If they teach money in schools then you can't be a slave to the rich. They know that. If US government wanted to FORCE schools to teach finance they would just write up some bills to do so but they don't. The rich don't want everyone to know how to make money. A burger flipper can be rich in 20-30 years if he invests correctly it isn't that hard you just have to have discipline.

High interest credit cards, student loans on worthless degrees, car payments, phone plans over 1,000 a year (my last plan was $100 a year)... Then people complain that they feel like a slave in the rat race...If someone is doing this, it is their choice, but I'll scoff at them if they whine about "Living paycheck to paycheck" when I can clearly see them throwing away their cash.

Great financial advice! Now after you put the money in your saving account, quickly learn how to wisely and safely invest your money. Saving accounts earn very little interest and can’t keep pace with inflation. However, saving is the first big step. Without saving you won’t have any money to make it work for you through wise investment planning. If you don’t know how to invest, it may be wise to get a reputable independent financial advisor to help you. Read and watch videos on the investment subject and you can learn how to invest on your own.

    *My tips:*
*1.* you should take a step back/ zoom out and look at the world objectively.
Look at what people on your social media and people around you are buying and think about it.
Is it really necesary for you or you just want it because everyone else has it?
*2.* invest rather than to buy.
Purchase something at a reasonable price that will last and be of good use.
That way you invest but don't let the prices fool you.
Sometimes even though something is expensive it might not be of high quality.
Look for something with a high value not high price.
*3.* look at what effect something has on the nature and on you.
*4.* ask yourself if you need that thing or you just want it.
(If you reaalllyy want something try to find it at a lower price)
If I think of more I'll wrote them down

Same principle applies to money: make payment process harder, if you want to buy something on amazon? type your card number everytime you make a purchase, you will think twice before you actually make the purchase because you hesitate when you type in card number, and you will buy less and save more down the path.

Money is just as much of a tool as any other. It's neither bad nor good. The way you use it and the way you choose to acquire it define you in my opinion. If I want to get to know someone fast I just find out what they spend their money on and to what extent they would go to make money. It's that simple.

BUT recently I have bought a house in a village where I previously owned 5 acres of land a run a small farm raising pigs and chickens and growing veggies. Only 6 other elderly people live here so we often have coffee together. When I saw your video, I realized I live your dream. How can I be miserable when I live someone elses dream?! My other problems somehow seemed solvable. Thank you!

My personality is pretty materialistic and impulsive when I want something, but I’ve been able to manage it through promising to myself, “wait X amount of time, let it sit in the cart, and if you still like it after X days, then buy it without worry.” And the time frame increases depending on however more expensive the purchase price is.
The promise does two things: Satisfies my strong craving that I must have it (just, later) and controlling the impulse through a framework.
A lot of times I actually don’t want the item by the next day, lol - hence, saving me lots of money

Thanks Lana, those are great tips. I always used the "How many hours of work would I have to do to pay for this activity or item?" "Is it worth that much ?" A lot of the time the answer would be "no" for me. It's also about knowing the difference between wants and needs. I also like that you put it into perspective about going to Starbucks and going out to eat often. It can be hard sometimes when your on the go. Another good tip is that it's always good to plan ahead. Make the time to make your lunch before hand or make your coffee at home in the morning. Make it a fun ritual that you look forward to doing everyday and and that you start off the day well. Anyways it's nice to see a new video, this one was good.

I have kinda this habit instilled in me through my mom of never buying anything that is not a basic necessity the first time I see it in a shop or online. I take time to think about whether it'll really be worth it, check out reviews, compare with other products and prices, and then only go for it if I really feel that it is going to be actually useful to me. Saves me from a lot of impulsive spending. And the best thing is nowadays you have product reviews on youtube for everything. Seeing someone use a product and their opinion on it can really put into perspective your need for that thing

What i like about you is that you feel responsible for many people watching you and i think thats one of the most important things when you are connecting with so many people.
Because many good looking, hard working people who have success focus too much on themselves and forget that maybe 200000 people are watching 😅
I like it when youtubers really put energy in the audience, and not so that they stick around more on the channel, but so that you can actually help them
Just want to say that becuase i critized you for having too much attention on yourself, your looks. And i still critize that but youre still a precious youtuber and that weighs way more. I wanted to correct my input about you. So a big thank you for that

I have started following you lately. I love the way you talk and put the things on table for your audience. You mentioned you bought an apartment for yourself, I would so love to have a house tour as to me it always looks very pleasent in the background. Also, I am glad to see that someone out there is intrested to address sensible topics as it's a bit difficult to find these days. Looking forward to your great content in near future. Be safe, sending you love from India/Japan.

Thank you! This video came at the perfect time for me! I recently got a financial/budgeting journal and it asks questions to uncover some of our unhealthy ways of thinking and I’m realizing some of the ways I’m sabotaging myself just through my thoughts. This is so true: “You need to take control of your narrative”

Delayed gratification is a great technique, a good way to practice this is by putting things you want to buy in the basket on a website. Then leaving the website until the next day or so. This is a good way to ponder if you actually want these things, or it was just an impulsive purchase. With the internet everything is only a few clicks away, so it can be easy to spend without thinking it through.

Wow, I love this so much. I’ve been really trying to understand my spending habits and I love how you mentioned the concept of delayed gratification. In this day in age, it’s like social media trains us for instant gratification. We want results fast. One tool you mentioned that has changed my perspective is understanding if the amount of hours i put in the office is worth me spending this amount of money on something. LOVE THIS. THANK YOU SO MUCH 🙏🏼

I only shop for clothes twice a year (autumn and spring), I set a minimal but reasonable budget and I look for second-hand but good quality items preferably with classic designs so they don't easily go out of style. Every Sunday, I plan what food I will bring to school for the rest of the week. My introvertedness prevents me from getting invited to eat out. In the groceries, I try to buy some items in their biggest bottles/boxes so they last longer.

Saving money is important but one of the biggest mistakes people make about saving is that it shouldn’t prevent you having great experiences and enjoy your life. Sometimes the best thing you can do is having that trip you always dreamed of or that bottle of wine. Because one day you might regret not having had that one thing.
