I think it was really a combination, but honestly just the fine “snow” from JTT was pretty nice to finish. Wish I could find a way to make it stick better without flooding with glue.
Great to have you back on the ol' crafting horse! Look at that beautiful yard you have now!. So cool. I love the way that you made the indentions in the sofa cushions, very effective. Man, your wallpapering technique and the weathering and stains on it is out of this world. I also love the fabric pleating on the curtains. Cheers man, excellent work and beautiful final shots!
I am so happy you are back... I have been checking your channel every now and then to make sure I hadn't missed an upload. I am also glad to hear you were gone for such a great reason and now will have more room for your abandoned scenes! I really love how everything came out and I know your client will be over the moon with it! I also did snow for the first time this month and it was so fun! Welcome back!
You have been sorely missed brother. Glad all is ok and you have a dedicated home and studio space to really hunker down and do what you love. I don't know a particular scene, but what might be an interesting challenge (if you haven't tried) would be a scene that incorporates either old machinery or aged/abandoned vehicles. There is a lot of great detail between upholstery aging, the glass windows, paintjob wear and rust and the elements and plants weaving through over time. Plus with machinery or a more industrial setting, you could both create a 'history' for the scene and get creativre with queue's for some environmental storytelling. This piece got me thinking about that since you get a little of it with you weighing down the cushions on the sofa and carefully figuring out how the snowfall would worm and reside over time. Love your work and seeing all these new tools and techniques. You rock holmes.
I love all your work, but the projects that really resonate with me are like this one- miniature versions of real life scenes/pictures. Also- I'd love to see what kind of builds YOU come up with, out of your mind's eye. That would be very interesting I think, looking at your past work. Keep up the great work!
awesome as always ,you should try to weather your "frabic" with warm water and tea bag ,makes some great stains and effects trouble free ,i am using it a lot when i am making sails for my ships !
Man, it’s great to see you excited and inspired about this work again. Always love your channel but you can really feel the renewed energy in this video, even before you mentioned it. Keep up the great work, man!
Hi Nick, I love the way you did the snow on the floor, it reminds me of the film Dr Zhivago when the beautiful old house gets filled with snow drifts. I would love to see you do more abandoned Medieval/Gothic miniatures. The bedroom you made was awesome. Love from Amanda Jones in Australia
Awesome to have you back. Congrats on the new house and studio. I love how this turned out. It was very true to the photo you showed at the beginning. I'd be really surprised if the person who commissioned it wasn't pleased.
I'm so happy to see you crafting again! Congratulations on your new house! We really missed you. Hope to see more projects whenever you have the time. 🤩
love your work man. Very inspiring and the atmosphere behind your shots are absolutely incredible, not to mention your modeling skills. Great piece and happy to hear you're eager to get back to modeling again after the big move. Hope you really enjoy the new space moving forward!
Congratulations on your new home. Space is the one thing we artists never seem to have enough of. Every few weeks I have to go through a purge. Love this project. Something about the rocking horse makes it so nostalgic. Beautiful!
good to see you back in creating your awesome miniatures. Moving is always an exhausting experience that takes more time than anyone involved anticipates. This is again one impressive, very atmospheric and moody piece of Art!
Scale is tricky with snow. Getting it to read right to the eye in scale is almost as difficult as water, when the water effect isn't static, that is. Nice model, as always.
I'd like to see you do the restroom from the first SAW movie. :) Excellent video. Congratulations to you and your wife on the purchase of your new home!
@Abandoned Miniatures I honestly don't know how in the world I missed that one! I thought I'd seen every single one of them. Off I go now to watch it. Cheers!
What an amazing replica..love it🥰👏👏👏 The receiver of this gift is going to be so surprised! I totally get what you mean about the feelings of an abandoned place..I will also get those feelings just by driving by what use to be or looking at a picture. It must of been hard to be away from your creativity..So thank you so much for coming back and sharing this amazing miniature vision!🤗
I'm glad I turned notifications on, otherwise I might've missed your newest video. This looks great! I can imagine snow is difficult to recreate in miniature. Congratulations on the house, that's so exciting!
i do urban exploration and I love this. Its a pretty good representation of the decay and how things get dirty and shitty. My only comment is about the snow. You used a brush so there's some hard edges where the snow stops. What I would suggest is do use some spray glue or possibly drops of elmers or crazy glue so you can get more of a random feel. Also to build up like drifts I would lay down some hot glue. then after it hardens hit it with some spray glue or brush it on and the hit it with the snow powder. That would give you some height, as well as that randomness you want with snow. I say all this with love and not as criticism. Its really cool, I didnt even know this was a thing!!
Welcome back can’t wait too see what you have installed for us. Also would love too see you do a broken down spaceship maybe something like the alien movies. And also something from lord of the rings would be interesting too.
As a photographer who have taken many abandoned photos- how about holding contest? Ask for images, pick your favorite. Build it, award it to the person who took the image? Thank you.
Nice work as always !! Just a tip for the snow : You should prefer baking soda (the finest you can find) because as you usually film at very close range, flock appears to be a bit outsized. I personally use BS for my snowy landscapes (1/72 scale) and it matches perfectly, even at close range !! By the way, another great diorama...:-).
I really love your art. Great stuff and pretty awesome ideas to get the effects just right. Though I have to say that the areas of snow have a bit too fuzzy edges for my taste. Thought that especially the area in the front on 12:45 looks imao a bit better than the final version. This project kinda reminded me of the end of the shinning. like how the overlook hotel might could look like after a couple of month after the showdown.
Nice to see you again! Theres an old BBC tv play from the 70s called The Stone Tape on TH-cam. It's about a tech company that discovers an old house that keeps "replaying" a traumatic event as if it is recorded in the very stones of the building. The set would make for a cool diorama. It's fairly simple, but theres a staircase that goes to nowhere and a high up window as if for an upper floor that no longer exists. With the right lighting, it would look very nice.
@@AbandonedMiniatures its very "of its time". make sure it's the tv version, not the modern radio play if you look it up. 1972 I think but it's a great story and classic sci fi \ horror. And the setting is great
This is AMAZING! I think If would do one for Christmas, Kind like the same as what you just did but from LONG AGO.. Ya know BACK IN THE DAY? So to speak! I Love the Snow as well, Maybe an Open window of and Old House/Room abandon with snow blowing in .. You Are so INSPIRING! This is Wonderful!!! Saved it!!!

Funny, the curtains caught my eye as well. As I was processing the scene, my silly mind decided that the event here, while abandoned, was recent. Something happened abruptly here. Reminiscent of The Shining.
Welcome back, loved this project. Bentley House mins recently did a project on the shining. I think horror movie sets but abandoned would look so cool.
Love the channel, great to see you back but of course you're right, you absolutely have to take time off from time to time. Don't know if's a good suggestion for the channel, It's not exactly abandoned but, if you like the idea of recreating Johnny Depp's room from the original Nightmare on Elm, with or without the blood it'd be awesome. If not I'll love what ever you choose to do. Keep it up. Great stuff.
Maybe more project inspired by The last of us ? But what you’re creating is already so nice, the vibe and lightings are very powerful. We can really feel the place, the environment and all the things that could happened there
