It's FINALLY happened - I took on the viral Japanese conbini food challenge! No lie, this was actually kinda tough for me 😂 How would you guys do?? Would you eat anything I bought? 🍙🍜🥐ALSO, if you'd love to support me & the channel, enjoy some snacks from my awesome sponsor! 🍡 Use Code "SEERASAN" for $5 off your first #Sakuraco team.sakura.co/seerasan-SC2406 and #TokyoTreat team.tokyotreat.com/seerasan-TT2406 boxes today! Experience Japan from the comfort of your own home!
Twenty-four hours of conbini food in Tokyo: that's easy. Egg salad sandwiches from Lawson for breakfast. Coffee. Onigiri and green salad for lunch-FamilyMart. Apple juice. Dried squid for afternoon snack. Curry bowl for dinner-7-11. Or kaarage from FamilyMart. Dinner washed down with Suntory "Strong".
Need to up the challenge for the next one - like, 24 hours of only Lawson's food/drink BUT stuff you've not tried before! Love these kind of videos though, convenience stores might be the world over but it's always good to see what different items there is!
Please do a healthy combini challenge too! I’d love to see what I should be eating and grabbing. Also family mart was my favorite! I’ll have to give Lawsons another try next time
I feel like every time we watch your videos, they get noticeably better and better. To make a 25 minute video feel like 5 minutes is such a talent! Seriously. We love kombini videos and can't wait to make them in the future ourselves..though it'll be pretty hard to top yours. So good! 😄
Hi, I am native Japanese from Yokohama in Japan. I’ve just subscribed your channel on TH-cam. You have a lot of knowledge about Japanese culture. It is quite interesting to introduce Japanese everything and thanks for introducing Japanese culture.
I’m on Japan time again, something that happens from time to time when my brain needs a break. Loving the food and socks! Thanks again for another wonderful video! Much appreciation from the States!
One of my mistakes visiting Japan for the first time was getting too hyped about Combi’s. Yeah they are fantastic and everywhere but it’s almost too easy to settle for a combini meal instead of going out and sitting down somewhere. Really are missing out if you’re sitting in your hotel room with a bowl of microwaved noodles and a sando!
Recent subscriber from UK here. Love your channel and your food videos. I find them so useful and entertaining. I am visiting Japan for the first time in a few months and I cannot wait. Thanks for the great content.
Yay... Curry flavor Cup Noodle! My friend in Tokyo brought me some couple years ago. It was really popular then, so I had a dozen mini size! He later mailed me a case, but because it had pork, it got confiscated by customs.
When I knew you bought the plums, I eagerly awaited the 'cat bum' reaction face. You did not disappoint. On a side note, we saved a lot of money in Tokyo by eating onigiri from 7-11. We can't get good ones here in Australia, and I'd love to see them on our shelves.
This konbini episode was awesome! Thanks for doing this, Sarah-san! Convenience stores in Japan are a totally viable option for tourists on the go. Prices are reasonable and the food is decent quality. I think even the 'junk food' options you chose today are still healthier than what's available at American convenience stores! And I love that so many of them even have a nice little dining area in-store. I'll join the chorus in saying yes, please do the 'Sarah's healthy version' episode. You've hit the top 3, how about some of the other chains within, say, the top 10? Mini Stop, Daily Yamazaki, etc.? I know in the Kansai area, a lot of the local train lines had their own convenience chains that you could find at the stations or on the platform. I think Hankyu's was Asnas (As Soon As), if I'm not mistaken. I'm going off memory from over a decade ago, so I could be a little out of touch. But I wonder, if that's still the case, maybe you could cover some of the local konbini chains around the Tokyo area. I'm planning to visit Osaka for a few weeks later this summer with my wife. It'll be my first time back in Japan since 2008!! I'm looking forward to trying out some of the things you've covered (also TC, Lyssa, Charla, that guy Chris Abroad, etc.). I hope to catch at least one hanabi matsuri while I'm there. I'm looking forward to the eventual boyfriend reveal. He's a lucky man!! I'm sure he knows it 🙂
I love Natto! For the first time, I ate natto in Kyoto. As a Polish guy, I bought four packages of natto, I sat on the hostel kitchen floor and ate natto with pleasure :D Japanese hostel owners looked at me as a stranger who likes natto... They said: "We don't like natto. How you can eat it?" Same when I was on Okinawa; I love goya with scrambled eggs. Okinawans friends were wondering what I'd do, and I ate all! Yum, yum. Thank you for your great tips. I'm going to Japan this October for three weeks.
