- This is a show I've previously uploaded on the channel. I've cleaned up the video a bit, and added a lower-gen copy of the audio (still from the same taper source), so the overall quality and presentation of this show has been improved. It sees Queensrÿche playing in Buffalo, New York during their Mindcrime tour, still supporting Metallica. As evidenced by the video, Queensrÿche has gotten really popular, with fans bringing huge banners to the concerts and providing a great enthusiastic atmosphere.
The show is complete, but the video and audio quality isn't the best. If the master tape was to be transferred/shared one day, that would look and sound a lot better! But for now, this is just fine :)
The entire performance is strong, and the atmosphere is great as the audience soaks it all up. Overall a great show, enjoy!
As bad ass as Metallica was at this point I really bet they thought “we HAVE to play tight every night because Queensryche will be” As a touring drummer I can tell you have this type of healthy competition on a tour package can bring the best out in you.
Drummer McVey
Yes!!!
100% ! No offense to Lars.. but I saw this tour when they opened for Metallica. And Scott Rockenfield just BLEW Lars off the stage. No competition! He was a BEAST ! His power and pocket and timing was just like needle perfect. Most underrated drummer ever !!
I saw them open for Def Leppard in September of 88. They were amazing to watch as a 10 year old 🤘🤘🤘
If this was a weird lip sync thing it couldn’t sound better. They were incredible. Chris’s high harmony is money
I remember watching them in 88 and 89. Unmatched vocalist.
Geoff fucking Tate!!! he was beyond amazing he could hit every note
A different kind of AWESOME. Boy I certainly miss those days.
Queensryche at their zenith.
Discrimination is not a right. geoff's singing in the hear in the new frontier is really good
Fabulous 5 man I miss them live !
I know all the guys are great, but Tate here is at the peak. Incredible. No shirking the notes like he would 2 years later.
Well, he sounds kinda flat throughout the show, but despite that this is a GREAT performance.
I'd say his peak was at 1985/1986 but as I said, still a great performance, and this one is my favourite version of "Eyes of a Stranger" , he really nails it.
@@benitokamelo252 Yeah I absolutely agree, 85-86 is Tate's peak, without any doubt.
for me, this band is at its peak in 1989, even if they didn't release so big anything else after Operation Mindcrime came out they showed they were the best!
Chris DeGarmo took it all with him when he left...so sad.
Well The band recorded one shit album with Chris (hear in…)so…Chris is also a man.It doesn’t mean that if he had stayed they would have released good albums
Cannibal Corpse was at this show promoting their first show ever that was a week later after this 🤘🏻
Cannibal corpse is not music this is music
@@brycestanley1733 they are now compared to this shit they call music nowadays
I saw this tour in Fort Myers. As good as QR was, when Metallica came on and was on another level because they had headliner status and blew the roof of the place. This is the way it was in the 80's. Opening bands got like 5 feet of stage room.
Geoff Tate
Mode : God
Serious question , Halford in 89 vs Tate in 89 , who would win ?
Who were they opening for that show
They opened for Metallica.
What witchery is this?? Geoff here is BETTER than the album!
Man so sad they ended up in bad terms. Power corrupts?
Ego and commercial success perniciously impacts on the art form and the soul of the artist.
