Thanks for this. I've only just come across your review on this fantastic car. I was fortunate enough to pick up a silver with coral red 2017 convertible late June and just clocked its first 2000km. Been better than what I'd hoped for and I can't stop smiling each time I drive it. An accomplished cruiser, an absolute weapon when pressing on in the twisty bits and looks that are even better in the flesh. Totally agree with you that BMW couldn't offer blind-spot monitoring, even as an option, is a shameful decision for a car costing on-road $90-$100K and especially given that it's rear visibility is compromised by the soft-top's small rear window and wide C-pillars.
M240i is one of my dream cars, and the convertible version looks like a lot of fun. A shame they have discontinued the convertible for the newest generation. Also no manual gearbox available anymore for the M240i. Only the basic 220i and probably the new M2 will have the manual option. xDrive appears standard on the new M240i which is interesting, as RHD markets (such as the UK that I'm in) couldn't get xDrive on the first generation. RWD will certainly be available for the M2 but may be limited to certain markets for the M240i. I'd actually prefer xDrive if it has the same RWD/drift mode option as the M5 so you get the best of both worlds - all weather grip but drifting fun when you want it. Of course M2 would remain RWD for the perfect balance and lower weight. But that's why I'd go for the M240i over an M2 - I'd rather something that would be fun and enjoyable to drive every day, but still with a decent level of comfort over a track weapon. Although if I could afford it I would certainly get a manual M2 for track fun and another car for enjoyable daily driving. It's annoying that pretty much every single car company is taking away options and limiting model choices. Recently read that Mercedes have discontinued a number of their convertibles and coupes - including the S Class coupe & convertible. At least there is the used market, which my budget is closer too anyway! But it's a shame to see all sorts of cool and interesting car variants and enthusiast options disappearing.
But we have 5% tariffs and luxury car tax 33% . Also our list price is with taxes , not like Usa where destination charge $1000 ' 7% gts isn't mentioned on your list price in Usa , so price difference in our countries will be a huge gap
Great video and good to see a change in the type of vehicles you are doing. One thing to point out is that you said "250nm" instead of "250kw" in the video just letting you know! :)
+Dasindu Amarathunge Cheers! All the great support on here means it's possible to keep broadening the cars we drive. Thanks for pointing that out, every so often you'll make an unintended error. Just a slip of the tongue.
Awesome review! Thanks for your effort. By the way: Your car does not represent the 2017 facelift of the 2 series, does it? Nice scenery where you are driving around! What's the name of the city?
No, this isn't a 2 Series LCI. By the time that car reaches Australia it'll be a 2018 BMW 2 Series. Thanks for your feedback - this was all filmed around the lower north shore of Sydney.
because Usa doesn't have luxury car tax 33% this funds free health , then there is 5% traiffs adds $10000 to the price , we also have higher gst 10% which is on list price , not like Usa taxes isn't mentioned on list price
Something a little more interesting to break up the onslaught of mid-size SUV reviews - enjoy.
OMG thank you soo much for listening to me👌👍😁
And once again a great review
You're welcome. I try to take all the feedback we get on board. Glad you enjoyed it!
By the way do you think you will do a review on a ute one day because utes is another segment that is growing
+Johnathan Lynn Yep, there is additional Amarok and Navara content on the horizon.

I had a 2010 235i and traded it in for a 2018 M240i. I LOVE IT! I love the sound of the car in sport mode. 🚀
That's great, Tonya! Glad you're enjoying the car!
How could you have a 2010 2-series? These cars went into production in 2014.
You didn't mention that the top goes down or up while driving up to 25 mph! Very convenient!
Good point, Steve. Very convenient indeed!
great review thanks for posting this!
No problem!

I drove this at 245kmh with top down, it's not a bad car, but the mini roadster is more fun
does it exist also with folding back seats?
can put 26"or 28"suitcase into the trunk?or just 20 can
Very good review - and I agree a beautiful car and colour combination. Now i want one
Thanks a lot. Yeah, this is a great colour set.
$81,000 AUS dollars is $61,000 US dollars. I think similar US model is $53,500 US dollars.

Philosophin the few minor changes no one really notices are on the 2018 model
This reviewer is not a car guy. No car guy would be whining about the lack of AEB.
Its a shame they didn't do a hard top version of the convertible like the 4 series.
Quality content. Thank you. I wish I had that car :(
Thanks Mohammad. It's pretty cool!

just needs a manual transmission
Which you can get for the same price!
BMW tells me I can’t get this in a manual transmission cabriolet 😕
