Can confirm that Aura Mech is a killer dude, and his products and services are amazing. He'll lube your switches for you, and does a bang-up job at it!
Must underrated channel on the internet, but I am sure not for long. Amazing videos, amazing content, and amazing personality and presentation. I am 43, a gamer and love the learning experience you provide. Thank you, and I am sure to see you at a million viewers soon!
I purchased the Wooting wrist rest after watching this video and it arrived yesterday. Have to say that I'm impressed with the quality and happy with my purchase. Thanks again 👍
Your reviews are so amazing dude! I can't explain! The value from your information unmatched so far! Thank you for what you do! Anyone buying a wrist rest should watch this video before they make a decision. The depth of your review is very visible!
I'm an ergonomics nerd and I've tried so many wrist rests. The best BY FAR is the Sanwa Gel from Japan (available with Prime shipping on Amazon US). It's seriously endgame for wrist rests. Perfect height for a mech keyboard, perfect length for a 60-65%, and it's made of insanely comfortable memory gel that's covered in supple matte faux leather that looks hella classy. It manages to be so soft that it feels luxurious (and cradles your wrists nicely) yet it's very supportive and always regains its shape a few seconds after you move your arms away. It's SO much better than the lame "memory foam" coated in vinyl or spandex that everyone else uses. Plus the Sanwa is just black with no logos or silly colors so it fits a murdered out desk setup perfectly.
BadSeed Tech haha like I said I’m an ergo nerd and after trying the rest, the Sanwa is truly the one. Looks like the Medium (300mm) is off the menu at Amazon so I’m going to send some emails and I’ll get back to you. I have an eBay store so I’ll carry them if I have to but it’s probably just a supply chain issue.
BadSeed Tech just an update to my previous comment. Sanwa says the Medium size gel wrist rest is on the way and should be back in stock on Amazon US within the next 2 weeks!
Okay so, first, thank you for making this video. I have multiple wrist injuries (on both hands) due to excessive high APM gaming on controllers. I'm nearing 30 and I developed De Quervain's tenosynovitis with minor carpal & cubital tunnel syndromes on both hands. Also I'm a software engineer so typing is basically how I get my income. Using a proper keyboard (I'm running X-bows) basically saved my hands in terms of typing, but can't forget that a wrist rest is really really important. I tend to prefer silicone ones btw (again, running X-bows's wrist rest, recommended it to friends for completely other keyboards and they love it, you should check it out) as they are easy to clean and they don't give in, causing a bad wrist orientation. Kinda a mix between comfortable and super firm. Cheers!
I've switched over to the hyper x wrist rest with cooling gel and it might be my favorite wrist rest to date. A lot of the other ones I've used have made my hands really sweaty but with this one I've never had that issue.
Auramech has been killing it, he said in today's stream no more Groub Buys which is awesome he said he wants to have stuff in stock for the Purple Storm, and Blood mousepad, also said there will be a limited drop soon
The stuff you said about proper ergonomics and taking care of yourself early is such good advice. I always use a wrist rest (Glorious PCGR 13mm Stealth) with my keyboard. The same sort of general advice applies to gaming mice too. I learnt the hard way how important it is to use a mouse that is comfortable for your hand size and grip if you do a lot of gaming. Last year when the Model O came out I bought it as my first ultralight mouse. It was also my first ambidextrous mouse, with my previous mains being a Rival 600, G403 and Mamba Wireless. The shape felt really awkward to me at first but the light weight was fantastic. However using it for more than 30 mins would start to strain my hand, and eventually lead to my hand feeling sore. I asked some folks online if it was just a matter of getting used to a grip I wasn't used to, and I was told that after about a month I would adapt to it and the strain would disappear. Well, it didn't. Instead of listening to my body, I kept using it because the light weight made it easy to hit flick shots and I felt like that gave me an advantage. Then one day I jumped on my PC to play some Titanfall 2 and my wrist started hurting straight away. It's been almost a year since then and I'm still feeling the affects of it even though I'm back to using ergo mice (thankfully lightweight ergos are a thing now). No, it's not carpal tunnel or anything like that, but I now have to limit my play time each day until I fully recover. So if you're reading this and you're finding yourself feeling sore when gaming or afterward, don't do what I did. Do whatever you need to do to get your setup comfortable and suitable for YOU. Look after yourself, listen to your body. Don't use a specific set of peripherals just because your favorite streamer does, we are all different. Don't trade strain/pain for a small advantage or aesthetics. A comfortable wrist rest and a suitable mouse will help you avoid excessive strain and you'll be able to play for longer and improve more as a result. Great video Brian, I'd really like to see more of this kind of stuff on the channel in the future. :)
You should never rest your wrist on anything. First, the weight of the arm will then press on your traverse carpal ligament. Second, it encourages ulnar and radial deviation of the wrist (left and right twists). Third,it robs you of the proper alignment of the wrist and fourth it robs you of the power of the arm. There is no static motion the wrist should be held in because it is a fulcrum. Its proper alignment simply transfers the power of the arm into the finger tips or device. Just like your ankles are flexible, what position should they be in when you walk? Well, they take on several positions and are never static. They are used to transfer the weight of your body into the ground. If you were to walk on the outside or inside of your foot, they would begin to ache because your weight is now going into the foot and not the ground. Likewise, the power of the arm must pass through the wrist, through the fingers and into the device you are using. Isolate or “rest” any part of your body and all your gravitational force will stop in that body part then you’ll go see a doctor who tells you you have a “repetitive stress injury” but really you’ll have an injury because you move incorrectly.
