- Hi, we are Harriet and Mauro and in February 2021 we bought an abandoned smallholding in Castellón, Spain. In these videos we shar e our life as we restore and improve our little stone house, learn to grow and preserve our own food, and bring our 4 acres of farmland back to productivity.

Cuánto esfuerzo y trabajo en la finca! mi abuela vivía también en el campo en Mendoza, Argentina con sus 5hijos,con menos comodidades tecnológicas claro, pero ver cómo haces con Santi me recordó lo q ella me contaba que hacía todas las tareas con sus bebes alzados,y tenía que llevar el desayuno alas 10 a mi abuelo q estaba desde la madrugada arando .me alegro mucho que haya salido bien la operación.hoy 1de mayo les deseo un feliz día del trabajador . Hello you lovely people, good to hear that the little man is recovering so fast! I'm looking forward see you building the new chicken coop #run, by the way 2 things chicken should not eat is citrus fruits and onions but the good news is that animals when food is plentiful know what not to eat! What is very healthy for them as for us humans are elderberries in fresh so as dried form and when I have I put the leafs and wood cutting/ ships into the run as all my woodships as the chickens benefit so as the soil in run and they make fantastic compost of it. God bless you guy's have a nice summer and plenty of water!
I thought elderberries had poison when fresh. Don't they need to be dried or cooked?
Some varieties yes they do for us humans or dried for teas but not for chickens
Be well and safe family, your home and property is really coming along great with all your hard work and sticking to your yearly commitment to clean your different areas around the home and to complete certain tasks before starting others. Santiago is so precious and is quite a happy baby, glad your mom got to visit also ❤

I am surprised how much Harriet does on the homestead without wearing gloves. Lightweight leather or cloth gloves are essential for many good reasons.
Yeah, it's true, it's usually because my gloves are wet or misplaced

You could probably dry the fruit to use later on in the winter.
Very glad all went well with surgery with lil santi / you two did a great job getting the property ready prior to leaving the planting table came out great I made mine out of an old barbecue grill took the lid off and put wood on top works ok for my small garden my back yard is filled with fruit trees and flowers it’s my favorite place to be 😊