love the fact you don't like seafood (I don't either) so I get to see food (no pun intended) in Japan I would actually want to try... thank you for such fun and interesting videos Seera 😀
I'm from Germany and grew up with Yakult. I walk by it fairly often and am tempted every time. Might splurge and actually buy it for myself. Does it taste like it used to?
Nice video! I learned a few things about snacks! I also would like to see a healthy version with maybe vegetarian options. If possible please. 😊 last time i was in japan all i ate was egg sandwhiches and egg onigiri because i had no idea what was what.
Thank you very much for your posting! 24 hours of ONLY Japanese Convenience Store Food is a very interesting project☺ You are perfect convenience store master🏪
I think we ate most of our meals at convenience stores when we were in Japan! Miss the milk or soy pudding cups and my husband ate SO many jelly cups! Any my fav. Sparkling water is from Family Mart and is grapefruit flavour.
I would live on the little Coolish vanilla ice cream pouches and egg salad sandwiches alone. Those are my favorites. LOL You also look gorgeous in this vid seerasan
Full open top type can will spray out when opened at room temperature. It is best to chill it well before drinking😅 IYOSHI Cola has a different flavoring for the canned version sold in IYOSHI's flagshipsto store. I recommend buying it at the store when you go to Shibuya. At the flagship store in Shibuya, they also sell cola syrups, making it perfect for souvenirs.
🥤🧃🧋✨🫐🍙🍡🥐That’s a great price for a coffee, these days! They are on the pricey side!🥹Can’t complain! Even better, if it tastes Amazing!🤩✨I love your outfit 🤍 and hairstyle! 👱🏼♀️Take care, and stay hydrated! The weather is great but it’s certainly, easy to melt away!🫠👒🧃 Can’t catch any, 💤💤💤at the moment!😭
Japanese convenience stores are on a different level; it's only recently that I've noticed that American convenience stores are going upscale ... Wawa, Bucc-ees
Only 24 hours! I just got back from Osaka, I nearly did that for 24 DAYS lol. I'm now a man that carries a FamiMart logo color imabari sweat towel for my forehead!
Love your vids 🙂. My mother born/raised in Okinawa. I was born/raised in California. Your vids help me rediscover my love for japanese food. I work at a japanese market! Thank you 😊.
Hello, Sarah.thank you for your hard work "combini challnge"!! We can see the combini product very well and you enjoy it!! You are also like japanese!! Is combini a unique store for foreigner ? I think. Stay healthy 🍂🍁
Bro when you were having breakfast i was like "it's all carbs, she's gonna be so hungry later" Thx for the vid, I'm visiting around Halloween this year!
Yes, please, more of those kind of Conbini Videos 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Every time I learn something new (because of the seasonal changes) 🥰❤️ And especially for summer I need those survival tips, like solid frozen bottles in the freezer section 🥵🪭☀️☀️☀️
Nice! Thank you, seerasan :) Buns out, fun's out! By the way, now we need boyfriend videos in which he's your test subject/guinea pig for future excursions/experiments...
I am a 7-11 man but I must admit I am rather impressed with what was available in the natural lawsons, it is a very good selection! and yes you should do a healthy combini run!
5:00 this is me every time. I’m checking out at the grocery store, I feel like half of my car is just full of drinks. Lol and I love those little yogurt drinks too. We have them here in Florida.
I find it hilarious that 7-11 is considered a good store in Japan when the 7-11s we have in the U.S are sketchy, have a horrible selection, sell expired food, and the "ready to eat" food is very likely to give you the bubbleguts.
Would you consider doing a gluten free challenge in Tokyo? My family wants to go to Japan in the near future and I fear the gluten free options may be limited. It would be awesome to see gluten free convenience foods, snacks, and restaurant options.
Where was the Lawsons with the fully stocked nuggets? Every Lawsons I go to only ever has like 1 or 2 packs or nuggets, or they have to make them when I order.
Don't force yourself to eat Ume, if you can't handle it. Acquired taste exist for a reason. Like an Aussie loving Natto for example. Oh yeah, Aussie 7-11's have those Ice cups for Iced coffee too. Will agree those are the best for summer.
I highly recommend the convenience store called WELLER in Shibuya/Ebisu. It is all vegan, super tasty, and healthy too ❤ I love their freshly made to-go items. 😊
Totally enjoyed the combini challenge - thanks! Did notice the families w kids in the park behind you pack up & leave - wonder if that’s because they saw you filming & had privacy concerns (would be partic. issue when kids are in view).
7-11 has the BEST breakfast sandwiches! I only had 3 days in Tokyo, Japan - but after trying one of their packaged sandwiches, that was my breakfast every morning. Loved their options and crust-free sandwiches! SOOOO different than the trashy 7-11's here in America!

