I enjoy watching your videos Dan 👍 and you are right on the paper work they've gotten on to me a couple times for missing pages or it wasn't signed I'm a new owner operator on the dry van side and really want to switch over to the flatbed side but I can't afford $4,800 to switch over the dry van rates are low and I'm struggling not to go under 😉✌️💪✝️🚛💨🗽🦅🇺🇸
Hey Dan: Not sure what brand of filters you installed but you can buy a Baldwin filter that is a replacement for your stock one, use a punch or drill and put a 1/2 inch hole in the plate end, and save yourself about 50 bucks a side. My Peterbilt dealer sells me the cheaper ones so you should have no trouble getting the part number. Then again, maybe that's what you did already. Travel safely.
Dan, You're the Pro, but I've always been taught that "one of three" means ONE. As a teacher, now retired, if I wanted my students to turn in a three page report I tried to make sure they understood I was expecting 3 pages. You are the Pro and I am guessing you have heard oral and written requests that "bounce" all over the expectation spectrum. Enjoying your Vlogs. P..S. Awhile back you mentioned that Sheila was not feeling well. Hope she is doing much better now.
I have to blow out my air filter every week. I haul mulch and it clogs my air filter. I give you credit for all the videos you make. Your helping a lot of o/o keep there costs down. Hi Bailey!
Your air filters are a little easier to do as my motorhome I have to do half of my air filter from the back of the coach and the other half I have to empty my closet and do it from up above. Which I’m going to do tomorrow. Thanks for the video.
I have had my owns truck since 1976. Always change my own oil and filters. Have never had anyone in all them years change my oil. Heard to many horror stories. Was never gone more than two weeks at a time. Only gone no more than three days now. . I do have a shop. Do my own brakes wheel seals tires. Etc. good video Dan. Met you in Louisville at the truck show. Nice gentleman to talk to. Not a big wind bag like some truckers. Best of luck.
Hey Dan. You truckers have to be up on everything with a 🚛. No matter how big or small. It could cost a few 💵 now or a 💰💰 down the road. Safe Travels Dan 🇺🇸 🚛💨💨💨💨
Another great video Dan, always like hearing the weight of the loads you're pulling, it add perspective of the power that trucks have! Also that tractor's gonna look REALLY GOOD hooked up to that step deck!!
I wish shippers would provide written instructions and maps for newbies so we could understand the way things are done in their yard. Understanding oral instructions is often hard especially if you are in a truck.
I had a load of steel plates out of Youngstown OH this past week that had to be tarp. Get to the delivery, forklift operator said, man, I don't know why they make y'all tarp. I'm just gonna set it outside anyway. I said, "If I ever come back, it will not be tarp.
As they say, if you want something done right do it yourself. I guess flatbed owner-operator is a good job for people who like to do things themselves.
I'm sure the reason that Mercer wants all of the pages is because there could be some conditions listed on those pages that could come back on them later. It seems odd to tarp unfinished steel.
As I got older I changed trailers to make it a little easier. I had a steel Doonam 50.5 foot stepdeck lowdeck with full twistlocks. What a great trailer and so much easier to get on and off of while securing loads. I'm medically retired now but spent 30 years over the road mostly at Landstar. Be well, glad you're getting a new trailer.
Dan Dan the professional flat deck man. Some weeks it seems everything falls right in your lap. Other weeks it’s a struggle to get loaded or unloaded on time. It seems from week to week nothing goes the same. In my eyes you did not do over kill in securing that plate load. We have all seen the destruction of a plate load that has come loose. Kind of like steel beams. Steel on steel just loves to slide. 🛝 I like when you are videoing you doing maintenance on your tractor or trailer. Another fine video Dan, tractor and trailer looking mighty nice, thanks for posting. Have a great and a safe day. Happy trails to you, D..
I work shipping and teceiving at a large resort, and it is eaually frustraring to us as it is to the drivers that we dont have signs to direct trucks to our loading dock. Not a single one. We have had many trucks pull up to the front entrance of our main lodge, then they have to back out to the road about a quarter mile back because they cant turn around. We obviously do our best to guide them out and try to give good directions to shippers, but it doesn't always work out. We have asked for signs several times and unfortunately, upper management doesnt seem to think its necessary...
@@mikewieggers3139 If management deemed us worthy of having a forklift in the SHIPPING AND RECEIVING department, I'd have no problem doing that! We've got to get them to the dock to unload with pallet jacks for now though. We asked for a forklift this year and they put it in the budget for 2027. Everyone thinks their stuff just magically shows up to where it's supposed to be lol
Exciting you and Bailey uses "ANTIFREEZE " ON YOUR BOLTS .!!!@@❤❤❤😅😅😅ITDOES AMAZING TO ME MORE SELVES MECHANICS WHO WORK ON THEIRS TRUCKS DONT ALL USE "ANTIFREEZE ",,,,, TO MAKE REMOVAL OF BOLTS ETC EASYER LESS TIME....THANKS FOR ANOTHER FUN VIPER DAN AND BAILEY..ENJOY❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Some brokers will use any excuse hold up payment, didn't send all the pages, no arrival time annotated, image is blurry etc. Then they don't tell u there's a problem until you call asking where's your $.
Safe Travels. Love Miss ❤❤❤ Miss Bailey ❤❤❤. Brandenburg was nearly wiped off the map & lost 33 people when an F5 directly hit the town on 3 April, 1974 during the 1974 Super Outbreak. WHAS-AM has a wonderful four part YT series on the Outbreak. Better safe than sorry on the chains, better to start off with/more than needed to start than second guessing yourself & regrets for not having more in the event of an incident. Give Miss Bailey a hug, smooches, & scratches behind each ear; & do as she says😎.
Hey Dan, Why don’t you just take the one on the other side off and leave the nut covers on , it’ll still look nice and it opens up a hole so you can check the oil in the steers. Thanks for another great video, and I hope you padded the corners of that sheet steel, cause if you didn’t you know by now that it will rip your tarps up like an angry exwife with a butcher knife.Keep pounding the ground my friend.
Looked like an old cab over truck waiting in front of you for the flat steel load.
With the air filter cap off, amazing amount of muck behind it on the body. #sweatingthedetails
For 2yrs now loving your Videos on Facebook and TH-cam. Watching from South Africa 🇿🇦
Bottom line. Don't mess with Dan The Trucking Man. Always enjoy your videos. I miss my days on the road.
You would NOT miss current days on the road, 🔔
Enjoyed finally getting to talk with you on 840 in Tennessee the other day. I'm the 20 year old Mercer Tarp guy😂
Yep, have to tarp a load of steel that they most likely stored outside in the elements.
Thanks Dan, Teresa, Bailey, viewers, subscribers, logistics and Mercer for another day in the life of Super Trucker Dan.
If Mercer says they want all the pages ... Then DO IT !!! KEEP PEACE ✌️
Always enjoy your videos, a down to earth hard working guy.
At work and home .Hi Theresa ,horse & dogs 🙏
I can’t wait to see that new step deck! Tell them guys to get in the ball and get ‘er done! Have a blessed day Mr. Dan!
It’s nice to learn a little something on these videos. Appreciate it 👍

