Nice! Didn't know Alone in the dark a new nightmare had GBC port:D As always you know how to pick interesting games, Gary) Happy 2021 New Year and Merry Christmas to you btw^_^
Thanks for Steamkey, Gary! It's BROKEN AGE, a game I played years ago on the Vita, but perfect for a laptop re-visit. Awesome. Enjoyed this video, and it immediately make me want to do some research (haha) -- but since I'm super-busy at the moment, the research will have to wait. I'm really interested in the unique versions of known console games or franchises on display here, and of course there are quite a few worthwhile stand-alone games as well. Thanks for covering some of these less-widely-known console libraries. I have a GBA, but know very little about GBC!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Of special note is the game Daikatana - which is generally regarded as quite poor in its original PC (and N64) incarnation - but is revamped extensively - and positively in GBC format. Space Station Silicon Valley is also very "interestingly" handled and is worth examination (maybe not commitment) if you are a fan of the series. Resident Evil Gaiden is also worthy of examination as a port; ditto for Metal Gear Solid. Finally, the Tomb Raider games, while clearly very polished and high budget - actually manage to capture the incredibly *clunky* nature of controlling Lara in those early PlayStation games! (Yes, that's quite a backhanded compliment...but something you have to experience if you have nightmares of trying to line up Lara perfectly with a block edge to climb up it...)
@@GaryRetroGamer Thanks for the tips! Tomb Raider 1 for Saturn is one of my top 5 favorite games of all time, and I am all-in on the beauty of that 'clunkyness'. I've definitely enjoyed the Lara Croft games on later handhelds (in some ways, more than some of the mainline TR games post-2000).
Special shoutouts to that game Warlocked. A real-time strategy game on the Game Boy Color? Highly unusual. Stop Skeletons From Fighting has a good video on it.
How odd, I was just looking up GBC yesterday. There's 22 here I have, 6 I want and 6 I have on other systems. Good show. I may try for Daikatana now as I didn't know the GBC one was good. Thnx
