Surya didn't planned to kill his mom and dad. He knew that his mom and dad will be killed by his party members. He could have saved them by taking them with him or putting them in safe place, which he didn't. So he didn't killed his parents. The thing is he didn't wished to save them❗️💯

Agree with BR here. The subtext cannot be the substance. NGK reminds me of Get Out, in a not so good way. Get Out was a straight forward story to follow but it also had many delicious layers of satire and social commentary about racism and slavery. However, you can watch the movie oblivious to all these undercurrents and still come out entertained and satisfied. With NGK, the decoding seems to be an attempt to revise history and put lipstick on a pig. It still stinks!

Selva is so clear on what he did...It's just people's mind how you perceive this beautiful piece of cake...

My perception about the movie is, it has both versions of Surya in one person. When d audience thinks him as gud, he fits in der. If dey think, he is bad, he fits in der too. He says a dialog, indha edathuku naan kuduthadhu en life nu. Apo surya va nallavara paakum podhu, it means he lost his parents for dis. In negative angle, it means, he killed his own parents for dis. It doesnt give many layers. It gives both d vibes in one role NGK. Even in the stage scene, he changes aggressive, he calls dat person wid name, but he also says namma thaniya irundha ok, mathavanga munnadi nalla irukadhunu. Still he hold his positive things wid him. Each and every shot of Surya is made to fit in both villain and hero role. If we think he had relationship wid vanathi, it fits, if we think no, it gives dat meaning too. Selva sir, u r d real genius.

For ppl here commenting that this film is a masterpiece/selva is a genius/it's just these two ppl who don't understand the movie, can u ppl honestly say when u come out from the theatre, did u really accurately understand every single thing in the movie? All the theories we managed to find out after decoding for a few days may be correct or may actually be wrong. It's kind of obvious that NGK killed his parents at the end which was of course hidden and I think that part was really hats off. But the part where the friend gets killed, ppl are stating that it's actually Surya killing his friend but tweaks the story in front of media. That could be possible given his character is designed like that. But who actually knows, whatever Suriya says abt how his friend gor killed could be true. I hope i did not forget any additional details, but I don't see why it shld not be true. I agree with Baradwaj in the sense that if u are supposed to decode a few things in the movie, yes that is intelligent of a filmmaker, but if u are supposed to decode a lot of things in a movie, that just means the story is not conveyed properly. And there are so many things in the movie which leaves us puzzled. Yes I know, Selva is regarded as a genius filmmaker, and that is why ppl disagree that the film is not up to the mark and they come up with many theories to convince that Selva is a genius filmmaker and his films can't be bad.
Selva is indicating us to decode politics happening in real life with the help of this film.