1 of 3 ------ Don't argue with Dan shippers! 🤣 Safe travels!
Gr8 Vid & Maintenance Mr Dan

🚛💨💨💨💨
Thankfully you can do a lot of your own maintenance to save time and money.
I see Bailey left you a little present back there Dan. 😆
I was in dodge city a few days ago too
Good video. You could really see that trailer settle down with the plates. Great day Sir
Standard procedure to check air filters is lowering a trouble light inside and look through the pleats . Install an air filter restriction gauge .
i quit using speedco years ago too , Joes is where i go exclusively now

It's not only Mercer, any broker is asking for all the pages to be sent depending on the number of pages marked on page 1. 👍
Love your vids and baley makes them better lol sorry if I spelled her name wrong! Stay safe both of you and keep our country moving!

Yea Dad!! Glad you got a couple 'wins' on loads. It's been a tough few years on all O/O from what I see. Good to see you posting again. Cheers,ed

A "polite" way to say something, "sorry I missed the sign".
Getting the maintenance done. The care and attention necessary. Gets lost by some. Mick London

Why are your loads so small for the size of truck / trailer ?
Another good one Dan KEEP ON TRUCKIN 🚛🇺🇸👍
Bailey, stretching her legs ---- now, that is funny! lol

Just start unloading the trucks at the front entrance, once it affects guests, things will change. LOL

In the nuclear construction industry we used to say "The reactor can't start until the weight of the paperwork is equal to the weight of the reactor"
Good stuff! Thanks for posting. Peace...!
That’s just the way it is do they give any help on deadhead miles??
I enjoy all your Videos
good video, good sound
That steel place is new, no signs yet. You would think they would have planned for that.
It seems to me that sucking the air into the center of the filter would restrict the cfm of air as compared to the opposite direction. Am I wrong?
The end result is, "You do it yourself." 😂

Signage dan,it saves a lot of hassle.
Some brokers will use any excuse hold up payment, didn't send all the pages, no arrival time annotated, image is blurry etc. Then they don't tell u there's a problem until you call asking where's your $.
A set of Fleet Air Filters will save you money and filter better.

the old filters can be recycled right?
That's trucking sometimes you're in the right place right time good for you
Give Bailey a belly rub for me and y'all stay safe and God Bless you.
How do you remove the big chunks of dirt/bugs from the bottom of those Filter holders?
When are you getting the new trailer?
Tarping required, without being payed for it. How does that work ..........
He sleeps much better!
He said I did get paid for it.
Why hasn’t Mercer moved into the digital age re:documentation (paperwork).
What’s the purpose of putting the tarp on this load? I know he is doing what they tell him to do. But just don’t see the purpose.
👍
No Motorkote ?
Becuase one of them says TARP.
EVERYPLACE in ND is in the boonies. Hell, the WHOLE STATE is the boonies.
