I used 1x2 select pine boards (you could use the cheaper boards with knots if you're going for a more rustic look though!). I first applied a paint wash with very watered down beige paint I had on hand. For the stain I used a 50:50 mix of minwax's water based semitransparent stain in the colors American Walnut and Colonial Maple.

Also he could cut your wood and have ready for you. When you had to buy 8' boards...Lowes would cut for you. Do you never go to Home Depot
She is really amazing! I might be alone on this. I don’t like the bathroom. The ahi lap would look so much sharper if they installed it going the other way. To me it now looks like paneling from the 70’s. Just one opinion. The shiplap is already out of style and may have been the wrong decision financially. This couple is fantastic. They work together so well and are working on improving their home aesthetically and financially. It’s wonderful!
Nixe job, but u still have the same issues with paint and not planning, u waisting a lot paint n time n money, u most imrpove ur paint skills, specific on sraining wood, the cab on thr bath, looks splashy as thre same the bedroom wood wall, is not a quality finish, it doesnt matter if will be behind the bed, just so u know

Maybe make floating sconces with the left over pieces from the cut downs.
The old feet for the bed can be screwed into the other holes upside-down with the feet going up into the body of the bed frame. You won't loose any of the hardware and it won't be seen unless you are at ground level.
Another very cool tip is ti write the paint info on the face plates in the bedroom. That way any future owners will know the perfect match if small touch ups are required. Same with paint stains.
I kinda want to put fire glass in the gravel... if you use glass, gravel, or out door fire pit filler, it will radiate much more heat into the room.

I have certainly enjoyed watching your channel! It's motivating to see what you come up with and how you go about completing your projects. I don't have half those tools and not able to do most because I'm alone, and thirdly, I'm an artist, not a mathmatician so it's like watching Charlie Brown when the adults are talking. At 70 I have already laid vinyl flooring by myself, put up chair railings and laid a patio. You do great work and show step by step so I'm hanging on to every word, waiting for the amazing results! As for your camerman, he keeps things light and I enjoy you both! Keep up the good work!

It all turned out awesome! I'm curious why you didn't just turn the boards around and renail them in the same spots? The other side didn't have the wash on it. I would have stuck to the 8' boards and gone to the ceiling as well as it shortens the room as is and you'll have to dust that rail (and I hate dusting. lol) Maybe a wallpaper or horizontal boards above the vertical ones instead of the rail? Love the way you styled it all. Love the bathrooms and the fireplace is stunning. Maybe a subtle tile on the lower half? Love the polar bear closet. So freaking cute! You have a brilliant mind and mad skills and I'm so glad your kids get to see it so they know women can do anything.

I’m a single mom who has always fixed things myself and recently decided to take on remodeling my house… I just have the new baseboards left to attach and then I’m done(THE WHOLE BATHROOM) I swear the amount of times that I’ve gone in to buy different tools and what not, that I get asked if I’m bringing it home to my HUSBAND drives me crazy!! Lol While my EX-Husband may be a mechanic, he could never in his life do this as carefully and detailed that I do that it just makes me hysterical when asked😂

I understand completely your visions and that you actually design and build it in your head. I’m 67 and I’ve always done this. In fact I get so into the thought I sometimes am surprised to find myself in the same room I am doing the project in my head when I come out of the thought.( boy that’s a mouthful, but I think you’ll know exactly what I mean). Nice job on the corner vanity. The only suggestion I have is wait on electrician until vanity is moved so you know exactly where the light/outlet will be.

Love the fireplace but maybe used a stain wood mantle to bring in the color of flooring to break up all the light colors going on. It turned a beautifully.

My husband is very handy too, he has replaced 1900 sq ft of flooring, replaced toilets, all of the paddle fans and faucets/showers and built a 8 x 8 pantry from unused garage space. In the beginning of each project he says this is a 3 trip, 4 trip etc -meaning the amount of times he will have to go back to Lowe’s. Its funny he is usually correct.

Since the kids' toothbrushes won't look good out, get a raised edged silicone drawer liner for the top drawer and throw a bamboo charcoal moisture bag in there to stop mold. Every time you clean, spray the drawers with vinegar you let air dry. It will kill any mold trying to grow and keep things looking tidy. A spray bottle of alcohol to hit the toothbrushes with when they need to be hidden for guests will finish any issues💕
The kids bathroom looks great! As I watched the footage of the tub drop, I thought how lucky it was that the tub didn't fall back into your ground floor window! Whew!

love this channel just found it by accident was actually watching something completely different. however then it caught my eye. I am a DiY-ER and a woman loved a lot of your ideas the one thing I wasn't to crazy about the bedroom. I think it is because you out did yourself on the others...I cant tell you how much I miss doing all this with my hubby. may he RIP. The one major project I truly love was the fire place at first it was questionable but when you did the framing around the TV I have done photography as well but also did a lot of custom framing. I was blown away on how your framing came out around the TV making it really look like a real picture hanging there really tying It together was by far my favorite out of all the ones I breezed through online.I couldn't wait to tell you how much I love it! I am still watching the last project on this series. I love the ship-lap walls as well.. I see a lot of that where I am from. The one thing I would say is to wipe off the caulk off the quarter round so it doesn't show up or use would filler you will thank yourself later.and now I am looking at the last bathroom very very nice lady you should be proud of yourself. love the way it came out the green tile very nice touch the lights just everything that was a heck of an update! Go ANDREA Go ANDREA LOL...:) On the wall paper you should mark out your lines doesn't take that long so you know where your design will end up... Omg the kittens so cute. I am a lot older then you please don't take anything in the wrong way. but you definitely got 2 thumbs up from me and a new fan.
You could use the leftover parts from the 8v foot boards to make floating side tables!

I am amazed how easy it is to renovate these houses😮 , as an Austrian Renovation is a very hard thing dealing with concrete and massive brick and different layers of construction. 😢. But our houses are really sturdy 😅
