I am nothing, though I lived in El Salvador and 8 years in Syria as a Catholic missionary. Your statement surprises and saddens me. We helped poor people, sonetimes risking our lives to do so. Does that make us communists or socialists? How can you judge his heart? Give one statement of his that is socialist. You should know that he sought a middle road between 2 extremes...
I’m a conservative and I don’t consider helping the poor to be socialistic. In fact socialism does the exact opposite of helping the poor. I also don’t consider Bishop Romero to be a socialist/communist at all.
