progressive, perfect or perfect progressive.

    4:07: "I have been learning English for five years" doesn't mean they're in the middle of the period of time at all! In your example that would be only 2.5 years of learning! Yes, they're in the middle of learning English, but the 'middle of time' thing would be confusing imho.

    • @Joana1387187
      @Joana1387187 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      What he means is that the person is still learning English, still in the middle of that. The action is not finished.

    • @Shishuuu47
      @Shishuuu47 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you took it too literally. in the middle of something doesn't really mean exactly at the middle of it.. it's that you've been doing it, you're doing it at the moment and you'll continue doing it for some period of time in the future.