The glorious wooden rest in Onyx seems to have paint issues. My paint started coming off within a week of getting it. For cleaning cloth rests, automotive interior cleaner and a microfiber cloth works wonders with to lift the dead cells and junk from the cloth.
30 year old gamer here. I would have laughed at the idea of a wrist rest when I was 20-25, but over the past couple of years I've really started to appreciate them for longer gaming/productivity sessions.
Amazingly detailed review, glad I found your channel! Felt like you tried to cram as much info in as possible within the video time rather than what other creators do with padding it out with empty content, very much appreciated!
I bought the Glorious Wooden Keyboard Wrist Rest a few moths back. It stays cool, is easy to clean and is a perfect fit for the Ducky SF. If you take away one thing from this video, listen to the importance of ergonomics. I'm 55 and I know soft tissue injuries are for life. Game now and game forever. Proper positioning of chairs, desks and wrists rests are the key to longevity. How about a chair and desk review Brian?
I recently go my 1st wrist rest and it's the Glorious. I love it, I was getting aches in my hands and wrist area when typing, this rest has cleared that. I know he said to not put the weight of my hands on it too much but I find for me it makes everything just better and I actually feel like I've increased my typing speed a little too. I'm on a TKL so I've not found myself resting on the logo either so no issue there and so far it's keeping clean pretty well. Awesome video as always.
Nice Chanel. You have much more real use insight and not just the what’s sold at Buy Buy selection of products reviewed. Big plus for a good sense of humor too!
I've been prone to tendonitis in my left hand due to gaming since I was 15. I don't game much anymore, but I'm a writer in college and type literally all day every day. Past week my tendonitis got extremely bad. Excruciating pain in my arm and shoulder. Can't type anything in the middle of the semester for an entire week. Make sure you have good posture and ergonomics.
I created mechanical wrist rest. It is something new. Hand feels like in air. For so many years gaming I have a problem with my left hand. It is a real problem. So now I have best wrist rest that really work!
thank you for this video dude. as somebody that works from home and also is a PC gamer heading towards mid to late thirties, i've developed "mouse elbow". Couldn’t agree more as a current chiropractor student and a heavy gamer. My hands are going to be my money makers, and the hands weren’t meant to be in the position. Great topic
I used the Glorious Wristrest for over a year and yes...the cardboard shit really evaporates after a few cleaning sessions. It was not pretty in the end. I bought me the Wooting Wrist Rest as soon as it became available. It was a huge adjustment phase. My wrist really sunk into the Glorious one and then there suddenly was resistance in it with the wooting. But I really like the Wooting now. And it is easy to clean...put it in the bathroom sink for 5 minutes, drop it somewhere to dry, looks like day one. The only thing that is annoying: When it is hot I literally get sweat puddles on there. You can actually see it on there like you spilt water on it. But atleast it does not get in there like on the Glorious one. :D
@BadSeed Tech Man I am dying at the little gotcha blurbs you put into this video. Great info on a subject that I never really considered. DONT ever change SIR

I use 2 of HyperX’s wrist rests, for both mouse & keyboard. They are great & they have a cooling effect, they help me a lot when using my PC for longer periods of time 👍 you didn’t mentioned them? But great video, it’s a actually an important part of this. Didn’t thought of it, first a few months ago. Should have used it for years now. Also, I’m always moving my arms, also the mouse - but it helps resting my arm on an wrist rest while using the mouse. I’m not locking my arm/hand in position, but I just relax much more while using the mouse beside keyboard.
HyperX is a very good wrist rest and I have 2 as well and use them for kb and mouse. The one for my mouse I use just my palm as I don’t really move my arm all too much for gaming. HyperX needed to be in the video for sure.
