One thing about the videos is that it makes you fall in love with our beautiful country! I think thats the absolute highlight for me!! Comprehensive video review very informative and thorough. Keep going bro 💪
Living the dream my friend. This truck and trailer are a dream. It's always an inspiration to get my truck and start the journey!! Great video, keep the good work! Cheers from Brazil!
I went camping last week with my Vagabond. I tow it with a 1.5 diesel Renault Duster. Normally I get around 5.0 l/100km. After the weekend, when I got home I was on 5.9l/100km. Now this was mostly straight roads, no mountains and about 30 km dirt roads. I was seriously impressed.
Very practical camper to have, did Swartberg pass in 2018, was good brought back childhood memories when we lived in Oudshoorn in 1969 when my dad build the Holiday Innn, then we went up the pass in summer and winter with snow, fantastic pkace
Excellent trip and great review of the Caravan. I hope you are able to continue with a caravan in the future as it a great option for comfortable living on the road.
A really nice review of the Rouge. Definitely an option like you pointed for people who do not do heavy off-road 4x4ing. Maybe a small solar panel on the top just to make it a bit more self-sufficient, to keep the battery topped up. Another great and informative video.
100% it really does just need a few small thinks and it’s good to go! Very impressive! Once of those things that once it’s gone you miss it! Oh well, back to the Blade now! Maybe that setup with have new meaning to me after this! Thanks for the Support Roger!
@@RoamOverlanding that's a great little caravan! One thing I think it could use is maybe some 33 inch tall tires like on you Hi-Lux with a smidge more ground clearance if you had to traverse some nasty off road trails. I second a good strong solar panel and removing the microwave for another proper gas cooker and a second outdoor table like you mentioned in the video. Overall an excellent set-up. You have some amazing scenery over there in South Africa! That gorge is awesome, a lot of the desert areas in SA remind me of the desert Southwest of USA, like New Mexico (I lived in NM for 6 years) and Arizona in particular. Big forested woods could be like Northwestern Illinois (where I live), Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
Beautiful, it was interesting to watch this series as I am a trailer tent caravaner. In my case I have to be a bit more static whereas the Rogue looks like it is quick enough as a one night stay before moving on setup friendly. Landscape was incredible. Thank You for sharing.
I would say it’s the trailer caravan equivalent of a hardshell rooftoptent 👌🏻 might cost a bit more than a normal trailer setup; but it’s quick, effective and comfortable 👍🏻 thanks For watching bud!
This is one of my favourite channels ❤️ how about a cinematic video of your vehicle.. something within 1-2 min in length.. keep doing what you do❤️ Much love from India
Nice looking little beastie tbh. I am in Australia so we are spoiled for choice but I think that this one looks really good. In terms of offroad the solid axle and whatever that cable was hanging down looked a bit vulnerable. My idea is to go somewhere, drop the trailer as a base camp, do daytrips and then return so something like this would be perfect. Personally I would do away with the shore power stuff and run full 12 volt with solar and an inverter if needed. That particular technology is getting pretty awesome these days so wouldn't be hard to do but maybe expensive. Thanks for the video it is nice to see other places.
For sure! The concept is great, I would also make a few small adjustments to the fittings and things like that; would be fun to make a really rugged version
Biggest advantage I think the Vagabond has compared to conventional offroad campers/caravans, is the weight. The light weight plays a big role when towing offroad
I am frequently amused how these 4x4 adventure overlanders tackle the identical roads that farmers regularly drive on with standard bakkies and hardly spare a thought for the difficutly or the 4x4 grading.
I love your videos, keep them coming. Can I ask if you have been sponsored or received any benefit from the Company in making this video? I am looking at being the first UK customer.
Not manny people use trailers long term overlanding in Africa...it adds up to the cost among other unconvinient stuff..personal thought....u can find alot of them on sides of the roads ... short camping..locally...why not...depends where you live...where i live and lots of parts in europe you would struggle to turn around that rig😀😀😀...if you dont want to go to dedicated camp sites...great video...i like your work...safe travels...
12:30 Could you please tell me how tall you are? I'm 1.85 and my wife and I are considering one of these Rogues and my only concern is my length when it comes to sleeping.
@@RoamOverlanding Thank you kindly for the response. I'll definitely go and take a look. A local place does offer them on rental for R850 per day, which will be a great "Try before we buy" adventure for a weekend away.
Brake cables running "loose" and low on that trailer... the vegabond suspension is way to hard.... need a proper shackle/leaf type rear suspension on shocks.... hopefully we will see proper teardrop on SA soon...!
Would definitely be great to see something with a bit more of an offroad focus; that brake line had come loose as the cable tie snapped (not the best way to secure things but hey)
There was some dust ingress, no water leaks I noticed; and it wasn’t really cold enough to test for Condensation, but nothing that I experienced. The feedback was passed on and this was a couple years ago now, so it might be fixed by now 👍🏻
Any chance we’ll see these in the states? I’d like to have one to use for the Overland Expo in September of this year. You folks are missing on a big deal. #Jeremiah2911
Awesome video Adrian, always enjoy your content! Do you by any chance have an email address I may have a Hilux product to send you that you would really enjoy thanks 👍
This was a review of the caravan; and Die Hel is pretty rough 😂 go and watch the beginning episodes of this trip when we camped up in the mountains at 3 provinces
Thank you Adrian, even though I was feeling sleepy I couldn't postpone watching your video, South Africa is beautiful cheers I'm going to bed

