Two days ago... you scheduling this so i get my brain fill every sunday evening? lol
I am a delivery driver(in Canada), and when we have to collect for customs, we can accept LITERALLY anything except cash. 😂
Shit dude seriously
You had smart phones as a child
We had a remote control car Atari and the mash get smash robot
Tired the site and unfortunately they don't do any shoes in my size 😢
Free delivery to AUS? Gimme a month...
Mr Vessi "Simon, can you go off script?" *rubs hands knowing that he'll get a 50 minute segment*
Mr Vessi in full Mrs Doyle: "No, I didn't like that one. Actually I was little disappointed with that one. That wasn't very good at all."
Simon: "yes, thank you, Mr Vessi".
A tangent masquerading as an ad. What do you call that, an adgent?
@@JeeVeeHaychcommercial digression
That sniff.....
😂
The edited in video stutter over Simon's "ITS 2024" outburst was perfection 🎉
I saw my opportunity and I took it. 😁
Came here to say the same thing
Amazing editing there!
I propose two Epic Blazes:
1 ) The Simpsons Predictions
2 ) We Didn't Start the Fire breakdown
2.i the original
2.ii the fall out boy one
@@LisasLabsI really love Fall Out Boy, but I feel they kinda missed the mark on this song. One of the things that make the original so incredibly epic is that Billy Joel managed to do everything chronologically. You know which decade is which. With the FOB version everything is just smushed together and may or may not even be that world changing in the grand scheme of things.
I like how this portrays three personalities; the writer, the editor, and the presenter.
The holy Trinity of good TH-cam
That's always how good things work, because 3 brains is better than one etc. There's too many channels made up by one brain and it shows.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Simon has the best editors on youtube.
He does have a talent for kidnapping the best people.
I mean glad to hear Simon got props from Vessi for his tangent. I wore them before he advertised them and loved them, but most people when I hear "Play Warthunder" or "Raid Shadowlegends!" They come off as super fake and its clear to me the person doesn't actually use the product. It makes me not trust what most people advertise. Simon's enthusiasm is so damn intense I'm like this is someone that legit gets the use out of them.
Sometimes the same words from two different channels...
I like the ads where different people on different channels pretend to play the same piece of game footage and read from the same exact script shouting out the same power ups in broken English.
Wait you are telling me those people don't play RAID!!!!111ONE SHADOW LEGEDNS? What about that tank one? You mean people are just going to shill for a company because they pay them money? Nah.. I couldn't name at least 5 different creators that do that..
11:13 the editing here deserves to be mentioned
I mean, how could I not? 😁
@@EveryFairyDiesyour editing rocks 🎉
@@Shopkeeper99900 Oh, you're too kind. 😁
Douglas Adams, is just brilliant, great life advice also, for example I use Zen Navigation on a daily basis and I always know where my towel is.
Damn, what a hoopy frood!
@@Natsirt666 voted the Worst Dressed Sentient Being in the Universe for the seventh time running!
The additional updated rule: always have access to an additional emergency towel.
I remember my first video call. I was deployed in 2002 and my squadron set up a video call to talk to the families back home. I talked to my parents for twenty minutes. At least I think I did. The video and audio were so poor I could have been talking to anyone. But it was still an awesome thing to see and I later found out the equipment to do it was bought by our Commander out of his own pocket.
Now I have multiple devices that would put the average Star Trek episode to shame.
17:48 Ever since Lorelei introduced the google gag, I've been waiting for this

Seeing Simon Simpsonized (say that five times fast) was awesome. 😂
It was a true labor of love I'm happy to see people enjoying!
I'm struggling to say it the once
Simon low key telling us he's been ripped off by the delivery man. 😂😂😂
Ah good to see Lorelie's edit, you could tell by her high effort and chaotic (in a good way) style. I haven't seen her editing in recent BB videos that I thought she escaped the basement. Good thing Simon caught her and still edits his videos.
Other pieces of fiction also predicted attacks on the World Trade Center. In the game Deus Ex the first level is on Liberty Island, the developers ran into issues with memory showing the full New York Skyline, so they took the World Trade Center out, adding in an in story explanation that they were destroyed in a terrorist attack, the game came out in June 2000. There was also a mission for the Genesis/SNES game Urban Strike were you need to rescue people from the WTC after the bad guy attacked it with a laser. Urban Strike is set in 2001.
In 1993 there was a car bomb attack on the towers, so a second attack wasn't out of the question. Rick Rescorla, the director of a financial service firm anticipated another attack so implemented evacuation procedures, which ended up saving most of the 2000+ employees during the attack. He was killed during the attacks trying to evacuate more people.
James Herbert's "The Fog" (1975) had an airliner deliberately flown into the BT Tower in London.
That Fed-Ex guy was definitely scamming you. I've heard and read multiple stories of delivery people trying to get people to pay for a delivery they had already paid for or was free to begin with. Someone tried to pull this on my aunt, who's daughter works for the police, so that situation was dealt with swiftly.
It’s referred to as C.O.D. Or cash on delivery. It used to be more common but now it’s pretty rare. It is a thing though.
That guy was from Germany, completly normal here.
@@MikeBovard this just sounds like a bad idea. The delivery companies should just setup a way to pay them online before delivery. If just to cut down on unless stops and tweakers holding up your drivers.
also customs and excise collected at point of delivery@@MikeBovard
except my example where its charged by your government mid delivery, when it goes over borders, and is collected by your government mandated postal delivery "company"@@KillroyWasHere86
One thing that is always so entertaining to me about Brain Blaze is that, unlike his other channels (mostly) he seems to take things so personally and expresses it with exaggerated frustration or annoyance.
I LOVE the Hitchhiker's guide movie. It's what got me into reading the books. Excellent cast
Same here.