Yesss thank you for covering this. Ergonomics are so overlooked. It doesn't help that most desks aren't built with ergonomics in mind. Currently using an older tkl foam wrist rest, but it looks crazyyy for 60%. Really wish the Wooting one came in 60%
1:20 Only eighty? I have only been using keepass for about a year and im already up to several hundred. Thank FRICK i am using a password manager, since before that, there was NO WAY I'd be able to remember that many, thus i only used like 2-3, with a few sub variations between them
Love the vid, busted me up pretty good. I bought a Glorious after I notice I was already feeling pain while only owning a pc for 2 weeks. All those years of skating and falling on my wrist caught up (I'm 28). I was using my mouse box til it got delivered haha
I'm old and game, have been using wrist rests for many years, when you get to your late 40s you need a little help The Wooting rest looks like a good upgrade for my aging Grifiti rest
I had some issues with my right wrist last year and feared I was developing carpal tunnel, so I ditched my mouse for a trackball (Kensington Expert) and a foam/gel wrist rest (also Kensington), and haven’t had any issues since. For my keyboard I use Razer’s premium version but will also get an mStone glass one.
There are some leather ones and the HyperX that you didn't mention. I personally have the Razer, HyperX, and a leather one. All feel amazing. Already tried hard wooden ones and plastic ones, like the ones that came with the Corsair K70, but those cause pain after a long session.
Nice, suggestions dude. Quick Suggestion for next video, since many people are working from home, would be able to do like chair guide also maybe. Or maybe like armrest cushions for those bad "gaming" chairs
I've rocked a Ducky full size leather rest and have loved it, now the wife uses it w/ the fullsize Ducky she claimed from me. I do have to say it's worth the extra to go with a wooden rest from Glorious as that has been my daily driver for my wrists for the past few years when they launched them. I do plan on eventually getting a Aura Mech or a Moonkey Koi rest just due to the fact that they are stunning and really set a desk setup off.
Consider the mouse wrist rest as an elbow or forearm rest instead. Obviously you don't want to stretch your arm out in front of you, so I think this only applies in a situation where you could get really close to the desk, but I've used it this way before.
As a proud owner of a GMMK kailh jade, get the slim wrist wrest. For the GMMK, the normal version is too tall, unless you like actually pushing down on it. I dont, and i just rest my palm on it, for my use case, the non-slim would be way too tall and I'd be typing like i was standing up.
I've managed to avoid getting carpal tunnel too bad even after working in software development for 35 years thanks to wrist rests and the Microsoft natural keyboard which I've used at work since they came out in the mid 90's. At this point I get worse carpal in my mouse hand, I find a gel rest when using a mouse helps a lot. But I have it an inch or two behind my wrist, it changes the angle of my hand and makes using the mouse much more comfortable for long gaming sessions now that I'm in my 50's.
HyperX is very good as I have 2 of them. Very comfortable yet supportive too. I would say it’s the best one out now. Still need to try the new Razer Pro though.
I can relate, cause I'm probably similar age range (turn 40 in 7 months).... but check out the Novel Keys desk mats. They're thick enough that they help me from wearing out my wrists. I've tried the Glorious ones, but they didn't fit my wrists well somehow. Cooler Master had a nice one, but I got rid of it because it started getting gross, and I don't know if they still make them.
Wrist rests can lead to Carpal Tunnel. The pain that you experience in your wrists from long gaming session is due to fatigue. The pressure of a wrist rest after an extended period of time is likely to lead to Carpal Tunnel. The best things you can do is not game for extended periods of time without breaks and stretch your wrists.
If people are looking for a cheap flat style wrist rest. Look up "coolermaster Wrist rest" it's pretty cheap and a great starter one. Hope this helps and always awesome vids Brian.
I live in the netherlands and the wooting keyboard is pretty cheap here. I have it and I convinced a friend to buy it, the switches are better than MX reds and they have analog capability!
Great review on wrist rests. Can't play without one. Have the Razer and love it... Unfortunately the Pleather doesn't last. I've had two of them crack and peel and they look really bad. May go for the Pro version since it doesn't have the cheap Pleather on it.
I use a wrist-rest mousepad for the same reason as you recommend it for keyboards - to maintain a straighter wrist. I find gaming without my Razer Vespula to be incredibly uncomfortable for my palm grip. I also hate mice with a tall hump too so I'm not sure how much of an edge case I am
I broke my wrists when I was four and then 10 so I like having a wrist rest but I do agree that you need a bigger size. I'm using Glorious's 60% rest on a Ducky One 2 SF and it's fine for gaming but not typing and coding.
HyperX is very good as I have more than one. One for my kb and one for my mouse. Only had it 6 months so durability I have no clue yet. But support is great. Not too hard and not too soft either.
