    I admire your profoùnd knowledge
You remind me of my father late Sri. T.K.Radhakrishnan flutist who learnt telugu to enjoy Thyagaiyar kritis who later became proficient to the extent of transliterating kritis by his father Lalithadasar.
No wonder we call the language Sundara Thelungu..
    Pramaaadamaana explanation
Expecting the same for the other pancharathna keerthanais too..
    Loads of blessings sir

Sir, a huge respect and appreciation to you for converting a criticism into constructive feedback and educating us with the nuances. Similar to “Thangapathakkam”, I remembered the dialogue in thiruvilaiyadal - on the same lines - “குற்றம் கண்டுபிடித்தே பெயர் வாங்கும் தமிழ் ஆர்வலர்கள்” நிறைய பேர் உள்ளார்கள் ! வால்க டமில் !

    சலங்கை ஒலி 'நாத வினோதங்கள்' பாட்டின் முதலில் வரும் ஸ்லோகத்தில் 'வந்தே பார்வதி பரமேஷ்வரோ' என்பது 'வந்தே பார்வதிப ரமேஷ்வரோ' என்று split ஆனது நினைவுக்கு வருகிறது..

That is correct. Parvithapa Rameshvarou is another interpretation meaning Vishnu and Shiva, an intelligent split.

      Parvati Parameswarau means Siva Parvati
ParvatiPha Rameswarau...this means Narayana..both are correct...

Sir, kudos for your energy and insights.
Another example you might want to highlight is about the Sanskrit sloka about Lord Ganesha - Agajaanana Padmaarkam Gajanana Maharnisam...Many sing the second line as "Aneka Damtham Bhaktaanaam" It should be sung as " Anekadam Tham Bhaktaanam"..
Thanks for all your efforts again.. It is a great delight to watch you..

Namaskaram. Very good idea that you have started as part of the JANNAL ORAM'S 'SPLIT'. Enjoyed the part one. As the Sahithyam gets split according to the Chandas plus Layam. Very happy to know the correct way to pronounce the words. Enjoyed a lot.🙏

Very interesting topic ! For long, I have wondered why the words are split to fit into a tune? Is it not possible to make the tune to fit to the words?! Funny part is while I was watching the video, the TH-cam ad split (started showing) when you had started "Kana kana ru" - and the rest followed after the ad break !!

It reminded me of our family legend about our Bangalore cousins visiting us at Coimbatore and asking the auto driver to go to 'periyAka .... daiveedi'.

Many popular songs have been mis-sung (murdered?) like this...
Manavi-aalakincharaadate (sung like Manvyala Kin Cha etc etc...)
Nagumomu Ganaleni (Broken has Nagumo Mu ...)
BantureetiKoluvu (also sung like - Pandu reeti Golu...OR Bantureeti Kolu (instead of Koluvu) )
    And 100s more...!

I like you you split the video into two parts 😀😀 in keeping with the theme of the video. Really loved this one and the humour that goes along here 😀. It has always been one of my pet peeves even with film music. Difficult for people who cannot read/write Tamil like me when we see new words.

Namaskaram. Though all the vocalists & musiccomposers take care in spilting the words of other than their mother tongue language sankeerthanas make glaring mistakes which ruins the real meaning. The singer gets labelled.
Thankyou for highlighting this point. Your vision, analysis and solutions are pragmatic and far reaching. we immensely enjoy your music videos.

when we split the words, it should not change the meaning. But, Sometimes, the correct splitting of words will not be musically good.
Just wanted to point out a small mistake in your amalanadhipiran singing.
You sang, அரங்கது அரவினை ஆனையான். It's actually arangathu அரவின் அனையாண். Please go through the text once.

Your "DESA-MUTH-THOOMARI" pales into insignificance - when I was terribly miffed to hear in a professional cassette recording "BAADHAGAM ELLAM AGALADHAA" as "BAADHAGA-MALAM-AGALADHAA" (in the song "SODHANAI SUMAI in ragam KAAPI) by a leading lady vocalist- in the mid 1990s- not once - twice - but everytime - how does such blunders escape the attention of all concerned is baffling! :-(

A famous criticism of KJY by Subbudu - he is signing Thaye yashodha undha Nayar kula ..." Pardon the caste reference.
