I'll be brief. I'm 55, lost my mom a year ago. She was 90. After she transitioned, I realized she was my ONLY friend (aside from my husband LOL) I took her shopping, to church, out to eat, dr's appts, etc. I became a hermit when she left. I don't like it. You've inspired me to go out and find my people...my community. I don't know who they are, but I will find them. Thank you for sharing your life with us.

I just came across your videos and I am grateful. I am turning 40 next year and I have felt so defeated and like my life is over - or that I want to somehow start over. It's hard, but your videos have shown me that it's really possible. It's so nice that you met two people who share your interests, I am a very shy person so it's hard to image striking up a conversation with someone I don't know, but look at how enriching it can be! Hi Dana, Your video of starting over at 59 was suggested and after that I subscribed. Thank you for sharing your experience, I think so many people can relate. I will be 60 in October, and I just had an extremely difficult and serious surgery that has left me unable to work for 3 weeks, I am not supposed to work for another 3 weeks but because I have no savings or PTO at work I will be returning the day after Labor Day. I have no retirement or investments, so aging is challenging to me. I have no female friends and basically am alone, I am learning to be ok with that and create a loving relationship with myself. We get color 50% days throughout the week, and Monday that color tag is $1. I am located in Las Vegas but I do go to the bay area as my husband lives there. I was in Oakland a couple of weeks ago and I dragged my husband to the bins and a lady let me dig through her bales. He didn't like the bins, LOL. I would buy some of the electronics and computer parts at Goodwill on Mission St & Van Ness Ave which isn't there anymore, miss that store and have you checked out the other stores like the Salvation Army or Out of the Closet thrift stores here in San Francisco?

Hi Lisa! I actually don't go into SF very often, there is a bins in South San Francisco as well as a bunch of Goodwill stores throughout SF. Love & Hugs to you! Dana, I would love to share with you that we have a Salvation Army, Goodwill bins and we also have about 15 stores. We get color 50% days throughout the week, and Monday that color tag is $1. I am located in Las Vegas but I do go to the bay area as my husband lives there. I was in Oakland a couple of weeks ago and I dragged my husband to the bins and a lady let me dig through her bales. He didn't like the bins, LOL. I would buy some of the electronics and computer parts at Goodwill on Mission St & Van Ness Ave which isn't there anymore, miss that store and have you checked out the other stores like the Salvation Army or Out of the Closet thrift stores here in San Francisco?

Hi Lisa! I actually don't go into SF very often, there is a bins in South San Francisco as well as a bunch of Goodwill stores throughout SF.