I just bought a tkl from glorious! The stealth edition specifically. It works AWESOMELY with my Razer Huntsmen tkl, it feels great to rest my hands on.

Badseed Tech is coming up as one of the best smaller tech channels. Love your video color aesthetic and review style.
Man I just love the production value of these videos. Especially the b-roll. Keep up the good work man👍🏼
Yesss thank you for covering this.
Thank FRICK i am using a password manager, since before that, there was NO WAY I'd be able to remember that many, thus i only used like 2-3, with a few sub variations between them
“Not weird and squishy like a cell phone case... or your mom.” Dammmmmmnnn 😂 3:41
6:30**
6:52 what’s that under the will
yup. i tried using a 60% pad for a 60% keyboard. returned it in a couple days and got a larger one. Always go bigger is good advice. lol
i think you deserve may more subscribers . You're one of the best at gear reviews man keep up the solid work !
Love the vid, busted me up pretty good. I bought a Glorious after I notice I was already feeling pain while only owning a pc for 2 weeks. All those years of skating and falling on my wrist caught up (I'm 28). I was using my mouse box til it got delivered haha
I'm old and game, have been using wrist rests for many years, when you get to your late 40s you need a little help
The Wooting rest looks like a good upgrade for my aging Grifiti rest
1:57 for anyone who wants to skip the sponsor :)
Huge fan of this episode! Glad to see some focus on wrist rests!
Bailey Tenkeyless is also worth a mention. Leather made.
Where is the gameplay from at 2:59?
Nice, suggestions dude. Quick Suggestion for next video, since many people are working from home, would be able to do like chair guide also maybe. Or maybe like armrest cushions for those bad "gaming" chairs
What is that 65% keyboard with the blue caps??
I've rocked a Ducky full size leather rest and have loved it, now the wife uses it w/ the fullsize Ducky she claimed from me. I do have to say it's worth the extra to go with a wooden rest from Glorious as that has been my daily driver for my wrists for the past few years when they launched them. I do plan on eventually getting a Aura Mech or a Moonkey Koi rest just due to the fact that they are stunning and really set a desk setup off.
3:16 broooooooo 🤣 🤣
The purple storm wrist rest from Aura Mech looks sick. Too bad it's sold out.
Stay tuned - they have some really exciting stuff coming up 😉
Consider the mouse wrist rest as an elbow or forearm rest instead. Obviously you don't want to stretch your arm out in front of you, so I think this only applies in a situation where you could get really close to the desk, but I've used it this way before.
Hahah that little "or your mom" you snuck in while talking about weird and squishy things caught me off gaurd😂😂😂
Thats actually really impressive. We had that MS Natural once upon a time. You still gaming regularly?
Hyperx also makes a really nice cooling gel wrist rest
HyperX is very good as I have 2 of them. Very comfortable yet supportive too. I would say it’s the best one out now. Still need to try the new Razer Pro though.
What are those light/dark blue key caps shown throughout the video? Like at 5:00
Awesome round up man, favourite tech tuber by far.
you just got that style
The best things you can do is not game for extended periods of time without breaks and stretch your wrists.
i cant stop staring at this man's beard
WHAT IS THIS MAGIC!
Vortex Zomb1e Perfection I might say
Can you find a white one? I need a white or white and black one for my setup
What are those blue pink and black keycaps look🔥
3:56 what are those keycaps? im building my first keyboard....kbd67 lite and i cant find any nice keycaps please
just a heads up there is a razer tkl wrist rest but it's currently out of stock probably cuz of you know what
The standard Razer one is really comfortable but the top layer wears down quite fast since it is a fake plastic leather material
What's the wrist rest like on the Dygma Raise? Is it perfect because they label this as an ergonomic keyboard?
Can I get that name of the key cap set at 2:07 or a link that looks nice
2:26 whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat half keyboard? That's interesting!! Is that a custom???
Hands down the best B roll, production quality, and hella valuable information. And Brian's got jokes! 🤣
I broke my wrists when I was four and then 10 so I like having a wrist rest but I do agree that you need a bigger size. I'm using Glorious's 60% rest on a Ducky One 2 SF and it's fine for gaming but not typing and coding.
I just ordered the hyper x keyboard rest to try
HyperX is very good as I have more than one. One for my kb and one for my mouse. Only had it 6 months so durability I have no clue yet. But support is great. Not too hard and not too soft either.
How about the HyperX wrist rest
Hands down the best tech-tuber that I can vouch for time and time again! *Keepin’ it real my G*
I just bought a tkl from glorious! The stealth edition specifically. It works AWESOMELY with my Razer Huntsmen tkl, it feels great to rest my hands on.
