I think the last stand is like a alternative version for the last 2 chapters of death toll cause they still get saved by the Salter family by boat at the end
For the original L4D version, there was some speculation (not a lot or even substantial amount) that this has some connection to Riverside. It uses the same aesthetics and music as Death Toll, and a lighthouse is visible within that same map, although no obvious paths are visible. In the L4D2 version, there are more additional connections between Death Toll and Last Stand: Both have similarly positioned chain link fences relative to each other, Death Toll now has a truck on the other side of its fence, and The Last Stand has signs that say “Riverside.” While the original map isn’t canon, _and not sure about the L4D2 version,_ it’s not likely, but it’s faithful, Originally, “The Lighthouse” was exclusive to Survival Mode, giving some extra weight to the graffiti warning survivors to get away and *Never* turn on the lighthouse. Despite being well armed, already supplied without the lighthouse’s stuff, It doesn’t end well.
You’d be right on the money. As you know, this is made with a map that’s ported over from the first Left 4 Dead…emphasis on “made with a map.” Gameplay-wise, when L4D’s first DLC, “The Survival Pack” was released, one new campaign and map was included: The Last Stand, “The Lighthouse.” Story-wise, this is a “what if” scenario, depicting the survivors having taken a wrong turn with a car during Death Toll (In L4D, the car is immediately behind the wired fence leading to the lighthouse), with some supplies already in hand. Graffiti warns any possible survivors not to turn on the lighthouse. Well equipped with additional supplies, weapons, and ammo, and desperate to call for help by any means, they ignore the warnings and initiate an endless horde. No matter how great they can fight, how well they stick together, or how sharp are their eyes, It doesn’t end well.
i'd like to think in my headcanon that this takes place between death toll and dead air, and the boat couple sends them off to go find some gas for their boat, similar to hard rain's situation, all the green gas cans left over could've been given to them, then they set sail to Dead Air's Campaign to continue their journey.
"It doesn't end well."

It's the right path at the burning bus on map 3 of death toll
I think this track was originally gonna be used for cold stream then was replaced and is used here.
When the first version of cold stream was released it actually had this theme
@@stredst3594 good to know
Wait bruh I was just listening to the soundtrack this was 2 hours ago?
Early gang go home
RIP Original Survivors, never saved from that island
RIP Non canon survivors LOL
the last stand update actually shows they were rescued
Early gang rise
One last time boys....
A bit boring for an intro theme
they could've add the main l4d1 theme at the end like the other endings
Is it just me or does this sound like there is no hope in this like it actually is the last stand (no pun intended)

Fun Fact: this was going to be used in Cold Stream, but was cut and replaced with the one we know today.
Awesome
Early gang rise
Come back?
Early gang rise
Early gang rise
Man idk why this was scrapped, the idea of the survivors taking a wrong turn seems neat
Chad l4d1 last stand map lore vs virgin l4d2 last stand map lore
I think I might have played this one but I don't remember.
the original Last Stand was a survive map, and an alternative ending for Death Toll if the survivors climbed over a fence in that map.
hello
Well, boys. I guess we're walking.
Bioshock feel to it.
Doesn't end well
we're 1/3rd down
