I'm working on prerequisites and starting my ABSN this spring... love all the info you share. My friend who just became an LPN did have some clinicals in the OR...you actually gave me relief when you said you DON'T have an OR rotation. I really don't want to watch actual surgery!!!!
It’s so weird coming from a non-healthcare first degree where we had to spend our summers and even semesters gaining relevant experience in order to get a job in our field. And then going through an ABSN where our only experience is school since there is no time to work during school-it’s scary! I absolutely love your advice about reaching out early to hospitals/programs you’re interested in and using your first college degree to your advantage 💕 You rock!
I like your videos 🥰 I love the way how you balance everything. I am gonna register for my prerequisites classes on coming spring semester I wanted to know did you completed your prerequisites before getting into this ABSN program??
Thanks! I got into my program and then completed my prereqs. I wanted to know what program I was going to first so I knew the specific list of prereqs I needed. That way I didn't miss any or do one I didn't need. But I know people who have started and then applied! It's totally up to you!
How would you describe your balance between school and personal time? Also how have clinicals been? I applied to an ABSN program and awaiting acceptance so your videos have been giving me a good insight on what life might be like!
I would say my life/school balance the last CAP was not great. I was super busy and it was the first time I felt a little overwhelmed with school. This CAP and all the other ones I felt like I had a really good balance. I had plenty of time for myself and as long as I kept up on my assignments/studying, there was very little stress. Clinicals have been good but few and far between because of the pandemic...but I am hopeful that will start to change by the summer with everyone getting vaccinated. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on your acceptance! You've got this!

haha no OR for me! There will definitely be rotations that you love and some that are not your thing!

Yes! It's definitely scary and so unknown but your second skill set can always be an asset to you!
Thank you for the update on your program and for being so transparent! ( And you do have an accent- American 😂)
haha that's so funny, I've never been told that before but I'm sure I do!
