This was the final game of the season with huge implications, played at home before the faithful. For all intent and purpose, this was a playoff game. Look at what it did for Kansas City. KC gets a huge break and a huge advantage that their wrinkle back a few months ago almost did not afford them. But, in true Bill Bellichick fashion, easy or hard, they will play the Titans one play at a time and that is the Bellichick magic. But do they have enough this year and how deep will they go into the playoffs? Other teams have copied the Patriot winning formula. This year, they don't carry that aura of invincibility but rather the aura of a wounded lion who is still a lion and always dangerous.

I was there yesterday. I agree with every point. Fans were booing at the end of the first half. Offense and defense collectively looked flat. Special teams were good in the kicking game. That was about it. Gilmore had his worst game. TB12 threw a pick-6 forcing the ball to Jules (which took forever in the air) when he had Michel wide open with room to run. Honestly I felt after that game like they should just let the players rest this week. Can't get much worse - they just looked banged up and defeated all game.

It can't be that much of an upset when these guys are trashing the Patriots every week saying how they aren't good. Clearly they should of won the game, but the Dolphins play hard and the Pats were favored by way too much anyway. They haven't played good enough to be big favorites against anyone. Doesn't even matter if they're at home.
But to call them out every week and say how bad they are and then act like this is THAT big of an upset is a huge contradiction. Not like they don't do that all the time on this show anyway though.

The Dolphins were 5-4 in the second half plus 1 of the season. They beat the Pats, Eagles, Jets, Colts, and Bengals. In those nine games they scored more than 20 points in all but one and won the game they scored 16 on. They were a decent team after being horrible for the first seven games. How NE (already being castigated for being over the hill) got that 17 point spread is beyond me. NE had an extremely soft schedule and lost to Ravens, Chiefs, Texans and Dolphins while barely beating the Cowboys and Eagles and were 4-3 in their last seven going into the Dolphins game.

But we went through more players than any team during a season to find the Nik Needhams of the football world. That effort, plus the FA moves, plus the draft will combine to make a titanic shift in the Dolphin's fortunes and move them out of mediocrity.

The record between the two teams this century is 25-15 in favor of the Patriots. That might seem pretty good.....but remember that time frame is the Patriots dynasty. The period where, overall, they have been the best team in football & won 6 Superbowls. The Dolphins have been in less playoff games than the Patriots have Superbowl victories. 5 playoff games total. Dolphins record 1-4. 2 of those games were in 2000. Including the only win [OT vs the Colts].
My point is that considering that huge disparity in team quality.....I think 25-15 translates to about dead even. The Dolphins play the Patriots tough. It really is a rivalry game.

What makes the Titans so dangerous is the fact that they have a VERY good wide receiver in AJ Brown, likely the Rookie Of The Year, but most of all, the Titans can DOMINATE the time of possession with Derrick Henry, and the Patriots have not been great at stopping the run. The Titans can run it down the Patriots' throats it looks like, and dominate the time of possession, which means few turnovers and the Patriots have to make their possessions count, which they have struggled to do this year.