Mochi mochi mochi!

Japanese Convenience stores are the best … like THE BEST
also heading to Tokyo in September :) so so excited.
Hi,
I am native Japanese from Yokohama in Japan.
I’ve just subscribed your channel on TH-cam.
You have a lot of knowledge about Japanese culture.
It is quite interesting to introduce Japanese everything and thanks for introducing Japanese culture.
That looks so good. Japan is totally another level for food and drinks. The mochi looks so delicious.
I’m on Japan time again, something that happens from time to time when my brain needs a break. Loving the food and socks!
Thanks again for another wonderful video! Much appreciation from the States!
The hair buns though 😍
Also who doesn't love a great konbini video 🙌🏼
Yes, immediately thought about Sailor Moon. So cute. 😊
Love how the video about 24h konbini food has 24min lol
I didn't notice that. Cool!
Well said & good point!!!
I think they are really good for dinner, when you are already going to your hotel anyways
And some kombini also have seating area and hot water for noodles so its as good as a restaurant.
@ I give a nuanced bit of advice on the pit falls of settling for a Conbini and your like “but they got water and a chair”
Wild.
@@tdolan500 oh i was sleepy didnt understand your comment at first. Now get clarity.

Watching your video makes me feel like I'm somewhere else. Traveling without moving. Amazing!
The videos also make me feel like traveling to... the kitchen pantry and fridge 🤣

I grew up drinking Yakult as a kid. I don't drink it anymore but it's nice to see I can still get them at local grocery stores in California.
Judging from your reaction I think I'm going to love the pickled plum sheet!

Do an exotic sando challenge. Always interesting to see what combinations they have at different stores.
yes a healthy edition of this would be interesting seerasan
Rocking the look! Also, I feel your aussie accent has got stronger since you have been back home there recently ✌️
that Iyoshi Cola was on sale here in boston, I had one. Its not bad its kinda like a ginger molasses soda, reminiscent of ginger snaps.
Sara's brows looking wild, love it

lol….thought I was the only one thinking that….. bushy for real and that’s all i been staring at. Her personality makes up for it.

I could easily survive on convenience store food in Japan. It’s the best quality. I love their sandwiches, onigiri and karage chicken.
Prediction- Seerasan is going to hit a million by this time next year 😊❤
That udon just looks like a perfect snack size!
It is!! 🍜❤️
Sahra, I'm genuinely happy to see you posting new videos. Weiter so! :)

OMG! I couldn't stop laughing when I read this comment lol! That's funny!!!!! Uncle Croissant lololol
The grocery stores in Kitakyushu do percents off at night, if you go real late theyre 70%+ off but very little variety.
would love to see a day of eating and natural lawson honestly lol
Yes would love a healthier food video too! Loved this video too though! Thank you bunches🩷

You're slurping the noodles properly!

In Japan, it's correct to slurp your noodles with sound!
I loved that book! Been reading every book in the series so far!
Awesome! I just put it on hold so I'll try it!

Side Note. Now Seera needs to meet up with Australian PM and Japanese Emperor family now hehe. To show up Chris Broad.
To show up Chris she would still need to meet the King and the Emperor. The King is the head of state for the commonwealth too.
She also needs to meet KKP since Chris met Hyde
She should totally meet Australia’s PM. He loves travelling overseas.

Love the sour food challenge, and the soda explosion! Expect the unexpected
Healthy combini is a great idea!!!
A healthy version would so nice ❤
Would also love to see some glutenfree options
You should do a video on the lesser-known and less popular convenience store chains such as Daily Yamazaki, Mini Stop, and NewDays/Kiosk.
Japanese convenience store food is the best!

Sarah, are you thinking of buying the new Switch when it comes out? I'm considering it, I've never owned a handheld console before.
Yes I’m 100% gonna get it as a major Nintendo fan 🫶 I love that my current Switch can be docked & played handheld!
I highly recommend the convenience store called WELLER in Shibuya/Ebisu. It is all vegan, super tasty, and healthy too ❤ I love their freshly made to-go items. 😊

I know it wasn't the focus of this video but I like how in Japan you can buy Nintendo videogames like Luigi's Mansion 2 at a convenience store.
Sara look good af in this video 👌🏾
So glad I found your channel! We are planning to move back to Japan in 2025.
You should do a 2000 yen challenge with your boyfriend (if he wants to appear on camera). Get a main. dessert (cold/frozen), drink & snack

need more conbini videos with those hair bun...absolutely lovely..
