Clever thinking to switch around the access to struts that way. Heaps better than having to go through the tub and ruin all your hard work. Love the way you work through all the tricky bits that pop up and get it sorted. Keep smashing it!!
One of the issues is a normal tailgate doesn’t have a rear bumper to contend with so most normal hinges don’t work sadly. I’ll still have a look into them and see if it’s something I can modify
Sounds like you might need something where the tailgate doesn’t actually open flat, but platforms slightly… Which I don’t think really exists on an OEM car because that would be awful for loading cargo.
The tail gate will definitely be flat, I have to be able to sit of it and have a beer. I’ve already got a couple of solutions that you’ll get to see in a future episode
@@blacknightcreations navaras come with and without bumpers depending how loaded the car was spec'ed the hinge is stepped into itself and buts up close to the tailgate outer skin if you can look at a tailgate on a navara you will get a good idea if it will work on your car 2011 to 2018 cheers glenn
That’s fair, I load it up later Friday to try and get the American crowd but I may tinker with that in the next couple of episodes. Thanks for coming onboard with patreon as well!
Hi Lewis. Ive been following your build all they way from South Africa. Great work so far. I have a question for workshop Lewis. Will you be refinishing the underbody of the car when done. I saw when you did the fueltank pipe that it doesnt look good under there. Hopefully it will also get redone when bodywork start. Keep up the good work. Your skills really grew alot from when you started. Well done keep it up.
Is it for sale? Everything has a price but my sale price is going to be incredibly high given the amount I’ve spent on it and how many hours I’ve put in.

Yeah I’ll definitely clean up the underbody of the car and respray, I have to get the engineering done before I worry about the underbody though
Also thanks for the kind words!
