Obviously there's a strong case for Flores doing more with less than any other coach this year. However, the only coach of the year with a losing record was: 1990 - Jimmy Johnson - Dallas Cowboys at 7-9. It would take a lot for a 5-11 coach to win it. Also the Dolphins were 7-9 last year and you probably don't get coach of the year if your team gets worse, even if this was Flores' first season with the Dolphins. If Flores gets Miami to the playoffs next year then he may be in the running for having led the turnaround.

I’m not an expert, but here’s my take. Receivers were trash, dropping passes that should have been caught like it’s their full time job. Tom Brady was not consistent throughout the game, made some good throws, but that pick 6 really shouldn’t had happened. Almost NO adjustments was made by Bill or anyone. So I think instead of blaming it on ONE person, blame the WHOLE team. No one played well, and I think the player of the game for the Patriots is the freaking punter.