I have a soft spot for the film. It was my introduction to Adams' work.
The BBC television series is better (even with the rather cheesy special effects) but then they had the benefit of not trying to compress a three book series into an hour and a half. 😁
100% It is easily the best live action depiction. @@loka7783
Lorelai brought the sass so hard, I thought it was Sam 😅
Lone gunmen was an incredible series. Well worth a watch.
It was never given a chance to grow. Fox had a problem canceling shows too soon. I rewatched it a little while ago and forgot how eerie the first episode was.
Firefly predicted GSKs $3b lawsuit. G-23 Paxilon Hydrochlorate = GSK Paroxetine Hydrochloride
its the PAXil
I think The Lone Gunman pilot was also a spin off from X Files. All those characters help Mulder in a handful of episodes.
Yes, it was an X-Files spinoff@@TitanicTortise
17:54 "I'm not your Google Slave." 😂😂😂
Lorelei's the best!
(Ex aequo with Sam, of course, although he's slowly getting dethroned!)
Sam will always be King, but he is magnanimous ruler who allows Julian and I our own protectorates.
Haven’t watched it just yet, but I imagine you could do an entire separate SERIES on things The Simpsons has predicted. 😂
He has and did a couple years ago, lol
Could also do a 24hr stream of Vessi ads if you watch 4 or more vids with ads
This is why ppl who are idea bankrupt match with ppl like me who have zero TH-cam memories
Insert back to the future "I've seen this one before" meme
I think he did
As he has ✌ 😂
In 1968, the TV show "Laugh-In" had a "news from twenty years in the future" skit that referred to "President Ronald Reagan." Reagan, of course, actually was President in 1988.
The same year that Tom Lehrer also predicted Reagan's presidency - that produced huge guffaws from his audience, specially when he added the line "At last we'll have a president who can really sing and dance"
dude, call fedex and confirm the charge, it sounds like the delivery guy is scamming you.
I agree. I always pay the customs on the FedEx website
Yeah that sounds mad sketchy
Nope. FedEx has already paid the duties and taxes charged on the pkg. to get it out of possession of customs and bring it to your door. You now have to reimburse FedEx by paying the driver or paying in advance on the website (not sure why driver would not take credit card - card reader not working?) Or you can refuse it and it goes back to the sender.
@@brucefreadrich1188UPS doesn't handle cash. We only take checks or money orders. We are not supposed to accept cash whatsoever
Never in my few years of working at FedEx have we ever taken cash. I promise we did not provide card readers, but never cash.
Boss of vessi “we love it when you go off the rails”
Simon “say no more”
Simon proceeds to make the rails disappear
It isn't just that lots of stuff is written so some comes true. But many of these writers do research so it isn't just guessing, they are educated guesses, much more likely to come true. And on top of that, in many cases, people read these stories, then actively try to recreate the future in them. Be it tech or whatever else.
So glad that you talked about The Lone Gunmen episode "Pilot" and its eerily prescient storyline about a hijacked commercial jetliner being flown into the World Trade Center twin towers! There is one significant difference between this episode and the real events of September the 11th that many conspiracy theorists overlook, however: the jetliner in The Lone Gunmen was being remote-controlled by hackers, while the jetliners flown into the towers in the real world were piloted by kamikaze pilots.
Simons ad reads are the only ones i dont skip over bc its just more content when he goes off script
Going through a torrid time personally, your videos provide some much needed respite. Thank you, Simon et al.
I remember the band Dream Theater, for the release “Live Scenes From New York” with album art of a big apple on fire...due for release September 11th 2001.
It was pretty quickly withdrawn.
Oh shit, I completely forgot about that!
and the Coup's cover for "Party Music." Originally due to be released September 2001, album art shows the WTC on fire.
@@chrisamies2141Yeah the Coup wins this one.
19:55 - Fun fact. The principles being discussed here, is also why we don't use things like MAGLEV, rail guns or linear induction to propel a human occupied craft into space. The technology exists to propel an object into space using these technologies, but in order to reach escape velocity at an acceleration that a human can survive (roughly 6 sustained Gs for 2 minutes), the track would need to be about 315 miles long. By comparison, astronauts experience 3 sustained Gs during a traditional launch.
I absolutely loved the editing. Keep it up.
Thank you, and I intend to!
Smart move by the Vessi boss. Honestly, Simon's anecdotes sold me on a pair. And I love them. Well done Blaze Boi. That big biz brain is working.
I got to say I bought a pair of Vessi because of Simon and I love them. Even though I've walked in a field of snow in shoes entirely inappropriate for the task zero snow in my Vessis and dry socks.
How are they for warmth. I’d love to get some, but I worry I won’t get enough use out of them since I live in Minnesota and winter can get really cold.
We need a deep dive of the brilliant writing of the Simpsons as well as a separate video about all the Simpsons predictions please and thank you.

