  • EP 065: How to master trading psychology, and introduce new best practises w/ Brett Steenbarger
For this episode, I interviewed a very special guest; Dr Brett Steenbarger (after many, many requests from listeners).
Brett is a very well known trading psychology coach, and has consulted to some of the biggest names in the industry. He’s also a respected author who has now published four books, some which have been recommended reading by previous guests on this podcast.
During our conversation, I asked Brett how to break bad trading habits and introduce new best practises, to explain why traders need to be adaptable in markets, plus how we should think about goal setting and measure progress. And of course, much more about how to enhance your performance as a trader.

+Chat With Traders ok. I'll just buy his book. This is an awesome interview since I struggle with trading especially in commodities.

+webreaver01, I know a few traders who've read Trading Psychology 2.0 and rave about. Hope it helps, and thanks for listening.

I love it dude! I listen to these podcasts when I'm driving and It helps me a lot because driving is usually my 'alone time' which i believe is needed for traders in general. Keep it up!

It is important to remember that trading is a risky business and that mistakes cost money. The mistake you can make, is to risk more money than you can afford to lose.

Emily Kristen Another mistake people make when starting out with trading is not having an action plan that's clear enough. That’s why I always advise newbies to always seek help from experts.

I’m looking to start trading forex, which trader expert is good enough? I’d love to know, so that I don’t end up losing my money to trading.

Great video. I should add too.. "The only way to win in the markets is to think in probabilities" (Don't attach too much significance on one trade. As long as you have a proven strategy you have tested and came up with a plan..thinking in probabilities takes emotions out) very vital yet greatly overlooked concept. I heard that first from one of the finest trading psychologist "Mark Douglas" (May his soul Rest in Peace). who sadly i only got to know of his works some months ago. Probability thinking takes emotions off!
