    I relate to the disappearing comments lol. Don't forget to occasionally check the "held for review" section in your dash. I've had perfectly normal comments get marked as spam and all kinds of weird stuff. Of course, the stuff that actually IS spam doesn't get held for review lol. Then, there's clicking on a comment notification and it's nowhere to be found. Mysterious.

      Hey Iman, thanks for the tip! I do check those occasionally but this fellow’s comment was not in there. He’s since emailed me though so I’ll get back to him that way.
      I just don’t get it, it was a perfectly legitimate comment/question. Yet the spam ones still make it through sometimes lol. Have a great night

    Haha you're a hoot Matt, and honest. Too many think Lambo money is an easy thing. Appreciate you saying NQ isn't for newbies... it's not. Life is life, sounds like you've had your adventures, most of us have. Fitting trading into a busy picture can be a challenge when you have other stuff. What matters is now right? Sounds like things are rolling along nicely for you Matt :)

    Hey Matt! Thank you for answering all these questions! U mentioned we need to look back towards the left or the past chart patterns to detect important levels. How far left do u usually look back? Suppose u r working in the 5min timeframe is it like for the past 1 hr or is it something intuitive?
    Thank you!

    Thanks for answering those questions and I really appreciate you taking the time out of your day to help us become better traders. As you recommended, I will stick with one contract on the MES for now. I would paper trade but everything is much different when you have actual money on the line. Also, I have no intentions on quitting my day job anytime soon haha

    Matt, would you recommend using a 610 tick chart to better identify the higher low (long) and lower high (short) setups at key levels? Using a 4000 tick chart you get the longer term context of the market, but it’s hard for me to get good entries and I end up getting chopped to bits

    • @DTND
      @DTND  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Grimminator, I can’t really comment on that as I haven’t looked at a 610; at least in a really long time. The 4000 is already pretty short term in the NY morning, often 1-5 minute candles. Try it though and see if it works for you. I’ll have a look at it too

    Hi Matt, quick question, why are you not compunding your account? Like every time you make 50% profit (on the 10k account), you add 1 contract. Or what ever how you want to do it.

    Hello sir, I have learnt a lot from you videos. Thanks a lot for making such informative videos. I have question for you. What would be a realistic average monthly return on capital from day trading? In terms of percentage. Thanks in advance.

    • @DTND
      @DTND  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey thank you!
      I go into this in one of my videos, th-cam.com/video/Jsl1s9hMPeE/w-d-xo.html
      Long and the short of it, in my opinion, once you’re consistently profitable, and that’s a big caveat, trading futures with a method similar to how i do - one unit of risk per day. Ie the risk of one trade per day. So if you risk 0.5% per trade, once you’re consistently profitable, I would think you should be able to expect to make 0.5% per day on average trading futures. Everyone is different of course, but that’s how I look at it.
      Really, anything better than 5% a month is good. Anything above 10% is excellent.

  • @TheRandomDave

    I've been paper trading for about a week or so. im up almost 8% so far. however, this is solely due to me getting stuck in long positions (no stop loss) and deciding to roll the dice and hold overnight. I've gotten lucky. the next day the market was up quite a bit and i closed out of my position for a good profit. this has happened to my twice so far. have you ever found yourself in this situation, Matt? how did you handle it?

    • @DTND
      @DTND  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Dave!
      I never hold a futures trade overnight. Never have and probably never will as I don’t swing trade futures. I’ve held a ton of forex trades overnight in years past though. I just like being flat overnight rather than waking up to being up or down etc.
      I wouldn’t take a trade I could get stuck in without a stop under any circumstance though. How are you getting stuck in trades? If you’re trading futures you can exit overnight except on the weekend.
      Have a great night Dave!

    Hey just found your channel and your videos, good stuff! Most of your videos are winning days, could you show a losing day and how you handle loss day (if you get losing day hahah)?

    • @DTND
      @DTND  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Stian, thank you! Glad you found us.
      There are a few losing days in there though they are quite small and some scratch days also, they’re back in the videos. I’ve shown every futures trade I’ve taken in one way or another on here since I started doing these last winter. I fortunately very rarely have losing days because of the way I trade, and that I’m content to take what i can get rather than swing for the fences. I also don’t hesitate to skip a session if I’m not in the right frame of mind or not feeling well, or if the market isn’t feeling well lol.
      Have a great night and thanks for watching.

    • @DTND
      @DTND  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Jake;
      I like to have at least 2:1 reward/risk to take a trade, ideally more, BUT I usually get out early. There has to be a reasonable target that’s far enough initially. You generally won’t see me take a 1:1 trade entry, even though I will punch out at 1:1 sometimes mid trade