I liked the movie "The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy" knowing nothing about the book or TV show. I believe Mos Def is extremely talented. I can see how you'd be disappointed knowing the original story but doesn't that almost always seem to be the case.
Hitchhikers' guide to the Galaxy is an amazing movie.. critic's be damned!!
I just loved the two Simpsonified characters of Simon and Dave. Dave is just vastly superior to Simon there though. But he gave me the bus drivers vibes though. 15:30 was a nice insert too.
Dave was easy enough to Simpsonize. Simon was an absolute pain, so I appreciate you mentioning it!
You did cover the book that supposedly predicted the Titanic on DTU - as I recall, the book was published before the sinking, but with far fewer similarities to the actual event. Most of those were added in a later reprint, after the Titanic had sunk.
The broad strokes were the same. The re-edit just matched the details too because money and trolling
Enterprise was great 👍
20:40 Douglas Adams is not a science fiction writer, he was a science fantasy writer.
Arthur Dent is Dorothy Gale. Fill out from there.
@EveryFairyDies you made me lol at 6:23. I so needed it after a shitty day, thank you!
10:16 I’ve never seen Simon more excited about anything 😂
The Simpsons never predicted anything. They made absurd jokes that came true because our world is ridiculous.
I wrote a song called “Osama Bin Laden” in 1998 after the 1998 USS Cole Bombing. Being from Washington DC, the chorus went:
“You’re Jihad means nothing to me-
I hope you don’t kill my family in DC-
You really should know better than to attack the USA-
You may have lots of money but we have more my a long way”
Ended up performing this song at my going away party the afternoon before I was to fly to Europe to go backpacking. That party was 9/10/2001 and my flight out of Reagan International airport the following morning.
Suffice it to say my flight was delayed, and my friends and I are still baffled that this stupid song existed in the first place. 😮
You might also wish to read “When the Sleeper Wakes” by H. G. Wells. It predicts the VCR (which amusingly gets jammed), the iPod and huge megachurches.
Simon you really need to give Deep Space 9 a fair chance. It has a lot of great characters & engaging stories
Past Tense is crazy accurate. Lets hope it doesn't get more accurate
hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy is great and the movie is great too no matter what you say, i love that movie 😁
It’s always funny to me when Simon talks about Snowden. Most Black Americans, pre-Snowden believed that the government spied on people, (because the government spied on them) and were called crazy for doing so, but it still came as such a shock to everybody else and the rest of the world.
Someone who writes "Crazy technologies predicted by Star Trek" woul have my everlasting gratitude. Please Make Simon nerd out like no man has gone before!