Thanks Larry! This trip was special in the sense that I got to share some of the incredible variety of the country with you guys!

Awesome to hear Felipe! You’ve got a wild world of adventures ahead of you in your part of the world!

That’s really impressive! My big mud tires really don’t help me at all with fuel consumption 😂
I love the caravan utility. Looks like a beautiful trip!

That must be incredible with snow!!! Dangerous but beautiful
Amazing journey. I miss the Vagabond. Thanks for this wonderful experience
definitely getting this tear drop caravan its so practical thanks for the review brother
Excellent trip and great review of the Caravan. I hope you are able to continue with a caravan in the future as it a great option for comfortable living on the road.

Great video Adrian, very helpful my friend. Greetings from NZ.
Awesome Peter thanks for tuning in!
Hey man . enjoyed watching the Vagabond . Also sad to see it go . Keep up the adventures Roam
Glad you enjoyed it Thank you for tuning in!
It seems the aerodynamics are back to front. But I love the idea of a trailer to escape the elements. No flapping tents. Security from wild animals.
픽업트럭 여행을 보고 있으니
당장 떠나고 싶게끔 만들어 줍니다.
멋진 영상 잘보고 갑니다
nice pickup truck overlanding, trabel!!
Your camera angles are kick arse, I can just imagine the effort that goes into planning and executing.

Thanks buddy!
Awesome video man. Love these for some inspiration. Keep doing what you doing!
Glad you like them! Got Lots more epic adventures to come! :)
Hi Adrian great trip there, please could you furnish us with the route from start to finish loved the videos
Awesome Clint! I will make a video recapping the whole adventure with a map and everything 👍🏻

It looks great! The only drawback possibly is escaping from a frontal charge by a pachyderm or 3.

Just viewed the trailer here in the UK. It's awesome - now negotiating price
The Vagabond Rogue would have been an apt accessory if you would have still been using the Jimmy! Keep uploading these awesome videos.
I miss the Jimny too. 😁🤙🏻
Finally some comfortable rest at night
My brother in law went to the “Hell” a couple of times with his City Golf many moons ago , don’t need a 4x4 lol 😂
People take those little vehicles all the way up to Egypt even! 😂 use what you’ve got!

Did you have dust ingression,by the kitchen area?
Good question, that and the front should be sealed up tight and waterproofed.
Not really actually, it was pretty and it handles rain and stuff well with water gutters too
There's a snagging cable or something hanging off the bottom of that trailer left hand rear, hand brake cable??
JETSTREAM XTREME ..... try them, please if possible do a review
Amazing!
Where is the place you stayed in Mosselbay? Looks close to the beach? Nice video of Swartberg Pass
The spot in Mosselbay is called Gourikwa Reserve; its near Gouritzmond. A really great spot!! Well worth a visit.
Love watching your content from here in the 🇬🇧, what tyre pressure monitors do you use and what app is the one your using to monitor them please?
Hey Mathew, good question; it’s by a company called Cawe, they have a system called ngauge4x4 and it’s their sensors and app; it works beautifully 👌🏻

How d o you work in the kitchen when it is raining?
I wonder how one of those would work paired with a Jimny
There are a couple people doing that exact thing; check out vagabonds Facebook page
@@RoamOverlanding I also think the Jimny & Vagabond make a perfect combo. 😁🤙🏻
We have quite a few Jimny owners with Vagabond's and they are super happy!

Hi Adrian, just tug away that cable on the teardrop. It is hanging very low and will get hooked and snap.
I did indeed at the camp site 👌🏻 only noticed it then; the cable tie snapped, so I put a new one 👍🏻
Can I ask if you think the Jimny would be able to tow the Vagabond easily or not?
What tyre pressure monitors are you using
I use the CAWE Engineering, nGauge 4x4

They are called Vagabond Teardrops you can Google them 👏🏻
my uncul has a legend 50
Now you have a trailer bigger than Suzuki Jimny
Luckily I was just testing it for a couple weeks 😂
Come on mate, you need to rough it out a bit. Too much luxury for bush. You may as well stay in the city.