11:55 - Chapter 3 - The pilot episode of the lone gunmen predicted the 11/9 attack
14:45 - Chapter 4 - Morgan robertson wrote a piece of fiction that was eerily similar to the story of the titanic
16:55 - Chapter 5 - Chester gould gave his character a smartwatch in the 1940's
19:10 - Chapter 6 - French novelist jules verne predicted the moon landing with surprising accuracy
20:35 - Chapter 7 - Douglas adams predicted the kindle
The Douglas Adams references is the continent I'm here for and I don't care what anybody says I like the movie. Douglas Adams approved the the script and the changes to the story before he passed away
Enterprise is awesome. ITS BEEN A LONG TIME GETTIN FROM THERE TO HERE!
Bluey is a surprisingly good show. They tackle grown up stories in a child friendly way, it's an enjoyable show and even though almost all the episodes have some kind of "message" they don't beat you over the head with it the way some kids shows do.
After that Vessi segment I could totally imagine him being in one of those long infomercials that would be on repeat on the only TV channel back in the day when you were off school sick
Yo the editor needs a raise, you're just enriching what's already an entertaining video.
I would like to add John Brunner's 1968 novel "Stand on Zanzibar" as a slightly more obscure example of fiction predicting reality. It included wearable technology, a drug like Viagra, the legalisation of both same-sex marriage and cannabis, video calls, a single European currency and electronic music.
It also had a character called president Obomi, which is pretty close.
Seriously, you have gotten me to buy SO many things and Vessi is going to be next! As always, excellent content (I've followed many of your channels for years), and thank you for sharing!
I absolutely love my kindle ebook reader. I hate reading on a normal tablet, but the e-ink technology is awesome. It’s like reading a normal book, but I can change the font and text size. I can borrow books instantly from my library, and I can carry hundreds of books wherever I go. I get wanting the physical feel of turning pages, but the ability to increase text size is getting more and more important to me. Ironically, I still need to read The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.”
I used your Vessi Code for Christmas last year, my stormburst are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.

That was a minimum of 5 separate tangents just within the sponsorship. Simply amazing!
Oh my great spaghetti god. Simon can you start doing audio book channel with rants, and a channel of the video from the first with the rants edited out?

South Park predicted Taylor Swift fans becoming NFL fans.
In episode 8 s21 the special ed class holds a science fair that Jimmy is testing water bears and they respond to Taylor Swift. A group of men come in to help and we later find out its the NFL trying to get more fans and viewers.
I always enjoy the videos. You guys should make one about the Sankebetsu Brown Bear Incident on Decoding the Unknown.

Voyager is by far my favourite. Phenomenal character development.
Thank you yes!! And Janeway as the strong female captain is just peak perfection. I was in my tweens when it came out, and I distinctly remember being awed by a female lead in a sci-fi show. And I rewatched it last year, it holds up! ❤

18:01 The way Sinon pronounces Chester Gould sounds so much like he's saying *Chesticle!*
17:30 my first mobile was in 1992 and text didn't exist let alone online connection..... I was about 25 at the time.
Lol I think H G Wells would be considered the greatest sci-fi writer ahead of Douglas Adams. In fact, there would be other names in between them, like Ray Bradbury & Arthur C Clarke (who predicted satellites btw)
For anyone wondering, Compaq was purchased by HP. I don't know if many computers are still sold under the name, but if you see one made in the last 20 years or so, it's actually an HP machine that just has different branding. I believe the Compaq name is still used outside the US, but I haven't seen one on store shelves here for a while.
The man commits to the sale , Snift that Shoe like it was nothing at all. Well Done
Edit and The Wall- E Life Simon wants pleases me .
I thought he severely understated "The Machine Stops." There's more to it than videoscreens. Characters becoming shut-ins who are paranoid about going outside, lots of information but no actual knowledge, and so on.
WHO HAS THE BEEF WITH ENTERPRISE?!? Don't you ever question Captain Quantum Leap!
Growing up, I learned about and told my friend that the government was able to record everyone's conversations and store them for later listening for a period of time longer than zero. Like a day or so. He said that would be impossible because it would require too much storage. A few years later they came out with voice mail.
I have 3 pairs of vessis and the gloves. The storm burst are my favorite, but they all kick ass
My friend in high school’s dad worked at Compaq back in the 90s/early 2000s. There was a merger with HP. The company claimed Compaq was low on sales, but her dad told us it involved the Enron scandal.
💯% Simon is getting a call from Vessi "just to I form you you can actually wear our shoes to weddings"
Simon im all for your tangents and you want to live in a room and either lecture us (im happy with that) or listen to lectures, but I work so i need a pub after it so I can drown my sorrows.
We are not quite at Orwell.
But we are very close to V for vendetta 😳
I appreciate Simons love of Bluey.
Since Simon has taken on some new editors, I've started trying to guess who the editor of a video is based on their editing style and meme aptitude. I could tell right away this was a Lorelei video and got excited.
You could do another one of these just using Star Trek. The flip phone, iPad, streaming audio (one guy at Apple saw an episode where Data pulled up several audio files that played instantly) . He liked the idea so much that he created QuickTime.
I have to disagree with Dave about Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, as much as the film has some issues. It does a very good job at following the book extremely closely.
I say this having watched it and read the trilogy in five parts recently.
Let's try to get Simon's next video up to over 20k likes the views shouldn't be higher than the likes show your love guys 😁
Voyager and Enterprise were the my favs too.😊
